Checking in late at night was quick and easy, and the front desk gentleman was friendly and welcoming. The room itself was clean, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, those were the only positives from my stay.
The breakfast was a letdown. Unless you arrived right at 6 AM when it was first put out, the food was cold and not restocked, especially the hot items they advertise.
They also promote soundproof rooms, which is far from accurate. We could clearly hear the guests in the room next to us talking and watching TV. On top of that, people were lingering and talking loudly in the hallways at 1–2 AM. I understand some hallway noise as guests come and go, but late-night disruptions should be monitored and addressed by staff. After being on the road for over 10 hours, getting a good night’s sleep shouldn’t be too much to expect.
The bathroom needed better upkeep. The shower curtain had some mold, and the overall appearance felt neglected. The pillows were also extremely uncomfortable, which only added to the poor sleep experience.
Overall, this stay did not meet the standards I expect from a Holiday Inn Express.
