Fantastic property
This house and property was perfect for our family of 10, ages 8 to 53. We really enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, deck, and spacious living area. Got a family volleyball game in as well! The kitchen and bathrooms were very well-stocked with everything we needed. Bedrooms were very comfortable. 20 minute drive to Homer was convenient. Highly recommended.

Big spacious house with tons on entertainment options
This house literally has every possible thing you would need to have a great time. You name it! Owner even has potted plants that really add warm homey feeling to the place. Great place to stay with extended family and friends!

Amazing location!
This property was beautiful and spacious. The kitchen is a cook and baker’s dream! Had all of the things needed for whatever you wanted to do! Just bring the ingredients! The living room is large, nicely furnished and so comfortable! It even has a piano! There were games of every type, books and a full sized pool table! There was even a dart board; just bring some darts . The views from almost every room were amazing!!! The deck was so spacious and again, The View!! Breath taking! Only down side was we didn’t have enough time to enjoy the hot tub on the deck or the sauna upstairs! The host was very responsive when I reached out with a question. We would absolutely recommend this property! It is about 14 miles out of Homer, but the drive is lined with the awesome beauty of Homer and the beautiful bluish waters of Kachemak Bay!

Beautiful property with great views and fun for everyone. We had a party of 9 adults and 3 kids and it was perfect for us. We had moose roaming through the yard and fantastic views across the bay. Check-in and out was a breeze and would definitely rent this property again.

At Home in Alaska
We were a family of 15, ranging in age from 3 to 64. We could not have found a more suitable home for our vacation. There were plenty of comfortable beds for everyone, two large living rooms to gather in, and a big well-stocked kitchen that seated us all. We spent most of our down time on the large deck that included a fire pit and hot tub. The views were absolutely gorgeous. There were several games to play in the evening, along with a pool table to enjoy. The little ones had plenty of room to run in the big yard, where there was a tether ball and volleyball net. The house is located a few miles outside of Homer, but the drive is breath-taking. Katlyn was very quick to respond to any questions we had. No one wanted to leave when vacation was over. Absolutely perfect!

Dream Vacation
We had a a large family gathering at this house. It was absolutely wonderful. The views were stunning. We had a mom and two baby moose walk through the yard. The house is fully stocked with everything we could have needed. The host was quick to respond to any questions or help we needed. We couldn't have been happier with our stay!

Six adults and 4 children stayed in this beautiful home. With 3 floors there was plenty of room and a surprisingly level of peace and quiet. Well stocked kitchen and loads of activities downstairs. Spectacular views!

The house and property were amazing! Every amenity needed, Katlyn was super easy to get in touch with and responded quickly. The view was SPECTACULAR and location was key as we were there for my brothers wedding the venue was just down the road. 10/10 definitely recommend!

Fabulous retreat with many extras
The large property has fabulous views. The kitchen is stocked with basic kitchen condiments with many extra accessories for cooking. The stereo system has options for inside along with outdoor listening. Plenty of space with a pool table overlooking the fabulous views.

Scenic beauty
We all enjoyed fabulous views, lots of room, hot tub on the deck. The property was as described. There was plenty of space for four adult couples. The downstairs bedroom has the furnace in it which made it a little hard to sleep through. The house was plenty warm enough to have the heat off at night so it was not an issue after the first night. Would definitely stay again if we were to vacation there another time. Katlyn was very attentive and super accommodating.

Amazing Property
Our family attended a wedding at the Diamond J Ranch and this property was very convenient to the venue. The property was extremely private, and the views were breath taking. The home has windows, windows and more windows. The kids loved playing tether ball, soccer and roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. But what we most enjoyed was the Mamma Moose and her new baby walking through the property every day.

Cleaning details don’t matter
Upon arrival we were greeted by cobwebs over the table, filthy floors, and clutter under the beds. Along with a lot of dust there were also socks, a shirt and books under various beds. One of the showers was wet and had hair on the walls. Most of the towels were down stairs in the laundry room not in the bathrooms where you would need them. The windowsills were also covered in dead bugs. And most noon the the beds in this “luxurious” home were creaky and plain uncomfortable. We contacted Katlyn immediately the evening of our arrival and she brushed all the dirty areas of the house off as little details and didn’t do anything to assist us. We spent most of the first evening cleaning the house. This house was definitely left by us in better condition then when we arrived, because as quests you must take the trash to the transfer station and have all towels and sheets in the laundry room and the machine running as you leave. At this point we still have not received our damage deposit back.

A few comments as to this review. You did contact me the evening of your arrival, and told me that one of the bedrooms was dirty, and that I didn't need to do anything, as you had already cleaned it. You only informed me of one sock that you found under one of the beds, some dust bunnies in that same bedroom, cobwebs on a lamp, and dead flies on the windowsill. You never requested anything to be done from me about any of your complaints. We leave enough towels in every bathroom for one towel, washcloth, and hand towel per person. Any additional towels are made available for use in the storage shelves in the laundry room. We do ask all guests to start a load of laundry before departure, as the laundry is the most time consuming part of cleaning. Most guests dont have a problem with this. We also ask that guests take any trash to the local free dump on the way into town, as leaving it outside of the house may attract unwanted critters. I am sorry you didn't feel the house was up to your standards. My records show that your damage deposit was returned to you 12 days ago. If you have not recieved it, you should take that up with someone at Vrbo.

Nice big house good location
Nice big house good location. We had six family members who all enjoy their privacy. The house was big and spacious and had great windows for view and light. The drive to and from Homer was spectacular and enjoyable every minute. Can highly recommend for family vacations

Fantastic views, great house for a group
The house is very well-situated to enjoy absolutely gorgeous views of the glaciers across Kachemak Bay, both from the large deck out front and the large living room inside. Beds were comfortable, and everybody in our group really enjoyed the house (and the small cottage). Although it's a little bit of a drive from town down East End Road, it really isn't that far and wasn't inconvenient. Speakers are set up for music inside and out. And we had moose come through the yard, which was a fun treat for all.

Great fishing and wildlife trip
Great place and good support from the property manager. The house advertises sleeping for 15. This is correct and the house is very large but there are really only 4 private rooms with queen or double size beds (including the cottage), so the rest of the housing is either pull out couches or trundle beds in a group room etc. this is fine but just FYI if there are more than four couples that would like privacy it gets a little tight. However, that’s a relatively small thing in the grand scheme. We had a great time and the house plus property was beautiful. It’s a bit secluded from town, which we preferred. Homer was a great town with lots of fishing and other opportunities. We also really loved a day trip to Cooper’s landing. Enjoy.

Great rental with beautiful views
We had a group of 11, ranging in age from 10-63, and we had plenty of room to spread out or all be together. There’s a lot of seating so everyone can eat together. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you’ll need. We enjoyed the beautiful views, the hot tub, and the pool table. We took advantage of all this rental has to offer. The kids loved the volleyball net and fire pit. S’mores are always a hit! It’s not right in town, if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s about 15 miles out of town but it’s a beautiful drive so we didn’t mind that at all. We saw moose almost every evening driving in/out from town. It’s on several acres so there’s no neighbors close by and plenty of room for the kids to run around outside. It feels like your own secluded paradise with beautiful views across the bay of snow capped mountain tops. Homer has a lot of great restaurants and lots of choices for fishing excursions, flight seeing tours, and water taxis to take you to quaint little towns, great hiking trails, and all kinds of adventures. There’s a farmers market on Saturday with a lot of great local wares and produce. There’s a lot of quaint little shops to visit in town, too. Katlyn was a pleasure to work with. She was always ready to answer any questions about the home or the area. I would recommend this rental for anyone visiting the Homer area. It’s a beautiful area and this rental has a nice large deck to enjoy that beautiful landscape. The pool table, hot tub, and volleyball net are a bonus.

Beautiful views!!!
We enjoyed the house. It was clean with comfortable beds. Enough space for five couples. We were really disappointed that the hot tub was not operable. That was the reason we picked this place, other than that all was good.

Beautiful view!
We had 13 adult guests in this lodge and never felt crowded. The view was amazing. The kitchen was well-equipped and roomy so we could all share meals with the combined table and counter seating. We catered several meals in because it's hard to seat 13 in a restaurant and it was so nice for all of us to eat together and visit about the adventures we'd had each day. We've stayed in several vacation homes that had hot tubs but few of them ever worked--this one did! The deck was large and there was plenty of seating so we could enjoy the view. The living room was also large with ample seating and the lower level game room was great. We played pool several nights. We didn't have little ones with us but the lower level would be a great place for the kids to play while the adults are visiting upstairs. The main floor and upper bedrooms were nicely furnished. We had plenty of linens for our large group, never ran out of hot water, and used the washer/dryer when the day's activities left our clothes dirty or smelling like fish! We also used the cottage and had 3 of our family sleep there. It's about a 15-20 minute drive back to town so you need to figure that time in if you've chartered tours out of Homer. The drive has some spectacular scenery so we didn't mind it and were glad we passed up some of the homes closer to town and chose this location. Katlyn was very responsive both before and during our stay. She answered lots of questions, gave me advice on places to eat and tours to take and really made us feel welcome. I would recommend this home to any large families visiting the Homer area. We had a terrific time on our vacation and no one wanted to leave. We fished, kayaked, watched bears, and hiked-- and every night we had a great place to "come home to".

Very nice House with great views and lots of room for our group of 7.
The house was large enough for our group and the WiFi worked and the owner provided an info sheet that contained the password. Being 15 miles out of Homer made internet connection important for us and it was available to us right away. In addition the hot tub was on, up to temp and clean. That was a nice attention to detail by the owner. The kitchen was pretty well equipped and we cooked a couple of nice meals which is an advantage of renting a nice house to enjoy together and tell stories of our halibut Charters and other adventures over dinner. The house makes you aware you are in Alaska and not just another house in the suburbs of the lower 48! The water is a little yellow but is filtered and does not smell bad. We used bottled water for coffee and to drink. The deck is very nice with lots of space, some chairs and great views including some glaciers. The cottage offered another bedroom and was a nice extra. We enjoyed our stay very much and the welcome package the owner provided (gourmet coffee beans and wine) was a nice start to our stay. We would stay again if the house is available in future years. There was some delay in travel from Homer to the house due to road construction but not too bad and that will wrap up soon.

Beautiful view in a relaxing setting
We booked this house for me and my extended family, many of whom had never been to Alaska before. The house slept our large group comfortably in the main house and the cottage out back. There are multiple rooms for entertaining on the first floor and in the basement, plus a pool table, sauna, and hot tub. We had excellent views from the deck into Kachemak Bay, the Kenai mountains, and glaciers on clear days. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, dishwasher, etc. with a washer and dryer in the basement. The house is about 20 minutes from the heart of Homer / Homer Spit area, so it was an easy commute and beautiful scenic drive for the various recreational opportunities in the area (fishing, kayaking, hiking in Kachemak Bay State Park, etc). We all left smiling, which is what you want on a big trip with families with kids from infants to teenagers, coming in from across the country. Highly recommended!

The most beautiful home away from home! Spacious, cozy and with the very best views!
Staying at the Sunrise glacier lodge was one of the very best holiday experiences we had in our lives! It is so friendly and cozy that it makes you feel at home right away. There were just five of us, but even in 15 we would have been very comfortable! The spacious living room is the "heart" of the home, overlooking Kachemak Bay with spectacular glacier views. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub out in the porch with the same amazing view. The kitchen is well-equipped, and of course everything was very clean and tidy. Important to know: It is 15 miles out of town, so the drive from and to Homer takes about half an hour, but we even enjoyed that "commute" because it is just such a gorgeous area! Plus, there are no direct neighbors which means we had a lot of privacy. We loved it, will certainly be back and would recommend the place to anyone!
