Weeks after booking her reservation with us, Karen asked if she could have have an exception and bring her dog, Riley. We replied that our pet policy is firm. Unless someone has genuinely certified service dog, no pets are allowed on the premises.
Towards the end of her stay, Mrs. Kuchan clogged the dishwasher and asked for a plumber to come and address it. When the plumber arrived later that day to unclog the dishwasher, he was shocked to find a dog raising its nose at him as he walked in.
As explicitly stated in our rental agreement, we confiscated Mrs. Kuchan's security deposit for explicitly violating our pet policy.
Please read through our reviews; you will find that the only negative reviews we receive are from those who face consequences for blatantly violating our policies.
Also, to address Mrs. Kuchan's claims. The house was built in 1981 and completely remodeled in 2012. Copper sink custom made in Guanajuato, new dishwasher, new double oven, geothermal heat system, solar panels, all new tile throughout the chalet, new lighting, etc.
The kitchen is replete with appliances and cookware: crock pot, bamboo steamer, pots, pans, rice maker, multi-burner electric oven, coffee grinder, coffee maker, etc. They aren't all from the same exact catalog because we are constantly replacing them, but it is indeed a full and complete kitchen setup.
While the microwave is indeed older, it is more powerful and more reliable than modern microwaves.
There are curtains in the master bedroom. Please see the photos in the listing and on our website. As demonstrated in the photos, in the Elsie and River rooms, there are not curtains on the slanted windows.
As we communicate to all our guests, and post on the wall in front of the refrigerator, the jacuzzi is on an electric heater (the entire chalet is off propane) and it can take several hours to heat. Should you give it sufficient time to heat up, it works great.
The vast majority of our guests are wonderful, respectful people who treat the chalet like their own home. Rarely, we end up hosting individuals who feel that they are entitled to break the rules. And, when they face consequences for their actions, they act in a disingenuous and passive aggressive manner in their reviews.
