We have a tree service scheduled for early September (next week) who will take care of this. 😊 So glad you were able to hike to the waterfall, and enjoyed the peaceful nature surrounding the cabin. In early September (next week) we will be adding a professional 4-player arcade cabinet with 3,000+ games, a huge connect four game, a wall hook game, and we will be adding some additional low-voltage landscaping lights as well. The improvements will never cease at Creeksong Cabin, a Smoky Mountains Retreat. We hope to have you back again soon!

Guest satisfaction is our number one objective. We spare no expense or effort in order to ensure our guests' comfort and wonderful experience. We want HAPPY-HAPPY-HAPPY guests who really enjoy the cabin and property. 😊 As owners, we were very disappointed to read this review. We take great measures to ensure our guests have a very enjoyable experience, including taking immediate action whenever possible. The Property Manager told us (owners) that he went to the cabin and spent an hour there with you to explain how to use the TV and the Primo (water filter). I am sorry you had difficulty using them, even after the one-on-one training. You mention there were loads of free movies using our Plex server, but no regular channels. Although we do not advertise Cable TV in our listing, we do have local channels using an antenna. I am sorry you had difficulty locating them. Regarding the difficulty in using the Primo water dispenser, which is another amenity we do not advertise, it was placed there as a convenience for our guests to supply very cold/hot water on demand. The tap water is fresh from our 650ft deep well and is delicious. Due to Primo’s simplicity, we had not considered adding instructions. We will either remove the unit or add instructions within the next 45 days. We are thrilled you appreciated the wonderful view. Regarding opening the view even more, we are happy to do this, and have already scheduled an arborist to come next month. Thank you for mentioning Alexa, which is another amenity we do not advertise (includes a paid music subscription too). You had said ‘Alexa not there until we found it unplugged by coffee maker.” Sorry to hear you had difficulty locating an amenity we don’t advertise. We are glad you found it where it belongs and were able to plug it in. We were extremely disappointed to hear there was coffee left in the coffee maker, and that the wrong filters were provided. We have addressed this with the Property Manager and have been assured it will not happen again. We have also asked the Property Manager to make sure no ash remains in the three fireplaces as well. We found it very surprising that one of your sheets was ripped. We replace these semi-annually and most recently had new sheets ordered three or four months ago. This has also been addressed with the Property Manager and are very sorry this happened. Based on your comments, I will be there within the next 45 days to inspect the fire-pit seating and make any adjustments as necessary. Regarding the hike to the waterfall, this is through National Forest Service Land which we are unable to make improvements to. We find the journey to be a wonderful scenic hike to an amazing private waterfall. Lastly – To address the focal point of your review, the title: “Website pictures were deceiving”, all of the pictures were taken within the past 12 months and some of the bedrooms were just updated last month since we recently replaced the carpet with hardwood floors. I am not sure what you found deceiving about the pictures, however just for peace of mind, I have asked the photographer to come back again in early September to help keep the photos up-to-date. Guest satisfaction is paramount, and we will continue adding unadvertised amenities and other improvements. Some things already in the works to look forward to… Starlink high speed internet (hoping for end of 2022, replacing current internet which is adequate but not awesome), professional grade arcade with over 3,000 games (within 45 days), huge connect four game, wall hook game, and many more to come. Future guests, please know we are 100% committed to making sure you have a 5-star experience. I am not sure how we failed these guests, but I assure you we will continue doing everything in our power to make your stay fantastic!

For future guests: Creeksong Cabin is 10.9 miles from Main St. in Highlands. The road to get there is the beautiful North Carolina Scenic Waterfall Byway, and is an approximately 19-minute drive, though it tends to be a longer ride for those not familiar with these winding roads.
