'It’s a great place. The location is amazing. You can very easily walk to restaurants, shops, etc. Of course, it’s an older property but it’s very nice. It doesn’t look or feel worn out it just seems nice. I was surprised at how easy parking was in the middle of Northampton. It wasn’t a busy time when we visited but there spots, no issues. The hotel was hosting a party for a wedding (after rehearsal party or something), so that occupied the bar. It wasn’t an issue because there are 3 or 4 more...

'The place was fine--I don't demand much of a hotel. It is basically a place to sleep. However, more discerning travelers might have been upset by the fact that the supplemental door lock didn't work, one of the shelves in the closed was broken and the one day out of four that we had maid service, they seemed to only half finish the job. They may be very short of staff.'

'Ik was er 5 nachten en alles ging vlekkeloos. Letterlijk de schoonmaak is uitstekend. Ook de jacuzzi en zwembad waren heerlijk en het tuinonderhoud is geweldig. De kamers zijn mooi groot en hebben alles om je verblijf aangenaam te maken.'

'We spent the night after a wedding in nearby Northampton. It was a lovely place to return to at the end of a long day. We enjoyed our breakfast the following morning, both the buffet selections (especially the coffee cake muffins) as well as our conversation with staff member Kristen. We always try to support small businesses in the places where we travel and the Dasniel Stebbins House did not disappoint!'

'This hotel is in a great location. The staff was nice and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Quiet location even though it’s on the main road. There was a nice pool and small gym area and a cute outdoor sitting space that was enjoyable in the later evening. A small bar/breakfast area if you needed it. Great hotel for a night or two.'

'First room had dirty towels on the floor and in the bath tub. Was given a second room cleaner but building is dated and needs to be updated'

'There are not enough words to explain how disgusting and dirty and repulsive everything and that hotel was, the sheets were not clean. The bedspread was stained with human fluids. The TV remote control was broken. There was bugs on the sink, cigarette stains all over the tub. The toilet was dirty, and that was the first room we went into and then the second room was exactly the same however, the tack strip that attaches the rug in the threshold of the bathroom was exposed, and I stepped on it...

'We really enjoyed our stay here! The room was very comfortable and clean with ample outlets and ports for device charging. Elevators make the multiple levels of the building easily accessed. Especially fabulous features are the inn's restaurant (featuring delicious and beautifully presented food that we sampled for dinner and breakfast) along with their full bar and excellent wine offerings.'

'The historic Inn is beautifully maintained and updated and provides a unique experience of staying in a home dating back to the 1600's. Breakfast was delicious and Megan the cook was welcoming and helpful. We always stay at the Black Walnut Inn when in Amherst!'

'First of all I want to start with the positives because there were some. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were well equipped, spacious and clean. Unfortunately that is all the positives. First issue was the staff there were very unhelpful and did not abide by their own rules. The first thing you see, and plastered all over the hotel, are signs stating this is a smoke free hotel.
