  • Groot, modern vrijstaand huis over 3 verdiepingen, met een prachtig uitzicht. Dit pand is tot een zeer hoge standaard afgewerkt en biedt het beste van beide werelden, prachtige wandelingen in de natuur direct voor de deur, maar toch alle voorzieningen van een prachtig dorp op een paar minuten lopen. Deze eigenschap zou perfect zijn voor een familievakantie, groeps / vriendenboekingen, 2 families die delen, werken samen. Bepaalde huisdieren toegestaan. Biljart op het terrein en karaoke-apparaat met 100's liedjes. Hot Tub Spa (tegen meerprijs).

Beautiful House for a family ,well situated in a pleasant area, nice walks down into the town where there was some lovely shops , plenty of places to go to eat like cafe, pub , fish shop just down the bottom of the road where we were staying,

The property is what you see well presented very clean plenty of space for family it has everything you need there are plenty of excellent restaurants in and around holmfirth plus pleasant walks right on the doorstep of property our family enjoy our stay at this property and would highly recommend it the host Andrew was very helpful recommending places to eat out thanks Andrew you have a lovely property really enjoyed our stay

Excellent family get together

Amazing property that is well appointed, well stocked and perfect for our birthday celebration as a family. The lounge is perfect the kids to relax, watch TV and play, plus the hot tub is an added bonus.

We had a fantastic stay at Stonewell which was planned as surprise for a family birthday. The balloons and Christmas decorations were a great surprise & the property did not disappoint - it was better than the pictures. An easy booking process followed by a great stay.

Too many rules, unable to relax

Rented this house for a 40th Birthday party, 4 couples. I booked a Sax player and Chef and informed Andrew that we would be having a formal black tie & ballgown evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. Andrew told me to cancel both Sax & Chef, no external bookings allowed. The Sax would be too loud and he didn't trust external chefs using his kitchen, however he does run a second company that provides music and chefs....funny that Andrew!!!! The chef Andrew provided had never been to Andrews house and would also not take the booking unless he cooked for 10 people, 2 three course meals went in the bin, and we didn't want pay Andrew for very quite music!!!! Anyway, the house. Once we had got past the warning signs in every room about extra charges should you put a foot wrong whilst staying in this prison. The house is grubby, each room needed a deep clean, master bedroom's bed is very noisy when moving around in the night. pubes in the bathroom from previous bookings. Kitchen, grill didn't work, plinths under dishwasher fell down every day. Hot tub had a line of scum all the way round. Sky didn't work in the kitchen. I expect that Andrew will reply to this post defending his property and claiming that we didn't raise these issues whilst staying there, Well Andrew, the reason we didn't , we where trying to enjoy ourselves and our thought process was that if we'd have complained during our visit you would have kept our deposit claiming we hadn't complied with ALL your warning signs (each carry a different fine). Now you are unable to charge us we have left a genuine review. If you want to improve your business and reviews, stop treating people like idiots, I know how to empty a bin, I know how to shower!!!!

Lovely House but needs some improvement

The house is lovely and the local town is really nice. We had great weather but there is no working air conditioning and the top floor was uncomfortably hot. The master bed is also uncomfortable so we ended up sleeping in the children’s rooms in single beds as these were more comfortable and cooler. The master ensuite is beautifully finished with views outside whilst showering and the garden was lovely to spend time in. Sadly the property is very overlooked from all angles so we received noise complaints in the late afternoon just from having music on which wasn’t loud. The notices, instructions and warnings set all around the house about recycling, noise, walls, carpets, hand washing etc as well as the daily locking up and unlocking of the hot tub left an unfortunate big brother-tone to the holiday which we have not experienced before. Overall the house, garden and area were fabulous but many small things such as broken chairs, lumpy mattresses, poor cooking equipment etc left us feeling like we had been considerably overcharged for our stay. Some small improvements and fewer warning notices could go a long way here.

Great holiday home let down by safety measures and poor cleaning.

Whilst we appreciate the home owner letting us stay for additional hours due to weather on our final day, we faced a number of issues. First of all the house is beautiful and the views are amazing. The location also seems great (unfortunately we couldn't get out much) but we faced these issues below. Images of proof provided below. - the dishes were not all cleaned. We had to re-wash everything we used. You can see one of the mugs we were faced. Mugs and cutlery were the biggest issues. I would have assumed with the covid related restrictions, the cleaners would have had to do check the cleaness of the property. - the room upstairs with the great review was a lovely room but the bed was awful and creaks. Weve seen previous reviews where this has been mentioned but it really disturbed any sleep we tried to get and for anyone sleeping on the floor below. - the bed sheets might have been washed but not checked by the cleaners as we saw hairs all over fitted sheets. Also we found small pieces of a game (we assume from previous stayers) still within the sheets. We had small kids and we had a 2 year old pick this up. Luckily we noticed straight away but she could have put this in her mouth. This clearly showed that checks were not done by cleaners between the bookings. - when speaking to the home owners and checking the listing we read that it says the garden is gated and safe for dogs. We have a medium and a large dog and we couldn't have them in the garden without someone being there as well due to so many gaps and the dogs being able to escape and jump the medium size fences. - we were charged £30 for the hot tub towels after our stay, even tho the laminated price list showed the charge as £25. We asked the owner about the additional £5 charge and we were replied to with the following: "I would need to check but I thought it was £30 we charge but are we really going to argue over £5 after I let you all stay until after 3pm which for a later check out I normally charge £50 up to 12 noon and you stayed 3 hours longer than this !" We found this reply very rude and cheeky. Whilst we appreciated the few additional hours on the final day we never asked for this. The home owner offered us the additional hours due to no other booking the following day. We never heard back about the additional charge. Yes it is only £5, but if every customer is being charged extra it needs explaining.

Amazing house! Perfect for our hen weekend.

We were a group of 20 celebrating a hen party. Every single person in our group loved the house. And I mean LOVED IT!!!!!!! It is very clean and has loads of space. The views from the top floor, looking out into the valley, are top notch and the top floor bathroom will blow your mind! Faye and Andrew (owners) were easy to communicate with. There was plenty of space to store everything even with that many of us. The kitchen-dining area is fantastic and that's where we spent most of our time. There is a huge dining room table that made it easy to cater for everyone. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked. The surrounding area is lovely. We went into Holmfirth for a pub lunch (10 min walk) and then went for a local 4 mile walk (instructions in the welcome book). I would recommend this house for groups / families.

Stunning!!!

Just returned from a weekend stay here with a group of friends celebrating my 40th. We had an amazing time, the house is simply stunning in every way, beautifully decorated and furnished, spotlessly clean throughout and everything was just perfect. The photographs dont really do this house justice as it is a lot bigger and spacious than i thought it would be. All of the rooms are huge and have a lovely open plan feel to it including the very big kitchen/ diner which has a large modern dining table that easily seated all 18 of us! The ambient lighting everywhere gives it a lovely homely touch on an evening both inside and outside of the property. The views looking over the hills and valleys are also fabulous and it was a real treat to wake up every morning and taking in these wonderful views there. The hot tub was very popular as it is quite big and we managed to get 12 of us in there! It is also worth mentioning that the quaint town of Holmfirth is only a 10 min walk away which is well worth a visit as there are lots of pretty shops and restaurants as well as bars and bistros there, we ate at a lovely Italian called Piccolinos which was great. The owners were fabulous with us from start to finish and were always on hand before we arrived to answer our questions and i cant thank Celebration Cottages enough for all their help with my booking for what will be a lovely memory for myself and my friends forever more Thank you both Andrew and Faye I hope to return in the future to Stonewell House & Holmfirth

Fantastic House & Location

What a beautiful property Stonewell House is, everything about this house is quality throughout. we were a group of ladies all celebrating my daughters hen party and we could not have picked a nicer place as a venue for this. We used Celebration Cottages who i believe own the property to organise everything for us - like the chefs 3 course meal which was to die for and the cocktail class which again was absolutely brilliant, everything was very easy to book and the owners were simply fantastic, bending over backwards to help us make the weekend flawless for my daughters special weekend we all loved the large bedrooms and open plan kitchen diner where 18 of us could easily all eat together and spend time chilling out and dancing! the hot tub was amazing too we managed to squeeze 12 of us in there! The property was also spotlessly clean and i could tell that the owners are very proud of this property and rightly so. i would definitely recommend Stonewell House and Celebration Cottages to anyone wanting to book a large property for a special celebration event like this thank you for everything you did Faye & Andrew

Beautiful place

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed in, an absolute treat for our 2 families and grandchildren. The location is also fabulous with views over the hills and surrounding countryside. We enjoyed the house so much we didn't really want to venture out anywhere the owners made it very easy to book with them and were very friendly and on hand for any help or advice we needed during out stay We would love to return again for another family occasion in the future like this one

Unproffesional last minute cancellation.

Hi, I am absolutely appalled with the way Andrew handled our booking. After booking the house months in advance to celebrate a hen do, we were contacted by Andrew 3 days before the event, cancelling our booking and leaving us without a venue. We were told the booking had been cancelled as we are a mixed group, and because there were males in attendance, this wasn’t a “hen do” I feel that we were discriminated against due to the sexual orientation of the males in our group, which wasn’t disclosed when booking the house, as in 2016 we did not think this would happen! We were told our hen party wasn’t in fact, a hen party, and the whole situation was dealt with rudely and abruptly by Andrew. He told us he would refund our money, however didn’t do that until the next day. As you can imagine it was extremely difficult finding an alternative house for Easter weekend and incredibly last minute, and so to not transfer our money immediately upon cancellation simply made our situation even worse. We were most upset to be left without a house 3 days before our party, and to be told our booking was cancelled over email we found most distressing and unprofessional. Would not recommend!

Stonewell House - Absolutely Stunning

I have just come back from a 2 night stay at Stonewell House in Holmfirth. I booked the house along with 11 other girls for a friend's hen do and although we expected it to be nice and big, we had no idea how stunning the house would be. When I opened the double doors to the kitchen I literally stepped back and thought wow! The other girls did the same once they arrived too. The kitchen is definitely my favourite room and is so big and modern and also had lots of room for us all to sit around the table together. It's the perfect kitchen to host in. The bedrooms are all beautiful and very large. I was in the Master Bedroom on the top floor which is particularly stunning and the adjoining en suite with wet room is lovely too. I can't express how perfectly this house is finished off and of course the hot tub outside is an extra bonus. We found this house through the website and communicated with the owner by email and he was extremely quick at getting back to us at all times with any information we required and could not have helped more. I would 100% recommend this house and would definitely love to stay here again in the future. It really was what I and the other girls would describe as "your dream home."

Stonewell House

We visited this house as part of a girly weekend away, there was 12 of us in total. This property is amazing, the kitchen and dining area is very spacious and modern with all the cutlery, glasses and utensils you need. Outside there is a lovely seating area and hot tub. The bedrooms are spacious and really well decorated. The master bedroom and bathroom with wet room went down very well with the girls. The house is very well kept and the owners take pride in their accommodation. The house is very close to the town, I would say a 10 minute walk, walking back is up hill so a little tiring but from the village we got a taxi back around midnight for only £5. Lovely walk though to the village as you can see the views and all the lovely houses dotted about. The communication from the owner Andrew was very good as well, extremely helpful. In addition their other property Oaklands, appears to have a spa retreat attached to it so if you wanted treatments its right next door to the house.

"I booked Stonewell House for a 30th birthday, it's a perfect place to relax, as well as to socialise with friends and family. The house is very impressive and maintains a warm and friendly feel, that made myself and the other 14 guests feel welcome and at home. The facilities offered were to an excellent standard, the large range cooker made it easy for us to cook for all of us. I'd also recommend the hot tub! The surrounding area is very picturesque and we'll worth a walk around. Holmfirth village is less than a 10 minute walk away and has an abundance of pubs\restaurants. We ate at the Soul Kitchen which was great value and very nice. Overall, Andrew was very kind and made our stay very easy, even returning our lost property once we had left. I would not hesitate to stay again, and hope to do so again in the future."

Wonderful house, great location

We had a wonderful time at Stonewell House seeing in the New Year, looking over Holmfirth, watching the fireworks. All 3 families enjoyed the hot-tub. The house had everything we could have wished for and the utility was fantastic for our dogs.

Stunning (5 Star)

Fabulous, we stayed over a long weekend for a joint 50th Birthday in November 2013, there was 15 of us in total, all women aged between 21 and 56, Stonewell was perfect with the kitchen/diner being the main hub of the house…then, from the kitchen, through the patio doors, just a few steps outside in the cold, and into the hot tub…lovely We all loved the house from top to bottom there was plenty of room for everyone, it was just as the brochure showed. From the house it is a short work down the hill into Holmfirth where there are plenty of shops and pubs to pass the time of day. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of county walks around. We enjoyed our stay that much that we have already booked for next year. Thank you to Andrew the proprietor who was just a phone call away if required.

Wonderful stay at Stonewell house to celebrate my 30th birthday, perfect venue for a party weekend with my favourite girls, hot tub fabulous for gossiping and laughing in to the early hours and bedrooms with 4 beds, brilliant for getting ready like teenagers, kitchen ideal for pre dinner cocktails, overall a fab weekend and enjoyed by all!

"Fabulous!"

I Stayed here with my family and my best friends family in July for 5 days and we had a brilliant time. The house was perfect for us, the payout of the bedrooms and the segregation of the floors worked really well. Best part of the house is the master upstairs bedroom and bathroom, absolutely amazing, especially the huge open plan wet room. The views from the house are spectacular, you can see right over to the Pennines from the lounge and bedroom windows. There is a large garden and fawned area as well as a large patio which was ideal for BBQ's and of course the hot tub too which is huge and the kids along with us oldies virtually lived in it. The village of Holmfirth is charming and only a short walk from the house, plenty of restaurants and cafe/bars etc. well worth a visit, i would recommend eating at The Toad and Tatty which is a pub come restaurant on the road out of Holmfirth towards the village of Holmebridge. The house was spotlessly clean and the owners couldn't so enough for us, giving us tips on where to visit and eat etc, all in all a fantastic modern house that would appeal to anyone.

A Lovely Modern House

"A lovely, modern and very well-appointed house which we all thoroughly enjoyed staying in. Particular highlights were the large kitchen and dining area - perfect for the adults to get together whilst the children played pool and watched the huge TV in the lounge. Stonewell House

A beautiful house suitable for all our needs. Just one problem, the hot tub stopped working and needed a new part, so we were without for over half the week. No-ones fault, just unfortunate that it happened whilst we were there.
