'Our 1st night, 6/2-6/3. the staff was not expecting us. someone was in half of our villa, one couple had to sleep on the couch. Alberto did his best to make us comfortable. 'We really enjoyed our stay here, you WILL need to rent a car (ideally one with 4WD/AWD) to get around the island, so keep that in mind. The family that runs the place is super cool and helpful. The main drawbacks were the heat and the bugs. I don't think the heat would be as big a problem if we weren't staying in the Yurt and we're instead staying in one of the more airy tents. 'There were many great things about St John USVI, however: 1. You will absolutely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The grade leading to the Villa is about 40%. 2. You need to bring enough stuff to wear for the entire trip... no washer/dryer. 3. You'll need to eat out most meals unless you like doing dishes on vacation... no dishwasher. 4. If you were hoping to use the recliner in the pictures... well think again. 5. If you're from a big city on the East Coast with NYC type values, threaten to leave...
