We werden heel hartelijk ontvangen, fijne sfeer en prachtige locatie. Het ontbijt werd iedere dag vers en biologisch bereid. Echt waar voor je geld.

We were the only guest's in the night, so it was really quiet. The room is small, but ok. Sharing the bathroom and toilet can be bit difficult when fully booked. Breakfast was good. This place is a bit hard to find because Google Maps navigation will send you to a wrong location. Best is to follow road 82 until you see the signage with the guesthouse's name. (don't take road 811 to Hjalteyri this will go to the wrong location)

The only thing negative is the listing showed “Laundry”. That usually means a laundry room that one can do there own laundry. This was you call and the family comes to get it for a fee. It’s lovely in the open country and easy to get to.

Great place to stay when outside Reykjavik. Whale watching, waterfalls, and national parks make this area awesome. Akureyri is our favorite place to visit in Iceland.

Indehaver var meget svær at få oplysninger ud af før opholdet. Der er et simpelt køkken til egen madlavning i en bil udenfor. Mikroovn og køleskab på fællesarealerne. Det ville vi gerne have vidst på forhånd. Dejlige værelser og fælles rum.

I was running very late for check-in. Eyglo left the key in the door for me and a note telling me which room was mine. The facilities are so clean and welcoming! Shower gel in the shower was very helpful. Can’t wait for breakfast tomorrow!

Lovely farmhouse charm and great hospitality! The room is very clean. Beds are firm and very comfortable. We saw lots of bright stars at nice. Large enough for family retreats.

Хорошее место, позднее заселение без проблем, местоположение найти тоже не сложно, чисто и тепло, много места общего со столиками, куча интересных вещичек в интерьере, хозяйка художница, можно приобрести открытки, картины, носочки. Мы не брали завтрак, есть посуда, микроволновка и чайник, очень хороший кофе и чай. Номера классные, wi-fi, души-туалеты чистые, имеется сушилка, сортировка мусора и горячая ванна на улице с отличным видом (не пользовались). Пешком можно прогуляться до края бухты по полю - мокро - где внизу выходят кораблики для наблюдения за китами и если повезет можно увидеть их.

Unterkunft im Isländischen Landhausstil.
Es fing mit einer schlechte Zufahrt an (Schotterstraße mit Schlaglöcher). Die Unterkunft war in einem alten Bauernhaus, wobei die Dusche im Kellergeschoss lag. Die Bettwäsche war nicht gebügelt. Das Frühstück war rein vegetarisch, wer es liebt!?

The property is situated in a gorgeous valley with views of the mountains. The rooms were very clean and smelled great. The building has enough restrooms (very clean) that there is never shortage while fully booked. The continental breakfast, while very simple offers great taste of locally sourced foods. I highly recommand the area to stay. The staff, has everything ready even when arriving late, pleasant and helpful. GREAT PLACE.!!!!!

The view from our bedroom was absolutely fantastic! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, our room was very nice and clean, and the breakfast was wonderful. We didn’t mind not having our own bathroom and shower, and the shared ones were modern and clean. This is a quirky, very interesting place to stay, with art and artifacts made by the owners on display and for sale st reasonable prices. The nearby Eyri Restaurant in Hjalteyri serves lovely, locally sourced food. The best thing is the breathtakingly beautiful setting, with some of the most striking views we have seen during our stay in Iceland. Highly recommended! We can’t wait to visit again!😊

Our room (#1) had more than enough room for the 4 of us, and there were comfortable chairs in the main area to sit and read. We had a great walk out to the shire where we saw many local birds.

Very friendly, clean, warm and beautiful place to stay in Northern Iceland. Just off the beaten path but close enough to Akuryi, whale watching & many great tourist attractions. Delightful hosts with some unusual activities & sights at their Elf Centre?! Would visit again. Thanks Eyglo.

Great location right on the fjord. Close to Akureyri for services like supermarkets and laundry. Awesome whale watching close by. The rooms are typical Icelandic hotel rooms. Very clean. Stayed here for 8 nights and had no issues with the shared bathrooms. Breakfast was served each morning, home baked bread, homemade jams, and cheese with veggies. Good coffee. Local advice by owners Eyglo and Josavin was outstanding and led us to visit places we wouldn't have done otherwise. Good location to use for a home base to visit many of the sights in North Iceland such as Godafoss, Dettifoss, Husavik, Myvatn, etc. Northern lights were visible on a few nights from the deck. Would stay here again.

Affordable Iceland guesthouse
If you only stay in one guesthouse in Iceland, make it this one! We had a lovely large room for two, with shared bathrooms and toilets. Everything was very clean and tidy. Bedrooms were on one side, a spacious area with tables and chairs (where breakfast was served) in the middle, and toilets and showers on the other side. There were 26 people staying on our first night, and after people went to bed, there was no noise after about 9.30pm. The host was smiley, welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was included, plentiful and homemade breads and jams were on offer. Set on a peaceful farm only a short drive out of Akureyri, it also had a hotspot for guests to use. We will be recommending this accommodation to all our friends!
