The outside setting was beautiful. Except for the fact that they were cleaning the roof and you could not use the deck. I realize that needs to be done, but it would have been nice to know it was happening during our stay.
It was one of the things we enjoy the most, to sit out side and view the river.
When we arrived we were told that we were upgraded to a river view. Great!
The room was spacious and nice, until we tried to take a shower and the handle came off. They were unable to fix it. I understand things like this can happen, but we're told that we would need to change rooms to a garden view as that was all they had left, fine. The problem was the attitude that the staff had. There was no sorry about that or any type of compensation. The room was probably the worse one on the property. It was a view of the fire escape. It must have backup to the boiler room as the lights on the wall rattled all night, we ended up taking the off the wall. Bathroom sink was always backed up.
The front staff could care less. There was never a how was you stay or even a thank you for coming.
I thought maybe it was us, but I watched and that was how they treated many of the guests. A guest let them know the water cooler was out and the staff member rolled their eyes and sighed.
Needless to say we will not be staying at the hotel again.
I suggest that they have a little training for their staff in customer service.
