Dear Bashar,Our sincere apology for the unfortunate arrival that you had. Our day and night staff change over at 19h00 and you have just missed Elsabe. After 19h00 our night manager can be phoned for check-in and he will be able to assist guest within 2 minutes after being called. Unfortunately you entered through the motor gate when other guests left. We have a message on the gate at reception how to contact the night manager. You missed that by entering through the motor gate.I am really sorry that you had this bad experience and we will do our best that this will not happen again.

Peaceful and practical
At a reasonable distance from OR Tambo, in a safe and calm neighbourhood, President Lodge offered a refreshing change for 3 nights between 2 international flights. Breakfast was pleasant with a wide choice. There's a nice conference room (used and appreciated) and a small swimming pool (untested). There was no issue about cleanliness and the room was fine although I found the decoration to be somewhat drab but that's a personal opinion as I love colours. On the other hand, Internet was fast and the air-conditioner worked well during the heatwave. The owner was helpful and so were her employees.

Hi Andre,Was lovely to have you here and please come back. We try to have the room décor rather neutral so as not to offend conservative guests. we have a lot of Corporate clients but I agree that more color can be nice. We try with our colorful art on the walls.

rolling power outages-ask ahead
stay fri-sun and was picked up by the owners for 300RAND the uber was only 99rand but he was patient and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. the facility I loved. The layout was great. My only complaints were the Power outages. There is a schedule. This needs to be in the description. WARN the guests. I had food in the fridge. our heater shut off. I had business to conduct and I NEEDED wifi. Also, because there was no electricity, they could not offer the full breakfast. but they still had a fair option. Also, after the power restored the internet was still down for an hour or so. Please have a back up data service if you need internet. I wish it was warmer. I wanted to swim. I wish I had more time for the tub. The water pressure was GrEaT. the pillows were also really nice. If the electricity/wifi didn't cut out this would have been a 9.9 review.

Dear Halbert, Thank you for the positive points in your review. With regards to the negative points: In South Africa we currently have Load Shedding due to the electricity provider, Escom, that is unable to supply constant electricity and we are switched off randomly. They do have a schedule for power outages but do not stick to the advertised times. They are the only electricity providers and are regulated by the State. It is impossible to warn guests as to when the power will be cut. The internet was due to a problem on the provider, Vodacom's side. They did apologize for the inconvenience and fixed the system within an hour. They are also the only providers of fibre internet in this area. This is Africa and systems does not run as efficiently as you are used to in First World Countries. We do our best to make up for the inconvenience by providing excellent services in the areas controlled by us. Looking forward to your next visit. Regards, Elaine, Owner.

I really enjoyed my stay there the only thing I would complain about is I would like to use a telephone while I'm there.. Also I felt a little rushed when it was time to check out because the woman wanted to clean my Room.

We do need guests to check out at 10h00 ( check out time in most hotels the world over) in order to get the room ready for new arrivals. It was like staying with loving family. They went beyond making us feel at home. Even taking us to a Doctor when my husband was sick. Preparing afternoon tea for our visitors to enjoy. Special comfortable place, with very special people running the President Lodge.

Lovely outdoor area
This hotel was great our one day layover in Joberg. Ideal if you have a car, however there was a good family restaurant within walking distance. The included breakfast at the hotel was excellent. And the outdoor area was really nice. The owner allowed us to stay by the pool and veranda all day after checkout since our flight didn’t take off until the following evening.

Hidden Gem
Great little place tucked away in a primarily residential area. A great restaurant is within walking distance. The proprietor is very helpful and prepares a great breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Overnight
Excellent overnite stay as we continued thru Africa.. the owner made a feel at home. Set up transportation for us to have dinner close by.. the morning breakfast was plentiful and the accommodations extremely clean and comfortable.. would stay again in a heartbeat..

Close to the airport
We used this as a transit stay over in Joburg. Chilled atmosphere the managers smile couldnt be bigger when we arrived and immediately put us at ease. Great family vibe and value for money 100 percent. Pick ups very reasonable from the airport and a must given the issues there. As a place to rest and prepare for your onwards trip couldnt recommend it enough

From beginning to end the host at this property (Jannette, Elaine, and Deon) were absolutely AMAZING. The arrival greeting was very welcoming. The host go out of their way to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. Whether its recommending daily activities or restaurants to try. The rooms were exactly as described and pictured on the website, very clean and comfy. The food prepared fresh daily was DELICIOUS !!! I felt very safe at this property and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family traveling to Johannesburg.

We enjoyed our stay at President Lodge. The room was comfortable and breakfast was delicious. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting places that would be specifically of interest to us (wildlife viewing, restaurants). We highly recommend this hotel and only wish we could have stayed longer.

Great place, AMAZING hosts!
We were greeted with warmth and offered two rooms instead of one at the same cost as we were a travelling couple and single person. We had booked a family room and instead they offered us to separate rooms. The breakfast was wonderful and fresh, fast, and delicious. Hey made a great recommendation for dinner at a nearby restaurant. Elaine was more than helpful when I had to go to the clinic for an unexpected eye infection--she drove me there and was a lifesaver for that! President Lodge felt very safe and secure without feeling too much like you had to be barred in. Janette and Elaine were wonderful hosts and very accomodating. The son was also super friendly and helpful. Definietly a great stay at a wonderful place.

Fantastic hotel
I booked this for my husband and so didn't stay there myself but he said it was absolutely fantastic and would stay there again any time. He said the owners were really friendly and helpful, his room was large, clean and beyond all expectation.

Immer wieder hierher !
Ein professionell geführtes Bed&Breakfast, das offenbar auch von vielen Berufsreisenden genutzt wird. Ruhige Lage, Restaurant in der Nähe, gutes Frühstück, freundlicher, hilfsbereiter Service der beiden Inhaberinnen. Daß wir dieses B&B als letzte Station vor unserem Rückflug gebucht hatten, erwies sich wegen der Nähe zum Flughafen als perfekte Wahl. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were all very friendly, the breakfast and dinner tasty, the rooms were impecable. I have no complaints. A special thanks to the driver Harry who not only drove us safely and on time, back and forth President Lodge, to the Apartheid museum and then to the airport. Good price, and he even kept all of our bags safe during our stay at the museum.

I was pleasantly surprised at the standards. Only flaw was the poor workmanship on the shower floor causing slow drainage. Still I would highly recommend this place.

Wow service at President Lodge
We stayed 2 nights on our way from Botswana to USA. The room was perfect, dinner was perfect and so was breakfast for all the 2 days. This is women owned business , they are phenomenal! Check out is 10 am and my flight was 11:19pm so the owners agreed for my evening check out without any extra charges . They go an extra mile to accommodate their customers. I reccomend anyone to try this lodge out, it's worth it.
