  • Het pand is gevestigd op een historisch melkveebedrijf dat werd gebouwd in de late jaren 1920. Het huis is zorgvuldig ingericht om zowel een luxe en aantrekkelijke sfeer te geven, maar tegelijkertijd de integriteit en geschiedenis van het pand te behouden als een melkveebedrijf.
    De woonkamer heeft een prachtige grote open haard die perfect is om lekker in de buurt te liggen en wat quality time door te brengen. De keuken is erg groot en gevuld met alle benodigdheden die je maar nodig zou kunnen hebben, evenals nieuwe items zoals een popcornmaker. De eettafel biedt plaats aan maximaal 10 personen en vormt een prachtige achtergrond voor een onvergetelijk familiediner.

    Tijdens uw verblijf in het landhuis zijn er 3 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. De meester heeft een kingsize bed, de 2e slaapkamer heeft een koningin en de derde slaapkamer heeft twee eenpersoonsbedden. Het huis is erg groot en heeft veel coole ruimtes om te verkennen en te gebruiken, zoals een meditatieruimte, een serre, een afgesloten terras in de patio en meer.


    Het pand ligt op slechts een paar blokken van de stad. Waarom de auto nemen als je een mooie schilderachtige wandeling van 5-7 minuten kunt maken tussen de hoge dennen. Het terrein van het pand is erg groot en er zijn zitgedeeltes en tuinen rond het huis.

A Fun but Rainy Weekend

We liked the location, which was very close to town. Being a family of six, we needed four bedrooms and the house is quite large, but be aware the rooms are very small so if you're looking for an open space common area, this is not that house. The house was very clean and decorated very cute, in an old-timey way. Also be aware that while there are two bathrooms, one only has a bathtub and no shower. Since it was a very cold weekend, we had problems at first getting the heat to work for the whole house. Management was very responsive and helped with that, but with a split heating system (one unit for downstairs, one for upstairs), we had a hard time getting them both to work at the same time. There were also space heaters in some of the bedrooms but they were not very strong and took a long time to heat up. This all wouldn't have been a problem in warm weather, but that was not this weekend. The pictures in the listing are accurate as to the decor, cleanliness and neatness of the house. The private road to the house is not maintained well at all--full of potholes so low cars would have a hard time.

Reviewer Comments: I’ve been coming to Idylwild every year and this has to be to worst rental experience. I booked through VRBO like I always book my other stays.I booked it and I didn’t receive a confirmation until the day of.There was a huge Lack of communication and customer service.You get responses from multiple people so nobody is on the same page. The operations manager Sylvia was so unprofessional and even raised her voice on the phone with me during check in. They tell you can’t pick up keys because of cleaning and when I arrived to the cabin there were two spiders in the bathroom, one dead and one alive. The coffee press had old coffee in it, so much for cleaning! DIRTY! If they don’t clean that imagine the bedrooms! Hairs on the bed sheets! And bugs under the bed!I think the biggest issue is they say they have groundkeeper but they don’t disclose that the home of the groundkeeper (Daniel) is connected to the home. So it’s attached and can access the cabin. On top of all things the house is freezing! VERY ODD decor, a bit demonic if I must say.Pictures of little girls with demons on their laps is bad taste. It’s unfortunate that they allow these rental companies to scam people!

You can feel the love and inspiration of this home in every single room, there is so much charm and character everywhere you look. The home’s age gave it so much of its beautiful character, yet you still have all the modern essentials needed for your stay. I never thought my sons (ages 5 & 8) would enjoy a home as much as they did at the Dairy Manor. Our stay here in Idyllwild was exactly what we needed as a family, shutting out the world of 2021, connecting with each other, and with Mother Nature. I honestly couldn’t be happier then I was with The Dairy Manor!

Great getaway

We loved this old house with all its unique rooms and furnishings. The TV didn’t work but we didn’t mind. Was great to be able to walk to town every day! The furnace worked great and loved the popcorn maker!

Perfect get away

Rented this cabin out for me and a couple of coworkers for a weekend and we loved it. There were 7 of us and everyone had there own bed with one more bed to spare. Kitchen and dinning room perfect for everyone to be in and the patio is a great hangout spot. Would really recommend.

My experience was a lackluster and sad reminder that you get what you pay for — and sometimes not even that. I found this listing and was thrilled to see how much space and beauty was on this remote property. The check-in process was like this: - I was told I would be sent a code for a lockbox. I requested a curbside contactless experience. Well, so much for that. My boyfriend approached the office where a woman without a mask on came right within a foot of him to point out where the key was. I have severe asthma and it has been a terrifying time for me. To see her do something that reckless says a lot. - Do you like gigantic Maga flags? Well, you’ll love this neighborhood! Immediately, my heart sank. - We walked into the farmhouse. It was dark, dingy and terrible. The pictures made it seem kitschy and cute. It was far from that. I’m grateful I brought my own linens because the pillowcase has some sort of dark stain on it and the living room floors were disgusting. I didn’t take off my slippers the entire time. The couch was so bad, we never used the living room. Outside was even worse. There are other houses and structures on the property, including one side of the house that seems to be full of junk. That hammock? So dirty. Just awful. - I mentioned I have asthma. Bad asthma. I am recovering from a six month illness and have a special machine I use to breathe from — I told this to New Spirit properties several times before I came. Well, Sunday morning, we awake to multiple trucks blasting music and the sound of wood clattering to the ground. And no electricity. We decide to wait it out. Well, around 11, I needed to plug in my machine. I called the woman Lidia and asked her if she knew what was going on — and no answer. I text. No answer. I texted Monica, her manager. No answer. I finally got through. They said it was “an act of god” and couldn’t help me and it probably wouldn’t last that long but she’d call Edison. HOURS PASS. No word. I go outside and the men tell me that this is a scheduled maintenance, refitting. The owners would know this. They rented us a house without electricity which could have left me in a life threatening situation. We decided it wasn’t worth the $ to stay and drove back early. They won’t refund us for that last night so I’m talking to VRBO and they’ve asked for photo reference, which thankfully, I have. - One more thing: in their “zen room” it appears there is a camera. It was truly a horrible experience.

So Charming, Exceeded Our Expectations

This property is lovely and has so much character. The online description was accurate and, in fact, we were even more pleased once we'd seen it in person. This house has so much character and personality. We stayed with just our family of three and our dog, but it could have accommodated so many more. The property is thoughtfully prepared for guests and we had a couple of easy text with the manger just to ask simple questions. They were very responsive. The location is also another huge plus. We walked into town a number of times. It's not right on the main street so you don't feel like you're staying in the middle of town, but you can walk in if you want to and a couple of nights we swung into town to pick up takeout. The decor of the home is also very nice. It doesn't feel like a rental house it feels like a home. We would definitely love to stay here again and highly recommend it!
