De Master Suite in dit huis is adembenemend en staat op een derde verhaal. Het is moeilijk om te beslissen wat mooier is ... het uitzicht op de oceaan of het uitzicht op de bergen. De suite heeft airconditioning, maar je hebt het niet nodig omdat je in slaap wordt gesust door het rustige geklots van de golven op het strand en de koele zeelucht. Het huis is slechts een huis verwijderd van de toegang tot het strand of ongeveer 50ft afstand.

2e slaapkamer heeft een queensize bed en bevindt zich op het hoogste niveau (2e verhaal). Deze kamer heeft ook AC, een futon en een uittrekbare bank.

De keuken heeft alles wat u nodig heeft en opent naar de woonkamer en eetgedeelte aan beide kanten. De gewelfde plafonds maken het erg licht en luchtig. De woonkamer heeft een queensize bed en een lits-jumeaux bed waar ook een tweepersoonss onderschuifbed onder zit. Dus met de toevoeging van uittrekbare en een futon in de 2e slaapkamer zijn er verschillende accommodaties voor extra gasten. We verwachten niet dat je alle beddenopties zult gebruiken, maar het is zeker leuk om zo'n breed scala aan opties te hebben voor het geval je groep erom vraagt.

Het huis wordt geleverd met alles voor het strand: stoelen, strandmatten, koeler, boogieplanken, surfplank en nog veel meer.

We enjoyed our stay. Such a great location…an extremely nice beach was just a few minute walk. Very convenient. The house had everything we needed, and we had plenty of room. Washer & dryer in the house was really nice to have. And the host was great. Any questions and/or concerns were addressed immediately with a simple text message. As I said, we’d definitely stay here again.

Family Vacation

Over all the it was a good stay at the property. The beach is a quick 1 minute walk so super super close. The pictures are very accurate. It is an older property but with work for my family and I. It was 5 of us and it had everything we needed. The only thing I would say is that the AC unit in the downstairs bedroom would leak water when left on too long. But it was a simple fit of putting some towel down and turning it off when we were out. Nothing that truly disturbed our stay and the closeness to the beach and quite neighborhood made up for it. We would defiantly stay here again.

Perfect beach house

Our family of 8 fit great in this beach house! We enjoyed sunrises each morning and walks on the beach that is just steps away down the private path. The house had everything we needed and it's located on a quiet private road. The host was great and check in/out was easy! We loved our stay here and would definitely stay again and recommend to others. We loved the location and it was easy access to everything we did The house could use some updating/remodeling, new towels, beach towels and beach chairs/gear but other than that, staying here made our vacation fabulous! Steps to perfect beach

Prior to booking this home, I read many reviews. Many were great and others, not so great. My husband and I are laid back and decided to go for it. The couple we traveled with aren’t as laid back a us! The photos of the home in VRBO look great and so does the write up. Overall, the home was very comfortable once you got over the initial arrival. Like previous renters states, it is an area above a garage that was converted into an apartment. When you walk in door(which was hard to lock and unlock), there is a toilet/ sink room and a separate shower room. As you walk down the hallway, you pass the washer and dryer to the stairs leading up to first floor. At the bottom of stairs is where you find a stack of gently used beach towels, that worked well for our group.Once up the stairs, you enter a galley kitchen with plenty of dishes, pots/pans, cups, coffee maker, coffee cups. The only thing there weren’t enough of was forks, but we managed with spoons. In this area, there is a dining area with 3 seats at top of stairs and then once thru galley kitchen, there was a bar style table with 4 chairs and some stools. We used this area nightly for card games. On the other side of the galley kitchen was a half wall that opened to a “living room” with a TV, futon bed and daybed. We didn’t go to Hawaii to sit in a house, so we only used this area as a bedroom. Then there was a door to a bedroom with Queen bed, a futon and a couch. My husband and I stayed in this room and the bed was super c

Enjoyed our stay

There were 7 of us, 4 adults and 3 children. Having the beach so close to the home was wonderful. The home had everything that we could have needed - from dish soap, bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, paper towels and bathroom tissue. That made it nice. Beds were very comfortable. It was really hard to keep the kids quiet as requested. The parking was on the street because the renters downstairs were only allowed to park there. The kids enjoyed using the boogie boards at the beach. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Black Mold Infested Home

This house has a great location but is covered in black mold. The smell hits you as you enter and you can see it visibly throughout the house. I don't like to write bad reviews, but I wish I had known that this home wasn't safe to live in before I planned my vacation around it. We ended up sleeping on the couch of our family's home nearby. Didn't get refunded either, which is on Vrbo in my opinion.

Leaky roof, mold, dirty

We were so excited to stay here, but it needs some serious work before other people stay here in the future. When we arrived, the door code had been changed so it took an extra 15 min to get it from the contact listed. Not a big deal. Inside it was tidy, but dirty and old. The deal-breaker was the puddle of water inside the living room, above which there was mold and rotting wood where it has been leaking from all the rain. It rains a lot in Hawaii and the contact for the property said he thought they had fixed the roof 6 months ago so this was clearly a chronic problem. The contact was nice to offer an alternative property but it was old and we imagined how dirty it would also be given the state of the current property. It was also late and we didn't have the energy to travel to it and then to the hotel if it didn't work out. So VRBO was kind enough to relocate us into a hotel. We were very saddened by the experience. We wish that this option was as good as it looked in the ad given it's location.

Perfect location but could use some updates

Pros: The location is perfect, I counted 200 steps to the beach. The owner provided beach towels, chairs, toys, boogie boards. We love the beach and really enjoyed being able to see the sunrise, go back to sleep, and then having a whole beach day within steps. The shower/bathroom situation was good. We especially loved the outdoor shower and the shower on the lower level being separate from the bathroom. Since everyone fights over who gets to shower first after the beach. They have lots of pots and pans, and serving dishes. No dishwasher, but a big sink for handwashing. I saw earlier reviews complaining about food being left behind, but I appreciate having certain staples so I don’t have to buy them. I would suggest doing an inventory of spices and things you would want to have on hand for cooking before you go grocery shopping. There was a propane BBQ, and the owner provided a tank. We grilled a lot, and that was tacky appreciated. There are plenty of places to sleep, my brother and his kids took one bedroom and me and my kids took the “master” bedroom and the common area. But wouldn’t suggest renting this place with someone you are not comfortable sharing right quarters with. Cons: They need more forks, for some reason there are only a handful of forks and lots of spoons and knives. There are quite a few windows that don’t have screens on them. The kitchen faucet needs to be replaced. It’s a crap shoot how to turn it on/off or hot/cold. When you are washing

We loved the location. House was fine as we are laid back family. I had several questions early on about the house and taking care of the property ( where light switches were, what we could use, etc) for the property manager that I messaged in the VRBO app but never got a response. We were a family group of 9 and we fit but property probably more comfortable with 6 people.

We had a great stay! It was located right by the Marine base and it's only a couple yards from the beach. We where able to cook for our while family which was nice! Safeway and other stores aren't that far. They had plenty of beach towels for the whole family. The laundry machines worked great. Highly recommended.

Amazing location

We loved so much this beautiful property, is just 2 minutes from the Kailua Beach, very convenient when you travel with kids and they want to be at the beach mornings and afternoons for play and relax. The house is well equipped with umbrellas, beach chairs, boards, toys and beach towels. As soon as you arrive the property you can go directly to the beach, you'll have all that you need. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need. The wind at night is delightful! The house has plenty of windows. Mark was very accommodating with our early check-in and check out, easy to work with. We would definitely book again! Thank you for everything Mark, we had a wonderful family vacation at your house.

It's a good idea to inform your guests that they need to be able to climb a stairway to get to the dining and sleeping area in case they may not be physically able to do so. The photo on the ad gives you the impression the living area is on the ground floor. It was comfortable for my family of six. Some of the small kitchen appliances need to be cleaned of thrown out.

Great for our family

Went in early April so weather was mid 80’s and strong breeze. It has an authentic feel vs a high end/modern vibe. Its functional and beautifully located. We didn’t try the air conditioners so can’t speak for that. There were a few outlets that didn't work and struggled with the internet a bit (too stubborn to just call the owner, but when I did he had us online immediately. Loved having the outdoor shower, indoor first level bathroom with shower and laundry downstairs kept all the sand downstairs on the easy to sweep tile floor. Loads of beach towels to use, one house walk to a beautiful beach. Kitchen had loads of supplies to cook and with several different rooms everyone has some space. Parking was right in front, backyard was nice to relax in (yes the house next door is under construction but its nearly complete so they were doing paint touchups and landscaping, likely done by the time you read this) and it was super close to plenty of shopping. I would totally stay there again.

DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY!

Do yourself a favor. If you have any standards at all to not book this location. Completely misrepresented in listing. So much so that we were forced to find other accommodations in the area after our arrival and initial walkthrough. We expressed our concerns immediately to Matt and were basically told to pound sand. "Master Suite" is nothing more than a bed in a converted attic/bonus room. No closets. No TV. No bathroom. Not even the largest bedroom on the property. Shame on VRBO for allowing this. VRBO customer service rep couldn't even give me what their definition is of a master suite (don't ever count on them for true customer support). Electrical issues throughout the property including kitchen lights that didn't work, electrical tape over non-functioning light switches, missing fixture covers and no lighting (or handrail) in stairwell leading to the "master suite". Paper towels and tissues stuffed into screens which we assumed was meant to plug holes and keep bugs out. Outdoor shower filthy. Dirty refrigerator. Dirty HVAC vents. Major active construction next door (which I was told 2 months prior to our arrival would be completed other than landscaping) with any ocean views nearly completely obscured. I could go on but I'm sure you get the picture. Bottom line is there are many, many other properties to consider when vacationing in Kailua. Do not rent this property.

Great house very close to a fabulous beach.

Lots of things we loved about this place, beyond just the proximity to a wonderful, safe beach. The house has lots of character, with what appears to be new floors and ceilings, and is well equipped, with beach furniture, outside shower, lots of fans, etc. A few things would benefit from being updated (stove, cutlery, kitchen tap, BBQ) but these are all relatively minor. The new build next door has taken the seaview from masterbed room of the house, but this doesn't really matter as it's only a few steps to the sea. Future guests are advised to bring eye masks to sleep, as there are no curtains, and also to try both of the entry codes given (the one given to us in the only email response from the owner was incorrect, but the other code in the standard notes worked). Overall a great place for a chilled family holiday.

We arrived on schedule at the unit. Great location, located a few houses from the beach. The mechanical lock box was not working, either the code given was incorrect, or the batteries were dead. I texted, and called the owner Mat at the contact number given, over an hour went by, no response. The tenant who owns the other half of the house walked by, I told him who we were, and that we needed to contact Mat, he said something to the effect of “good luck, I’m try to get a hold of him too”. It was getting dark, almost all of the hotel rooms on Oahu were full. You ask yourself, what happens if this person does not get back to me? What’s my fall back? I waited about another 30 minutes, I called and called the contact phone, nothing. We drove to Honolulu and stayed at a hotel. Mat did finally respond, sometime between 90 minutes and two hours later, he gave me his actual contact number, why this is not given when the property is booked is a good question. It was a very stressful and totally avoidable situation, if we had either been given the correct code, and or the batteries were working, and or Mat provided a good contact phone number then none of this would have happened. We also noted that there is a very large new home being built right next door, expect construction noise, and it would appear that the new house will block most or all of the ocean views.
