Welcome to Traveler’s Dune, a thoughtfully curated desert retreat for travelers at heart. Perfect for solo stays or couples, it’s a place to slow down, recharge, and dream again. Tucked in a quiet neighborhood just 5 minutes from the town center and 10 minutes from JTNP West Entrance, you’ll enjoy both convenience and peaceful seclusion. Spend your days unwinding under the desert sun and your evenings embracing the stillness under star-filled skies. Just a short walk to a gorgeous local trail!

The space
Inside, you’ll find a warm, Afro-boho inspired space created to feel both relaxing and inspiring, whether you’re here to unwind or tap into a more creative rhythm. One bedroom offers a cozy, restful setting for a good night’s sleep, while the second has been intentionally designed as a dedicated office space, perfect for remote work, journaling, or planning your next adventure.

The home features a well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge, stovetop, microwave, cookware, and all the essentials needed for simple meals and slow mornings with coffee. You can unwind indoors with a curated record player and a selection of timeless vinyl, stream your favorite shows on the Smart TV by logging into your own accounts, or settle into comfortable bedding designed for deep, restful nights. High-speed Wi-Fi is available when you need it, while the overall atmosphere encourages you to disconnect and be present. Step outside to relax in the hammocks or gather around the fire pit, perfect for slow desert evenings under the open sky.

Step outside and you’ll find multiple spaces designed to help you fully enjoy the desert experience. Whether you’re soaking in the hot tub under the stars, cooling off in the cowboy pool during warm afternoons, or relaxing in a hammock with open desert views, each area invites you to slow down. Evenings can be spent gathered around the fire pit or cooking outdoors on the BBQ, and for those drawn to the night sky, a telescope is available to explore the stars in one of the clearest skies in California. Surrounded by quiet and wide-open desert, the space creates a sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere.

Guest access
Guests have full, private access to the home and the main fenced portion of the property, where the hot tub, cowboy pool, fire pit, and outdoor amenities are located. The short driveway leading down to the home is sloped, but the parking area, home, and backyard are all on level ground for easy access.

The backyard is fenced on three sides, with one side intentionally open to preserve the natural desert views. The adjacent lot beyond the open side is private property and not part of the rental. While it adds to the sense of space and scenery, we kindly ask guests to respect this boundary and not wander onto that land.

A locked storage shed and a few cabinets are reserved for maintenance use and are not accessible to guests.

Only registered guests are allowed on the property unless prior approval has been given during the booking process.

Traveler's Dune is a pet-free and smoke-free home.
We care deeply about keeping the space clean, peaceful, and comfortable for all guests.
Families traveling with a toddler or infant are welcome, just keep in mind that the home isn’t equipped with baby-specific items like cribs or high chairs. Parents are fully responsible for their child’s safety and supervision during the stay.

Road Conditions
All roads leading to the home are paved. The driveway is unpaved, with a short sloped approach leading down to a level parking area.

Security Camera
For safety and peace of mind, there are two exterior camera facing the driveway only.
No cameras are located inside or in private areas.

Desert Wildlife & Safety
Joshua Tree’s desert is full of life and natural beauty. Encounters with wildlife such as coyotes, snakes, or scorpions are rare, but it’s important to stay aware and keep a safe distance if spotted. Watch your step around cacti and other sharp plants, and respect the natural environment during your stay. By booking, guests acknowledge and accept the natural conditions of the desert landscape.
