Beautiful home and very hospitable owners. The room was clean (and the rest of the house), although the bathroom was a bit outdated. Breakfast was disappointing because it consisted of supermarket products that were put in the bedroom/fridge, thus breakfast was not freshly made. Moreover, wine and beer in the fridge were quite expensive (e.g., 20 pounds for the bottle of wine) and other stuff in the house were pricetaged which felt a bit weird (e.g., cute teddybear for 35 pounds).

Prachtig gelegen Lodge met heerlijke privacy
Hoog gelegen met prachtig uitzicht. De lounge met geweldige grote haard en comfotabele club fauteuil en sofa’s geven je het gevoel om even kasteeldame en of heer te zijn. Rachel & Marc zijn geweldige mensen due alles doen om het naar je zin te maken. Ontbij ; top top top. Jammerdat het maar zo kort kon duren.

Fantastisch mensen en mooie lodge
Wat een lieve mensen zijn Mark en Rachel. We voelden ons echt thuis in deze fantastische lodge. Het is bijna niet te beschrijven hoe mooi, smaakvol en sfeervol de lodge is ingericht. Wij hadden de Mary Queen of Scots kamer die zeer ruim en comfortabel was. Met Mark zijn wij een avond weg geweest op de toast to the King tour. Een unieke ervaring waarbij hij vertelde over de geschiedenis van Schotland en ons met zijn terreinwagen op veel bijzondere plekjes bracht waaronder een plek waar we herten konden spotten en een mooi uitzichtspunt bij de waterval. Mark en Rachel verzorgden iedere ochtend een uitstekend ontbijt waarbij we ook veel tips kregen voor bezoekjes in de omgeving voor de rest van de dag.

Fantastic little lodge
Highland Bear Lodge is a small, old hunting lodge. The rooms are BIG and the facilities are excelent. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help.

Amazing stay! Check in instructions were very clear and no issues finding the property. Room was stunning, bathroom bigger than my flat! Hospitality tray and in room breakfast was very generous. Hot tub was amazing and the robes were very much appreciated.

Fantastic stay in the Bonnie Prince Charlie room! So spacious and beautifully furnished. We also really enjoyed using the hot tub just right outside the door. Mark was super friendly and made us feel at home. We will definitely come back soon to this amazing property.

All I can say is Wow, Wow, Wow. We stayed in the Bonnie Prince Charlie suite and the room was absolutely stunning. You couldn’t have asked for more from a Continental breakfast or the room facilities. Sole use of the hot tub definitely added to the experience. I cannot rate this place enough

Okay - but small
Okay - but a little pricy for accommodation where you need to go into reverse to use the toilet 😀. Very quiet area - but requires some free time there to benefit from the surroundings

Great stay for something a little different
A lovely place to stay. Easy checking in and out. A very clean, well appointed shepherds hut. If booking please be aware that breakfast is cornflakes/instant porridge and a breakfast bar plus tea or coffee. This was enough for us but wanted to point it out as it might be helpful for others booking.

Great little hut. Very comfortable and warm and really peaceful. Bed was seriously comfy. Had enough sunny spells for some breakfast outside too which was lovely. Really close to Drumnadrochit for food and shops. Also really close to Glen Affric which meant I could beat the car park crowds when visiting without having to get up seriously early.

We stayed in one of the cabins on site and had a brilliant time, the visitor information was really helpful and included a short walk to a viewpoint of a nearby walk. Arguably our favourite night of a 7 day road trip through the UK

My partner and me had an amazing time . We were really impressed when we arrived parking was well signed keys were waiting for us and the cabin was super clean well maintained . We would definitely come back and highly recommend it for a night or 2 away from home .

Superb place to stay.
The hotel is excellent. Very tastfully furnished, very clean and comfortable. The lack of hot food might not suit everyone but there was a generous amount provided which could be eaten for dinner and/or breakfast.

A gorgeous place to unwind
This place is absolutely fabulous. Our room was massive, beautifully equipped and so comfortable. The continental breakfast was plentiful and a nice change from the norm.I cannot recommend the Highland Bear enough and the area where it is is absolutely stunning. Just Perfect.

Very special place. Quiet and very impressive. Although we didn’t meet him Mark was very kind and professional in that he telephoned us after our departure to tell us we had left medicine in our room and that he would post them to our home. Breakfast was provided in our room - not the full Scottish but more than enough for us. Overall 5/5

A fantastic stay in a wonderful property in a spectacular setting. Highland bear lodge is a great example of a traditional country house which is extremely well cared for. The light touch service felt in keeping with the property and we felt very well looked after. The breakfast and general room amenities were spot on.

We stayed it the Mary Queen of Scots room for our first night as Mr and Mrs. Very spacious, clean and tidy. A well stocked fridge for breakfast, and good quality soaps and furnishings. It was lovely to see the red squirrel feeding at the bird table outside our bedroom window. Great place to stay.

Place was very welcoming and check in was easy. Hut had all the things you could need for a short stay. Lovely welcome pack. Decor was aesthetically pleasing and made it feel very cosy. Shower was good too (good height for a 5 foot 7 person), however if you're 6 foot 6 like my partner you will have to crouch. The highest point of the hut is 6 foot 7. However, biggest let down was the bed. This ruined our trip as we booked this place to get a good night's sleep before our 10 hr drive back to London (we had been camping for the past 8 nights). The bedding had numerous strands of hair. On first inspection we thought oh well, but as we kept looking/rearranging the duvet we found the sheets covered in hair too. Luckily we had our sleeping bag. It was very strange as the rest of the hut was clean. Also the Driveway is on an incline up to the parking space and could do with improvements as there were numerous potholes and was difficult unless your driving a 4x4.

Wow, what a place. We stayed in the Bonnie Prince Charlie room and paid for the use of the hot tub. Room was huge, bathroom was clean and massive, bed was comfortable, had a great sleep *v soft pillows though*. Breakfast was more than enough, provided in room and available to take away. Hosts were friendly, views were great, near drumnadrochit to get places for dinner. Would easily stay again. The road in is quite bumpy, a challenge for low or small cars.

Magical Stay
Highland Bear Lodge is a Magical Place to stay. Room was immaculately clean, loads of space, and great views of the amazing countryside surrounding it. Breakfast set up in the room, was just what we needed to start a busy day of activities. Perfect location, lots of exploring to do n the area, and such a cosy magical place to return to after busy day. Mark was super helpful with tips and advise of where to go, what to do, and how to get there etc.. Recommended restaurant in Inverness, was a good shout especially with the discount card presented in our room. Superb place to stay, only downside, would inevitably be you'l want to stay longer... We will definitely return!!
