"The Barcelo Istanbul hotel applies to all the standards and regulations that belong to a 5* hotel.. The hotel is located north-west of Taksim Square (450 meter) and within walking distance of e.g. Istiklal street and to the north you will find the Dolmabahçe Palace. Check-in was quick. The hotel reception staff is friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious with elegant decor and furniture. It features a king-size bed, space for clothing, shoes and dresses. Blackout curtains, and all the amenities you would expect. Downside was the noise from our neighbors. A minibar with sodas and beer. Prices rather high. Some doubts about the functioning of the air conditioning. The bathroom is equipped with all the amenities as you would expect from a 5*-star hotel. The rain shower has a very powerful jet. You'll find soaps, shampoos, and care products readily available. The rooftop shows an overview of the city on 2 sides and there are also 2 jacuzzis available. The breakfast restaurant offers a spacious and decorated environment. Enough choices. An egg station is available. The tables are cleared quickly, and everything is replenished on time. The hotel bar offers a selection of drinks and food. I ordered a small bottle of beer, which cost me 475 TL (about 10 euros). Are there better hotels in Istanbul? Absolutely. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes! The price-to-quality ratio is very good. The location is convenient, the staff is welcoming.This hotel is definitely worth it."
