Legioen Cottages Blakeney

  • Dit huisje voldoet aan alle eisen; uitstekende ligging aan de kust, 2 ruime slaapkamers met tweepersoonsbed, elke slaapkamer heeft een eigen privébadkamer met bad of douche. Er is een aangewezen parkeerplaats en een afgesloten patiotuin.

    Het interieur is inderdaad naar een zeer hoge standaard ingericht en uitgerust, met veel extra functies waardoor dit de perfecte woning is voor die luxe vakantie of vakantie.

    Blakeney is een mooie kleine haven en het huisje ligt op slechts een korte afstand van de kade. Loop door de charmante straten en steegjes om een deli te vinden, een paar kleine cadeauwinkels, cafés, 2 lokale pubs die eten serveren, een geweldig visrestaurant, een mini-supermarkt en het slimme Blakeney Hotel dat open is voor niet-ingezetenen.

    Er zijn boottochten vanaf de kade naar de zeehondenkolonie Blakeney Point, en wandelroutes langs de kust, een pad leidt naar de nabijgelegen Wiveton Hall, met zijn fruitboerderij, en een café / restaurant met uitzicht over de moerassen naar de zee.

    Langs de kust zijn de enorme zandstranden in Wells & Holkham, Cley Beach en verder naar Holkham Hall met zijn prachtige terrein en café en chique winkels op Burnham Market.

Very comfortable stay

Third stay at Legion Cottage. Perfect quiet location, with parking included, a gentle walk to the quay. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms. The plumbing is still noisy!

Provision of cloths and cleaning materials to enable a guest to freshen up the bath, shower and kitchen sinks. Also a toilet brush would be a helpful addition.Some hooks in the bathrooms to hang towels to dry would be helpful.Plus the addition of hooks in the lobby on which to hang coats and jackets.Apart from these minor issues this cottage is well provisioned, cosy and comfortable.

Lovely cottage in great location

A well presented cottage in a beautiful location. It was very well equipped and furnished - very comfortable beds. The ensuites were excellent. Booking was efficient and we appreciated the "welcome pack" Have visited before a d would ego again.

Super day in Blakeney

We had a wonderful time in Blakeney. The house was lovely and clean, well presented with plenty of utensils and kitchenware. The benefit of having 2 en-suite bedrooms was super for us being 2 couples staying there. The owner left us some goodies to enjoy. The weather was perfect for making use of the patio garden. There is plenty of cafes and pubs serving good food nearby. Lovely places to visit on the doorstep.

Autumn visit to Blakeney

The cottage is very cosy and well appointed. Nice to have two en suite bedrooms and a convenient downstairs loo and cloak cupboard. Conveniently situated - everything in the village is only a few minutes walk. Welcome pack on arrival - much appreciated. Highly recommended.

Another relaxing stay

Lovely relaxing week even though weather turned cooler. Cottage very clean and comfortable. Arrival instructions were clear (although we have stayed previously so know set up). Great to have dedicated parking space in Blakeney. Kitchen very well equipped although didn’t cook much as so many lovely places to eat locally. Lots to do in area. Will be back in future

Excellent house

We spent a most enjoyable week in Legion Cottage. The location, just off the High Street is quiet despite being adjacent to the British Legion/Harbour Rooms. The house is well equipped with appliances and well maintained. Both bedrooms benefit from en-suite bathrooms and there’s a WC downstairs! Beds are very comfortable and there’s an ample supply of towels. The kitchen could do with more (less stained) mugs but that’s a minor detail. The house comes with a dedicated parking space in the Harbour Rooms car park but we couldn’t unlock the bollard (reported). Overall a very good house which I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Our third stay at Legion Cottage which indicates our satisfaction of the property and why we keep returning Due to the superb weather this year we spent much time in the rear patio/garden for breakfast and evening drinks.This drew our attention to the lack of maintenance of the patio and the lack of a parasol for the garden table. Minor points but the only slight criticism worth mentioning

Lovely location and cosy cottage

The cottage is ideally placed in the lovely village of Blakeney. It has one parking space allocated although if you need additional parking, you have to take your chance on the busy street or a bit further afield. Not a problem for us but in peak months, may be a challenge. The cottage provided everything we needed. It was comfortable and warm for a winter break; we didn't use the log burner as it was just so warm. We were impressed with the furnishings and generous equipment provided including the welcome pack; all the basics and more were provided which is not always the case in holiday cottages. All was of a high standard and well presented. Cleanliness was ok. There was some cobwebs around the place and the bedding was covered in hair. I suspect it was from an outside laundry but was a bit off putting although we cleaned it up with some sellotape. We did have an issue with a leak from the bathroom into the lounge. We reported it promptly and it was seen to the next morning although nothing could be done. We had no further issues but there was residual water under the bathroom tiles which we also reported. Blakeney is an up market village with a well heeled atmosphere. Lovely walks and places to eat and drink, although not cheap. Overall a great stay with just a couple of niggles. We did have a great time though and would be pleased to recommend.

Reaxing stay

We have stayed in Blakeney a few times. This cottage is about 5 minutes' walk from the quayside. Car parking for 1 car, is in the Harbour Room car park, about 50 yards away, in a reserved space. The cottage was, apparently, built in the 1980s and has been well maintained. It is furnished and equipped to a high standard and has a pleasant courtyard garden. In this part of Norfolk, television programmes are broadcast from Lincolnshire, so no local news or information can be obtained. Radio reception can be poor. The adjacent Harbour Room, which is a community facility, does host live music evenings, which are quite audible from the cottage although not too intrusive.

Lovely cottage quality fixtures great location. May well come back. Very slightly let down by cleaning, dust on some surfaces and upstairs floors. Shower grubby around bottom of doors.

Lovely cottage in a great part of the country

We enjoyed our stay here. Nice cottage, clean and well equipped. Courtyard garden to sit in and relax and guaranteed parking too which makes things much easier.

Warm and cosy cottage

We had a great time in this cottage. It is very well equipped and and furnished and only a few hundred yards from the harbour at Blakeney. We would definitely come back.

We had a great week in Blakeney - the fab weather helped! We know the village well. The cottage was extremely well equipped with everything we could have wanted. It's beautifully appointed and was extremely clean and tidy and in a perfect location.

A lovely break

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this lovely cottage, which has everything you need, and more, to enjoy this lovely part of the world. The location is perfect for walking and eating in amazing places - it was a truly a restful break. The welcome pack was a lovely extra and we will look forward to returning to our happy place.

Weekend stay

Property was gorgeous and very well appointed. The location was perfect. Having said that we were very disappointed in the cleaning of the property especially in a pandemic. The the shower had two very long black hairs in the tray and area around the drainage was not clean. When we pulled back the sheets on the bed there was a long black hair I had taken all my own bedding to use. I would not have been happy to sleep in what was provided. I do not like to complain but feel you need to be aware of the situation. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

Delightful cottage in quiet location in Blakeney.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped, comfortable beds, and cosy when the weather was nasty. Only slight problem for us, was the parking not being beside the property, as the weather was at times extremely bad!
