Hi Jennifer, Thank you for taking the time to review my villa. The last two summer rental seasons have been hard. I was not able to come to Hilton Head and do the deep cleaning. My cleaning company of 15 years obvious let me down. They have said they are doing their best with a lack of employees. From what I have heard this is a problem through out the island. I answered your 11:33 p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2021 e-mail on 9:27 a.m., Monday 6/28/2021. Even though I am an early riser, I do not like to call anyone before 9:15 p.m. I forwarded your message to the cleaning company. You replied to my message at 12:12 p.m. and said that you would appreciate another cleaning but not until 6/29/2021. I contacted the cleaning management and they replied at 3:59 p.m. They wanted to come on 6/28/2021 and clean for you but I told them no. You wanted them on 6/29/2021. I understand why you were confused about the cleaner just dropping off the fresh linens. When you e-mailed me at 5:39 p.m.. 6/29/2021, I was confused and irritated at the cleaning people I called the cleaning company and the manager said that she had scheduled a reclean. Evidently there was a misunderstanding between manager and employees. Both you and I suffered from their lack of communication. Sorry that you were not happy with the villa. I hope the rest of 2021 is very enjoyable. Kathy

Sorry for you dislike of the villa. I will talk to my cleaning people. I had a feeling that you would not be a satisfied person, when you could not figure out how to use an updated door lock.

Thanks Dr. Akin for the wonderful review. I am like you, I love to sit on the deck and watch the turtles and ducks. My grandchildren love the bikes. They really enjoy riding them to the General Store. The General Store is a nightly treat for them. The van (Dunes Buggy) has been a great addition to Palmetto Dunes. The family arrived on Saturday, June 22, 2019. I talked to the gentleman on Sunday, June 23, 2019. I told him I would call the cleaning company about the conditions of my villa. The cleaning company offered to come and clean the villa. He said that they had cleaned it and did not want the cleaning people to come into the villa. I recalled the cleaning and they said that someone was on their way. I could not call my regime until Monday about the trash (which I told the gentleman). He told me that they took pictures and sent them to me ( I did not ask for the pictures--I believe people's word). I made another call to the gentleman and told him the trash would be taken care of today. Again he asked me about the pictures. I told him that I have not received them. Then he told me he sent them to my landline number. Landline cannot accept text. Thinking about it, I thought that the pictures would be good to send to my cleaning company. I gave the man my personal e-mail. On July 18, 2019, I received an e-mail with the pictures attached. Later on Monday, June 24th, I called to make sure the trash was removed. He said that a man came and took the trash and apologized for the trash not being removed. I do not understand the remark that the owner's will not respond. I had numerous phone conversations with the gentleman during this period, I did not talk to the lady. My next conversation was again with the gentleman and I told him that I would reimburse him for the cleaning. I asked him, "What do you think is a fair price?". He asked me, "What do the cleaning people charge?". I told him. Then he said that is the price. I sent him a check for that price. I do not know how I could have respond more and been more cooperative. I had numerous conversation with the male renter, contacted the proper people and reimbursed him for the cleaning. I totally understand the frustration of walking into a place that is not clean but I do not understand the remark--"Owner did not respond". What more could I do?

Glad you enjoyed the villa and Hilton Head. The Dunes Buggy is a great way to travel around Palmetto Dines and Shelter Cove. The week of June 17th, I had the deck cleaned, the plumber check and clean drains, maintenance on AC, etc. I was so booked that I could not make appointments earlier. Have a great summer. Thanks

I wish you had called me. I have a contract with Orkin and they would have come and sprayed. I think you thoughts about the paper bags is right. The snake gives me the creeps. After your problem with the door lock, I set up June 11 for the locksmith to come and check it out. I started thinking let me call the cleaning people and see if they have a problem with the lock. They said that the lock was fine. I cancelled the locksmith. I talked to a renter after you and they said the lock was fine. My daughter and family were down this week and she did not have a problem with the lock. I do not know what to say about it. Every other year I replace the grill and this was the year for replacement. Since I have had difficulty with going to Hilton Head, it was not done until this week. My daughter purchased a new grill. The villa is supposed to be deep cleaned every May. Then cleaned each time a guest. I paid for this so I will get to the bottom of this. Usually I go down in middle May and check everything out but this year I could not go. Sorry for your problems. Have a great summer.
