Absolute oceaan. Gooi een kiezelsteen in de Stille Oceaan vanuit je Lanai. Hale Aloha is een vrijstaand, zeer privé pension aan de oceaan, gelegen in de magische wijk Puako, naast het Mauna Lani Resort op het grote eiland Hawaï. Zeebries en plafondventilatoren houden het huis het hele jaar door comfortabel.

Puako is een van de zonnigste bestemmingen in Hawaii met een unieke mix van oude Hawaii-charme en een van de meest ongerepte kustlijnen op de eilanden. Elke dag is gevuld met het geluid van de zee, kokospalmen die zwaaien in de tropische bries en de schoonheid van Hawaï. Je deelt de oceaan met zeeschildpadden en speelt op een oceaan rijk aan zeeleven. Uw dag eindigt met een van de mooiste zonsondergangen ter wereld

Typisch voor de huizen aan het strand die Puako zo geliefd hebben gemaakt, is Hale Aloha ideaal voor een stel dat een gevoel van plaats waardeert in een perfect onderhouden strandhuis in Hawaïaanse stijl. Deze woning is perfect om te loungen en te genieten van de zon en de zeelucht. Toegang tot de oceaan grenst aan de Hale Aloha, die een ideale locatie biedt om te gaan vissen, snorkelen, duiken, surfen, kajakken en staand peddelen.

Hale Aloha werd gebouwd in de jaren 1950, maar werd volledig gerenoveerd zonder zijn oude Hawaiiaanse charme te verliezen in 2014. Dit kleurrijke en uitzonderlijk schone huisje is vakkundig gerenoveerd en gerestaureerd met een leuke en speelse inrichting. Alles is nieuw, kasten, plantagedeuren, roestvrijstalen apparaten, houten lamellen, beddengoed, handdoeken, keukenaccessoires en keukengerei, sanitair, tegels in bad en keuken, tot nieuwe verf binnen en buiten.

De warme oceaan is je zwembad. Beschermd en slechts 2-5 voet diep met een grotendeels zanderige bodem, is het de thuisbasis van groene zeeschildpadden en kleurrijke vissen. Net voorbij de door rif beschermde lagune is het beste snorkelen, duiken en kajakken in Hawaï. Bij eb zullen de getijdenpoelen inspireren en in januari tot en met mei kunt u de 45 voet bultruggen zien spelen en breken. In de ochtendwandelingen langs de Puako Beach Drive met twee rijstroken vindt u de beroemde oude Hawaiiaanse rotstekeningen van Puako, het grootste voorbeeld van rotstekeningen ter wereld. Er is ook een supermarkt op loopafstand

We felt like we were in the Swiss Family Robinson tree house . Great views! Lots of turtles. We even saw angel fish and a reef shark when we explored during low tide. Sunsets were unbelievable!We had everything we needed to make food. The place does get toasty.

Being an older home in my opinion could use some updates/upgrades but the location was obviously the draw to the property. Definitely appreciated response when we had some questions and check in and out very simple. Maybe local food recommendations/options would be helpful for us "old folks" that don't always trust the internet reviews.

If you're looking for a classic Hawaiian experience, this is it. Amazing cottage - we loved just about everything about it. So incredible to wake up in the morning to the cool breeze, sounds of the ocean at your door, and a turtle or two lounging on the lava rocks. What we really enjoyed was the location and Puako - awesome for morning and evening walks, friendly people, amazing sunsets, exploring tidepools, and central location to access Big Island activities. Stunning sandy beaches and great snorkeling close by. If you're looking for a low key, non-resort place to put your feet up, this is it. We loved this place and will be back.

I would give this 12 out of 10 if that was possible. So unique. Rustic but in terrific way as all appliances updated, very clean but also you feel like you are living outdoors if you want to and then can close off completely when you don't. Location ideal, close to amazing beach and accessible to entire island on day trips. Stars at night are indescribable. Stay here, stop looking.

Perfect location with stunning views. Bathroom is nice, kitchen well appointed and there are at least 4 places to sit in the studio itself, not simply the comfy bed. We are in our 70s so we had some difficulties getting luggage up and down the 15 entry stairs. We also fought with the sliding doors leading to the lanai. All in all, we had a lovely stay. There's a channel in the water within walking distance that will take you beyond the lava rocks to the reef. Very nice!

Another amazing stay

We’ve stayed at this property multiple times & will continue to because of the location & unique style of the property. This studio unit is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood near the larger resorts. It’s oceanfront which allows for great viewing of turtles, dolphins, whales & those amazing Hawaiian sunsets. The property owners are quick to reply if needed & check-in is easy. If you want to stay in a place where you feel that old time aloha spirit then Hale Aloha is the perfect place. We can’t wait to return … A Hui Huo (until next time)!Mahalo

Peaceful, Beautiful Location and Charming Cottage

Communication with Pam, Frank, Kathy and Jay was prompt and simple. Photos and description of the house we accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of peace and quiet after spending a week in Honolulu working. It was easy to relax and enjoy. Short drive to Kamuela, Waikoloa Village and Kona Airport. We had everything we needed here and the house was very comfortable and we look forward to visiting again!

Hale Aloha is AWESOME

This is our third year in a row that we have stayed at Hale Aloha and it is amazing every time. There is nothing fancy about his place but the purity of the experience is so great that we couldn't be happier having been there for another week. Private Paradise in Puako !!

We stayed at the Hale Aloha in late September and had the most magical experience. The beach home was perfect for my son and I, it came stocked with everything we could need and the night breeze was just perfect. My absolute favorite part about our time on the Big Island was the snorkeling literally in the back yard!! The Mauna Kea and Hapuna resort were close for some fancy eats and the grocery store was a short drive and carried whatever we needed for the cabin. It was so hard to leave and I hope we are able to stay there again soon! Thank you for sharing your peice of paradise with us!!

Honeymoon in paradise

When I say this place has a magical charm and is absolute paradise, it doesn’t come close to giving it justice. If you like a lot of amenities, or room service, or maid service… This isn’t for you. But if you love the old school Hawaiian vibe, are looking for a place to immerse yourself in the person you are with, this is the perfect place to get lost in that love. We will be back! Pure magic!

Paradise found.

This is one of those places that selfishly I do not want to review for fear that it will become too popular, and I’ll never be able to visit it again. Where to begin? The Hale is just perfect Hawaii. First, location: Puako. It is an amazing, quiet spot that I thought didn’t exist anymore! There are numerous public shoreline access areas along the road - you should explore them all! There is access to the ocean less than a minute walk from the Hale. At low tide you can explore the tide pools, at high tide you can swim. If you like beautiful sand and shade, Beach 69 is about a 3 minute drive. Finally, for the nights you want “fancy” dinner, the Mauna Lani resort area is a short drive away. Ok, now let’s talk about the Hale itself. It is an amazing structure that was just perfect for two. The place was so incredibly clean when we arrived. It could be the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in. The view is spectacular, and we spent significant time just relaxing on the ocean front deck both during the day and night (we were lucky to see a shooting star!) The efficiency kitchen had everything we needed for our trip and more. Essential beach gear was also provided (chairs, umbrellas, towels). Slatted screened windows, kept the Hale completely comfortable no matter the time of day which encouraged much lounging in the perfectly positioned bed with a palm tree framed view of the pacific. The hosts were just as incredible as the home. Mahalo for your hospitality!

Can’t beat the view!

The driving directions were flawless. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The first three days the amount of mosquitoes in the bathroom and studio put a damper on our visit. Once we had those under control and always closing the screen doors behind us going to and from the deck it was great. Between the breeze from the ocean and the ceiling fan the house was always comfortable. If the humidity rose we would take a short walk to the ocean and sit in the shallow water of the bay. Puako General Store is 5 minutes away for beer, chip's and homemade chocolate chip cookies. But the best thing about this cottage is the deck over looking the ocean, almost below your feet. First thing in the morning sitting there with a cup of coffee and watching the tide change; it’s the best.

Great getaway

The location is just as described…right on the water. It’s in a quiet area. Perfect if you want to relax and enjoy nature. Like others we grilled often. Water in front of the property is beautiful but very rocky so not swimmable but great beaches are easy drives. Very responsive to our needs and questions. Absolutely loved it!

All you need

This place has all you need for a great Hawaiian vacation - most importantly it is right on the water. The kitchen is efficient, the bathroom good, the California king bed is awesome - especially for someone 6’5”. But to wake up every morning to the sound of the sea and have the ocean view all day is hard to beat. The best is the sunset with a margarita. Aloha!!
