The check in for starters is very odd. The first thing they make you sign is a disclaimer not to get the wood floors wet etc. or there is an additional charge. The next odd thing is we used the sauna located in the basement which is under construction. So it doesn’t really feel like the pictures. The next item, you need to use their sandals which you are required to deposit 25 CHF in cash per set. You cannot apply to the room or use a credit card hold etc. Not exactly welcoming or relaxing. Lastly, we had an early train so needed to be up at 5 am the next morning. At about midnight, we were woken up by water flowing from the ceiling onto the antique wood floors they mentioned numerous times. The fix was to have us leave our stuff in the room, try to get back to sleep after about 45 minutes of them deciding what to do. The craziest thing was they didn’t even dry the wood floors over the night and the wet carpet was still lying there in the morning as we had to keep stepping over to get ready, packed and out by 5. In the end barely got an apology for the loss of a nights sleep. No offer to discount the room, let me get you to the train station, whatever. This hotel does a lot of things right, but overall not impressed.
