'Staying at a property comes down to what you are in town for (Mammoth Cave) and how much you want to spend to be there. For us it was just over $110 for 2 nights and it's much better than a $55 a night hotel should be. There are no frills, no breakfast, and not even an exhaust fan in the bathroom but... if you want to be in town and not spend much I don't think you will find a better deal.'

'I enjoyed my brief stay at the property. The check in process was unusual. I talked with the property manager via Ring and the place was unlocked. Also, I was initially unsure which room I would occupy. But everything got sorted out.
The location is very, very close to the street, but the building, which apparently was constructed in 1810, was so well constructed that any noises from passing traffic could not be heard. The room was quiet and comfortable.

'The Horse Cave Motel was a pleasant surprise. A standard older style motel in a small town that felt alot like home. I grew up in a small town, so it was fun to revisit an older style, well maintained motel.
The owners were very friendly, helpful and visibly worked very hard daily to clean and maintain the property. Very helpful and definitely a family affair!

'The bed sheets were not clean. Covered in both human and dog hair. Room was freezing. Looks to be an old converted shed sitting in a concrete pad. It was 5 degrees outside and we had a constant draft through the doors, windows, and cold air emitting straight from the floor. The home is old, which is no issue.
