Check in time was supposed to be 3:PM. We called ahead to see about an early check in. We drove from out of state. We were told we could get an early 2 PM Check in but it would cost $50 more. We decided not to check in early. We arrived around 4PM and checked in. We were given keys to our suite. When we got there a cleaning lady was cleaning the room. It was not ready so we waited, standing in the hallway with our luggage for over 40 minutes. There was a language barrier. When we were allowed in the room there was visible mold on the ceilings & the room reeked of dampness. We went to the front desk and were given keys to a standard room and advised that the rate would be adjusted. When we got to that room there was a "do not disturb sign" on the door knob. That room had two unmade beds, the garbage cans were full and the room had not been cleaned. It is about 5PM and and we are now sitting in the hotel lobby with all of our luggage. We are tired after being on the road since 5AM EST. Finally we were given keys to another room, a goody bag, and are assured by a female who identified herself as the site manager, that this room was clean and available. At 5:19 PM we go to our room. We are tired and weary at this point. There was a dead bug and a large stain on the floor under the blue arm chair, food stains and dust on the desk area. We ended up buying mold&mildew disinfectant wipes, alcohol, liquid soap and masks so we could get some rest before the funeral next day. SHOCKED
