Mooi huisje in het hart van het platteland van Cognac

Prachtig vakantiehuis in de wijngaarden van Cognac, op korte loopafstand van Le Golf Du Cognac en op een steenworp afstand van de mooie steden Cognac en Jarnac.
Beveiligde woning met uitgestrekt terrein, weilanden en bossen, een rustige locatie waar u kunt ontspannen bij het zwembad en kunt genieten van al fresco-diners in de onlangs uitgebreide en uitgeruste zomerkeuken of kunt genieten van een picknick in de weide met wilde bloemen.
Het vrijstaande huisje biedt een volledig uitgeruste keuken-diner en u kunt uitrusten in het gastvrije luxe tweepersoonskamers in Franse stijl met een super kingsize bed en een eigen badkamer.
Beddengoed wordt verstrekt, samen met badjassen en bad- en zwembadhanddoeken.
Er is keuze aan voorzieningen in de buurt en lokaal hebben we veel restaurants: van Michelin-ster tot klassieke Franse bistro, allemaal binnen 10 minuten rijden.
Ideale locatie voor een romantische of een ontspannen vakantie het hele jaar door. Toch is er genoeg te doen en te zien en een week zal u slechts een glimp van deze fantastische regio bieden!

Beautiful cottage and grounds. Super clean pool which we had all to ourselves. The cottage was very well equipped with everything needed to start the holiday. Excellent hosts who were really friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable about the area and were happy to book trips for us and advise us on places to visit. A lovely welcome and we felt very relaxed and at home. We are keen to go back again.

Glorious oasis near Cognac.

Couldn't have asked for better hosts in Mark and Lydia. Nothing was too much trouble. Gave us excellent suggestions on anything from where to eat, places to visit etc. Even offered to book restaurants and wine tastings for us. The gite was perfect for us as a couple. Plenty of room and also very tastefully decorated. The bathroom was huge with an equally large walk- in shower. The swimming pool, outdoor kitchen and seating area really is something else. It's stunning! Beautifully surrounded with mature trees. If you're after a quiet spot for reading, you can't go wrong relaxing on the double swing seat with the only sound coming from some birdsong. It was pure bliss. Thanks again Lydia and Mark for giving us such a fantastic holiday.

They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Superbe séjour chez Lydia et Mark!

Nous avons passé 1 semaine chez Lydia et Mark et tout était parfait : l'accueil très chaleureux, le logement très propre, bien équipé et joliment décoré, les espaces extérieurs sont magnifiques (avec un bonus pour le potager!) et la région offre beaucoup d'activités. La cuisine d'extérieur autour de la piscine est très agréable. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le panier de bienvenue fourni par Mark et Lydia ainsi que les indications sur les activités, restaurants et bar aux alentours. Nous ne pouvons que recommander ce logement pour séjourner dans les environs de Cognac !

A fabulous week in Le Dolmen

Fantastic place with perfect hosts. Bed extremely comfortable, swimming pool, vegetable garden and summer kitchen excellent. Great base for cycle rides around the area. This really is a delightful place to stay. It’s located in beautiful surroundings; within easy reach of Cognac and Jarnac. Un vrai oasis de calme dans la Charente

Les propriétaires (Lydia et Mark) étaient super charmant et sensible à tous nos vœux et besoins. Le gîte est tries bien équipé, de haute qualite et sans faute. Dans un endroit tres calme on peut ‘souffrir’ des oiseaux qui chantent chaque jour et marcher sur un grand terrain sauvage. Avec un superbe piscine (plus un plancha grillé et deuxième cuisine extérieure) et parking privée, ce gîte est vraiment un petit trésor. On va revenir. Grand merci!

We stayed at Mark & Lydia's gite for a week, and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The gite is amazing, particularly the luxurious French style bedroom which is simply beautiful. The outside kitchen and pool area was excellent and we loved eating outdoors, sometimes cooking, sometimes simply enjoying some wine & cheese. Mark & Lydia provided a lovely welcome pack, and a most generous introduction on our first evening there - thank you both so much. They were always on hand to provide advice and suggestions and were wonderful hosts. We didn't venture out too much, but very much enjoyed a trip to St Palais sur Mer which was a beautiful spot by the sea, a visit to the Hennessy Distillery and we also a visit to Angouleme during the classic car rally. The only disappointment for us was not having the pool area to ourselves for the entire week as 4 house guests arrived midway through our stay and shared the pool area.

It was once of our best place in france. Thank you Lydia and Marc for your great and open hospitality. The place is very closed to the pretty city Cognac and other nice places arround. But you dont like to leave the nice pool and the garden because it is a little oase for recreation. The recomandation from Lydia and Marc for restaurant and destilliers was great. Perfect Holiday Rental

We have rented many holiday homes during our travels in France. However, this is without doubt the best one we have had the pleasure of staying in. It is located in a beautiful and peaceful location yet close to a wide range of picturesque and interesting villages and towns with a great selection of local restaurants. The gite is beautifully furnished and provides quality bed linen and towels not to mention the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! The pool and outside cooking area are stunning with plenty of sunbeds available some of which are in shaded areas to escape the midday sun should you require to do so. Lydia and Mark were wonderful owners who were non-intrusive but were always on hand to offer advice on places to visit or a wide range of restaurants to eat at, and nothing was too much trouble. On arrival we found a personalised hamper containing a wide range of high quality food and drink items until we a had the opportunity to stock up at the local supermarket less than 10 minutes away. We are so pleased to have discovered Gite Dolmen and can't wait to return for future holidays. Thank you Lydia and Mark for making our holiday so special!

Amazing Gite in the Charente

It is five star accommodation in the middle of the beautiful Charente region. The location is perfect and the house has everything you need and much more with it's kingsize bed, beautiful bathroom and stunning swimming pool. We wil recommend it to everybody!!!
