'This was the best stay of my vacation. I arrived earlier than I had announced, though there were no staff present at that time walking around the house was an experience. Though much of the house is under renovation it was gorgeous. Staff quickly checked me in and the room was absolutely spectacular, I felt like I was in a room for a prince. I very much look forward to coming to islay again and seeing the fully renovated manor and seeing if back up to its former glory. '

'Andrew and Alison are amazing!! Breakfast every morning is fantastic, and Andrew is great at helping you plan your day based on the weather, your bookings (book your tours in advance!) and your transportation options. Super quiet and you can walk into town easily! Go stay with them!'

'The staff are angels on earth! Karl helped me fix a ferry/bus schedule problem and saved me from being stranded across the island in the dark. Lorna saved me from another transportation oversight I made, connecting me with a taxi driver that kept me on schedule. Without them my whole trip to Islay would have been a disaster, but instead, it was wonderful! Oh, and the hostel is lovely, clean, informative, and peaceful. '
