The Brentwood Inn is a nice log, mountain style inn. The initial atmosphere is very cozy & inviting. The rooms are relatively spacious & nicely appointed. The bed was comfortable. There is a wine/cheese offering in the early evening but missed this because of dinner reservations in town. So no opinion. It was quiet overnight.
However - it goes downhill from there. Horrible mega-pothole at the driveway entrance. The front door sticks very badly & can almost not be opened without a good shoulder slam. The door to my room squeaked loudly. A simple spritz of WD-40?? No thermostat or in-room heat other than an electric oil, coil heater. This after long endless printed info regarding the “eco-friendliness” of the Inn. My room temperature was probably upper 50’s upon arrival. Chilly to be sure. Any noticeable thermostats around the building were set at 61 degrees. No visible after hours snacks, coffee or teas anywhere to be found for guests as you would expect at a B&B. Breakfast was especially disappointing. Luke warm coffee. Uncooked eggs, some kind of French toast with the visual & texture of a dish sponge sitting in water overnight. It was inedible.. It also seemed totally ok with the Inn Keepers for their dog to hang out IN the kitchen where food was being prepared & for him to wander around in the dining areas visiting guests. Totally inappropriate & wildly out of code regarding health department margins. We wanted to like the place but they need to do A LOT better.
