  • Doe mee met North Shore Cottage in Keweenaw County op het Upper Peninsula. - onze locatie is ongeveer 3. 5 mijl van het centrum van de historische Calumet - maar toch rustig en genesteld in het bos omzoomde strand op Lake Superior. We zijn gunstig gelegen nabij alle attracties in de omgeving; Copper Harbor, Mt. Bohemen, Swedetown en het Houghton / Hancock-gebied.

    Het huisje heeft 1 slaapkamer met 2 tweepersoonsbedden en een verrijdbare bank in de woonkamer. De keuken heeft alle benodigdheden, plus extra voorzieningen zoals een magnetron en een modern koffiezetapparaat. De badkamer heeft een bad / douche. High speed Wi-Fi en Direct TV zijn ook inbegrepen. Onze locatie is schoon, goed onderhouden en volledig uitgerust voor een comfortabel en ontspannen verblijf.

    Het hele jaar geopend, kom tot rust en geniet van de natuurlijke schoonheid en de rust van de omgeving van het huisje. Je zal echt genieten van de schoonheid van het koperland en graag naar North Shore Cottage. Al meer dan 10 jaar openen we onze deuren voor mensen die het huisje jaar na jaar blijven bezoeken. We truly enjoyed the location of this home. It was a treat to hear the lake and the stream when the windows were open. We could have sat and enjoyed the view of Lake Superior and watch the birds all day. There is WiFi but a storm took it out for a bit. Thank you for sharing!

This cottage was everything as advertised. When driving up to the property my husband commented “Wow, this is it!” after staying in a few other areas that were not as quiet and private. Right smack dab in wooded nature yet cleared grounds for exploring. Steps away from Lake Superior, we were able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets as well as search for the infamous Yooperlites. The cottage had everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We’ll definitely be back for a longer stay!

The started off a little rocky, but our host was most helpful. We enjoyed wonderful weather (even thunderstorms in the UP are amazing), saw unmatched natural beauty, and managed to find a few special rocks. We definitely will come back.

This is a Gem!

I hate to say too much about this cottage, because then everyone will want to stay there and it will be booked solid. This Premiere Host has a way of keeping everything updated and cleverly arranged. Love the view! The neighbors (eleven deer) were as quiet as possible as they passed by the cabin at sunrise and sunset. It's just a special place. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Beautiful cottage poor communication

The cottage is beautiful. The view is amazing. But beware....there is no cell service when you get there, you will need to drive to the end of the road if you dont have the wifi password with you. We were not able to find the cottage. I had called and left a message for the owner even though the voicemail says not to and texted them trying to get help to find the cottage. I am still waiting for them to respond.

The weather let us down but North Shore Cottages did not! Check in and check out couldn't have been any simpler. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils we needed. The attention to detail, the thoughtful welcome gifts, and the care in the set up of the whole cabin was so nice and welcoming. Truly above and beyond! You can tell that the host really understands what’s important to us travelers! While we never needed to contact the host for any issues, all of their contact info was in the welcome book if we needed it and I just know they would have been happy to help if needed! My daughter and I enjoyed the easy beach access and all the amenities! Can’t wait to visit again some day!!!

Wonderful cottage and location on Lake Superior

Our stay in early May was wonderful! There were no crowds, beautiful waterfalls, interesting weather variations (fog , frozen harbor) and beaches for walking and rock hunting (yooperlites)! The location is great for exploring Keweenaw Peninsula. We enjoyed nature trails, lighthouses, historic copper mines, and the mineral museum. The sunsets at the cottage were beautiful. The cottage is very comfortable, had everything we needed (and more), and the sound of the babbling brook is so relaxing! The hosts were very welcoming with treats on the table upon our arrival (delicious homemade bread, coffee and more) and they gave immediate responses to questions. FYI the "tourist season" opens in mid-to-late May, so some stores and restaurants were closed or had limited hours. It didn't impact our trip as we spent most of our time outside enjoying nature without crowds and insects!

Perfect Getaway!

My parents and I really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Cottage was clean, quaint and had everything we needed. Aside from exploring everything the neighboring towns had to offer, we really enjoyed our time at the cottage. We had breakfast every morning on the picnic table with a beautiful view of Lake Superior in sight, rock hunted every night, star gazed and enjoyed a fire on the beach. We never had a chance to use the sauna but our wonderful neighbors we had behind us used it and said it was great! We kept the window cracked in the kitchen every night and enjoyed hearing the sounds of the brook that ran alongside the cottage as we ate together and planned our next adventure for the following day. 10/10 recommend! We plan to be back in the Spring. Thank you, Phillip!

Cottage on Lake Superior

Booked this cottage as a place to stay during the Copperdog150 race. Cottage offers a beautiful view of Lake Superior, bubbling creek along the side and is close to Calumet. No phone service, but Wi-Fi worked great. Would like to stay at this property in the summer when the beach can be explored more. Had a pretty hard time finding this property as it’s hidden behind the large blue house to the east of house 127 and you don’t have phone service to call the host. There were no house numbers on either house, which made it hard to find but would also be a concern if someone were to need emergency services. If you turn in the driveway and where the portside sign is, the cottage is back there. Was also disappointed that the description says the sauna is on the property, but it’s actually across the road (which might be the hosts whole property, but it’s portrayed as it’s close to the cottage). It isn’t a bad walk, but not as convenient as a few steps outside your door. Its more of a community sauna vs private to the cottage. Other than those two things, cottage was clean, tidy and had plenty of towels. Complementary welcome gifts were a nice touch.

The host was friendly and timely in respose. The cottage is perfect for our little adventure. Its wonderfully located on the lake, but close enough to town to enjoy the shops and restaurants. We ventured out to see Michigan Tech's winter carnival, checked out shops down town and snowshoed along the lake. It was exciting to have a little bit of everything. With realizing we missed some prime outdoor fun, Swedetown in particular, we are already planning to come back!
