Pool and internet are good. Place looks attractive. Annoyed that I reserved a room with queen bed, but had a double bed. Twin beds not available. Trundle bed $38 US per night. Food on site pricey. Simple/inexpensive Chinese food nearby, as well as a surprisingly very expensive Chinese place.

Friendly, helpful, responsive, polite staff. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious. Rooms have an in-room refrigerator. Open air lobby has wonderful large fans for a full-time breeze. Restaurant (Haydn's) food is averagely good, and made-to-order. Gardens are very well-maintained. Oceanfront location, nice view of islands, but access not for swimming. Ocean water looks very clean; didn't see any trash in the water. Adjacent properties are various light industrial properties, but not obtrusive or loud. Separately run oceanfront open-air bar/bistro on the property. Not walkable, so consider the resort to be your one-stop shop. (We didn't use the casino facilities.)

Great service, good food, but room and pool issues
The hotel service was very nice. Food was pretty good. My room had a bit of a moldy scent covered by fragrance that caused my allergies to flare up. The pool area is open to non-guests and when I tried to use it there were a bunch of naked kids running around and jumping in so I didn't feel comfortable using it. Umbrellas at the lounge chairs would have been nice as well, but they were only above the dining tables by the pool. The room was spacious and comfortable but the scent of something in the air kept me from enjoying it.

I apologize that there may have been an issue with your room, i can assure you, if this was brought to the attention of management an immediate remedy would have been made. Concerning the pool area, we have now installed umbrellas over the lounge chairs, however these could have been shifted over to suit your needs upon request, We have plans of an additional "Guest Only" pool with stage 3 developments most likely commencing this year which will address this concern. The house policy is that everyone is to remain clothed or at least wear a bathing suit whilst using the pool facilities, however at times kids being kids, have to be reminded of this. Very disappointed
Coral sea used to be a lovely hotel with great amenities - unfortunately the quality has gone significantly down hill. Mould growing on the lamp shades, holes in the walls.. etc. For this particular trip, the entire hotel was booked out as friends were getting married! All of us paying around 350-400 aud per night. Unfortunately we arrived to the pool being empty (for 6 weeks). It was approx 35c every day. There was no prior notice of this. No offer or room upgrades, discounts, no apologies- nothing whatsoever. The staff, including the manager, were nothing but rude and unaccommodating, trying to charge for everything they could wherever possible. A once 4-5 star hotel is now a 3 star hotel at best. They can get away with this because there is limited competition. I advise staying at Heritage Park. Staff there are kind, polite, the rooms are good and the pool is full and functional.

Dear Anon, I thank you for the taking the time to leave a review via this channel - Your comments here are concerning as I had met and spoken with a number of guests from the wedding group party and heard no such complaints. I would be curious as to which manager you are referring to also. The local staff are in no way rude or unaccommodating, given at times, they may require some additional guidance or further training however, they strive to ensure all guests have an enjoyable stay whilst visiting or residing at the resort. This comment leads me to doubt the genuity of your review overall. We are awaiting the return of our executive housekeeper, however all department heads are charged with ensuring that the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and basic standards that can be found at other properties within Honiara, one of which you have mentioned above. The pool closure has been mentioned on all of our media channels and letters for each guest are placed in resort suites prior to check in, within this information provided it states that the Coral Sea Resort, during this period will transport and pay for in house guest use of any pool of their choosing within Honiara. If this information did not reach you, I would be shocked as i myself passed on this information to a number of guests within the wedding group party, with out knowing exactly whom made the review, i cannot be sure. Staff was friendly and helpful. They let us check in several hours early on short notice. The room was spacious and clean. The restaurant had several food options and wait staff was friendly and attentive as well.

Coral Sea is a great place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food and service. The only thing I think could be improved is upgrading beds from doubles to at least Queens.

Nice location on the Coral Sea; good restaurant and spacious comfortable rooms. Ours was sea view and perfect. No concierge to arrange tours; but they did deliver a great taxi guy.. Willie Alu, our man in Honiara !

Very pleasant stay, place is clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. Meals are nice too. The pool was a bit cloudy and green in colour which didn't invite us to swim even tho it was very hot. dead flies and old Christmas decorations could have been cleaned out too.

Nice and comfortable rooms although service was not so good. They did not pick me up at the airport despite several emails from my side for confirmation. I had to take my suitcase two floors up the stairs (they did not tell me that there were no elevator or send someone to help with it). Menu breakfast is a good idea but service is slow when you have to go to work. Every night there's music until 10 p.m. or later that can be heard from the rooms. Bottom line, too expensive for the overall service provided

Left stuck at airport.
The hotel was OK, but they messed up our airport pickup and left us at the Honiara airport for an hour late at night when the airport was closing up and everybody was leaving. We had to ask strangers for help to contact the hotel, which eventually sent the driver back to get us. Our pickup was reconfirmed with the hotel the previous day, but they didn't inform the shuttle driver that he would be picking us up along with other guests.

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Food at The Boardwalk was excellent. Would recommend the rooms with the sea view otherwise you just look across the grounds or to the restaurant. We were not quite sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised and would thoroughly this as a place to stay if visiting Honiara for a few days.

My short stay at Coral Sea Resort
Nice room, clean. Hot water is poor. Bed is double, not a Queen as advertised. Food and alcohol is very expensive. Also door to room is not sealed at all. Large gaps allowing noise and bugs including mosquito's to easily enter room. Wi-fi is poor, so slow that sometimes pages would not load and timeout. Also big issue is Wi-Fi is not encrypted so basically no security if you use the wifi.

The hotel was nice with friendly staff and a clean, comfortable and spacious room. The food at the restaurants was not good. The local area does not seem very safe, but the hotel has security guards and a gate.

This is the second place I have stayed in Honiara. It is ok.the rooms are clean. The staff is. Very friendly. But there really isn’t much to this place. The food is only so so. The WiFi is weak but that is common in the Solomons. There is a pool but it is about all the little kids have to do so it is packed with kids. No beach. Very limited ocean view. The bar takes up most of the ocean front and even though it is open air the smokers will drive you out. There is a casino on site and it is a good place to exchange money. Otherwise, it is a hangout for locals and not a really attractive addition to the Coral Sea.

Swimming pool overlooking Iron Bottom Sound and Savo Island Unfortunately pool maintenance would sometimes take nearly the entire day, and there was no posted schedule that I found. The no hats policy in the steakhouse dinning room - I'm fine with it, it's 'your house, your rules', but post them and enforce them uniformly. One security guy tagged me for going through the door with the my hat on, everyone else was OK as long as I took it off before I was seated. Both front desk and housekeeping staffs were very helpful during my stay. They couldn't do anything about the loud enough to hear in every room music every night, but it didn't run too late so it wasn't too big an issue.

I've stayed at this property on three different occasions now. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly, and the food at the restaurant is terrific.

Felt like we were checking into pub as we arrived during happy hour and check-desk in middle of busy drinking area. Entered so called waterfront villa to have view of restaurant and diners only. Spa on deck nice but when you are in full view of diners and bistro staff not so relaxing or even slightly waterfront as advertised. Restaurant and bar view villa would be accurate description. Villa was spacious and neat but no privacy from bistro/bar that is just metres from back door and so called private deck. Good though that we could wave bistro/bar staff and get dinner and drinks on deck as they were only a few steps away. Ok if a short business stay but not for leisure.
