WAUW !!! is altijd het eerste wat ik van gasten hoor. ZO VEEL SCHOONHEID!

Op zoek naar die authentieke Hawaiiaanse thuiservaring? Dit is het. Eet van het land en sta versteld van de prachtige bloemen en vogels.

Dit huis is een echt pareltje. Prive, comfortabel, ruim, rustig en ontspannend; U zult genieten van de weelderige. luxueus landschap in dit vredige paradijs, weg van de drukte, maar toch dicht bij vele ongerepte stranden. Dit een hectare grote landgoed is gelegen in een van de meest gewilde buurten van Kona, vier mijl ten noorden van het dorp Kona, op 900 voet hoogte waar de dagen 10 graden koeler zijn dan de kust en de luchtvochtigheid veel comfortabeler is. U kunt het hele jaar door uw ramen openen en genieten van de wind. U zult genieten van de ruimtelijkheid van het terrein van 1 hectare zonder buren in zicht en het 180 graden uitzicht op de oceaan zal adembenemend zijn.

 900 voet is de beste hoogte voor veel van de heerlijke, exotische vruchten die hier groeien en zorgt ook voor een geweldig uitzicht op de kustlijn en de oceaan.

Mijn man en ik wonen rustig boven en blijven onzichtbaar tenzij je ons wilt.

Kom, geniet van de Kona Heavens Hideaway als je thuis weg van huis. Het voelt alsof je in het land bent, maar alles wat je nodig hebt, is slechts een klein eindje rijden. Hier blijven is het beste van twee werelden!

This house is really a hidden gem, we loved our stay here. The fruit Sandra left for us are the sweetest I've ever had.The location is very convenient to downtown Kona.The layout of the rooms are a little funky to get used to, but totally functional, with 2 bathrooms and a lot of doors to go to the pool!Can't beat the private pool and hot tub! Watching sunset there, listening to the birds chirp and frogs sing, magical.Lastly, I will mention there is no dishwasher in the kitchen, or washer/dryer, not a big issue though.

If you're looking for an authentic island vibe, this is the perfect place to stay.Sandra was a fantastic host, and the property—nestled up in the mountains—offered stunning ocean views and lush, tropical surroundings. The outdoor kitchen gave us a true taste of island living, and the area was filled with beautiful wildlife. It was incredibly private and peaceful, a true escape.Our favorite part of the day was enjoying breakfast outside, taking in the breathtaking scenery and listening to the natural sounds around us.Highly recommend this magical getaway!

Paradise indeed

By far the best VRBO we have ever been to. Yes the kitchen is outside. Does it matter? No! It’s Hawaii! Delightful property, owner is very friendly and helpful. She was always prompt when answering any questions we had. Free tropical fruit and eggs. Pool is deep enough to practice your snorkeling or free diving techniques. Lovely neighborhood. Loved staying in the hills above Kona, it was always a little cooler up there. The standard by which we will judge all future VRBOs.

Amazing oasis!

My family and I stayed for a week at spring break and enjoyed our stay. This stay is the bottom floor of a large house and a giant back yard full of fruit trees. We enjoyed spending time outdoors, the ocean view and especially the fresh fruit and avocados. The hot tub was also very nice and we made use of the badmitton set and basketball hoop. Unfortunately the pool was broken during our stay, but we were given a partial refund for this and I'm sure it's fixed by now. After the crowded beaches, it was always nice to come back to this peaceful oasis. It felt very private even being in a neighborhood.

Memorable Kona Stay

Our family enjoyed our stay, with family members reporting that this was our best trip yet to Big Island. Sandra greeted us warmly upon arrival. She kindly left a few homegrown goodies for us in the fruit bowl, which was a big hit. The outdoor kitchen is very well appointed, and we did not eat out for any of our meals. Sharp knives, basic spices, proper cookware-we were not disappointed. The family grill master enjoyed having all the tools he needed to get the job done. Of course the backyard pool, toys, sunset added to the wonderful experience. The beds were a comfortable place to land at the end of the day. Plenty of linens, a spare toothbrush for the one who left his at home, toiletries-all much appreciated. The provided beach towels were thick and absorbent. The washer and dryer worked well, and it was so helpful to have cleans clothes when needed. And the location. Surprisingly convenient, to Costco, to the highway up the hill and down the hill, plus so many attractions with an easy drive's distance. Our family of 4 highly recommends a stay here while in Kona.

VRBO advertises that when you rent through vrbo you are renting the entire property & not sharing your vacation with owners. That is not the case with this property. You are renting 2 rooms in a basement of the house they live in. You see and hear them every day and are expected to adhere to quiet hours to not disturb them. We rent through vrbo vs. others so we can have a house to ourselves. In addition the room search parameters were 2 bedrooms, 2 FULL baths and a living room. There are only 2 rooms - a bedroom and a living room that has a bed in it & 1 full bath. If someone wakes up early & wants to use the living room you can’t because people are sleeping in it. When I asked the owner, who was at the “house” we rented, where the 2nd full bath was she told me there was an outside shower. That was a shower head with no privacy walls so you’d need to take a shower in your bathing suit or be ok showering nude in the open. When we got there we explained the property was not advertised accurately and we specifically searched for 2 bedroom/2 full bath house and got a 2 room basement and asked to be let out of the rental - even offered to pay a portion of the rental-so we could find something like what we searched for- she refused. Was not empathetic at all. We stayed away from the property as much as possible because it felt awkward sitting out by the pool when the owners could see/hear us from their deck. The property was beautiful and we would have loved enjoying it privately

Wonderful Stay

This property was the perfect home base for our family's first trip to Hawaii. We wanted a mix of relaxation and exploration, and Sandra's property made both of those fantastically easy. Our whole family enjoyed downtime in the pool, hot tub, and yard playing badminton while the location made it a good jump off point for trips north or south along the coast or to head towards Hilo. Also convenient for airport, groceries, and restaurants. The house was immaculately clean, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking, & the beach toys, chairs, and towels were much appreciated. The memories of the lovely ocean view looking over the gorgeous yard's diverse and beautiful foliage mixed with the bird sounds will always linger when thinking of our time there!!

Big Island Heaven

A perfect home base for a small family on the Big Island. Beautiful pool and hot tub, don’t even need to dry off to cook in the outdoor kitchen while still enjoying the incredible view. Owners are super nice and the property is absolutely impeccable.

Exceptional property and location

The pictures do not do the property justice. The yard is a Hawaii botanical garden. There’s fresh fruit (that you get to enjoy!) and flowers of every kind. The house is perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to town, restaurants and airport. The sunset views are so stunning, we made a point to try and be back on most nights for that. Further, the house was spotlessly clean and very well stocked in the kitchen, with towels and beach equipment. We were 2 couples concerned with privacy for each. However, we found that the house worked very well. Sandra and Ken were responsive and generous hosts. This is a place we want to go back to again.

A Piece of Paradise

We had an amazing stay! The space was perfect for us and the kitchen was very well stocked. We loved watching the sunset on the 180 degree ocean view from the hot tub. The landscaping is beautiful, and we enjoyed walking around the huge yard. We snapped a photo of a green lizard with blue feet resting on a bird of paradise flower...incredible! We would love to stay here again!

Recommend neoprene vests if planning to use pool in winter

We had a great time. We found the host’s description and prior comments to be true. It is that private. Since the pool is a major feature, here is some info for planning that might be useful. We stayed during the first half of November. We travel with a kitchen thermometer (not calibrated but reasonably accurate) which I used to measure the pool in early morning and late afternoon which is when we swam. The morning temperatures ranged between about 76F and 71F as the days progressed. The afternoon temperatures were 3 – 4F warmer depending on the weather. We travel with 3 mm neoprene vests. We used the pool every day. The pool might have been too cold for us (we're both retired) without those vests. If you’re coming in the winter and don’t already have vests or shorties to keep you warm in the water, amazon lists many at very reasonable prices.

A Dream Experience

I was excited prior to arrival due to the amazing photos online, however, the photos truly do not do justice to how spectacular this property is from beginning to end. When we arrived, we were greeted by Sandra and Ken, who were welcoming. The home had so many amenities, including coffee, fresh fruit, and hygiene items if you missed something. The view is simply beautiful. Overall all, this was truly an experience. We loved the hot tub, lounge areas, and the steam room! You don't want to pass n this property...you will certainly make wonderful memories!

A Quiet Peace in Paradise

Our nine nights in this peaceful place flew by too quickly. The property, room, kitchen, pool and hot tub were perfect. Birds greeting us in the morning and gorgeous sunsets from the lanai. Sandra is a delight and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you from The Oasis reunion for an awesome stay.
