Second bedroom not as advertised
This property advertises a Queen bed in the second bedroom, but it is only a Full size and it is in poor condition. We would not have booked this property had we known the true make-up of the beds. The rest of the house is very nice.

Super cute, very comfortable
We had a great time in Kennebunk. The home was immaculate, super cute, and very roomy and comfortable. This spot was very conveniently located near great dining and shopping, but was also central enough to see many of the local towns on the coast with just a short drive.

Stench, bugs and oppressive heat and ignored service from the Property managers after emails
We arrived it was oppressive heat with all windows shut. The stench from the swamp the property is on was overwhelming. To open the windows you could taste it, running fans did not offer relief. We went out and purchased 4 additional fans. I contact Vacasa the first time at 1:30am when we could not get relief from the smell or the heat. We were told there would be a service tech arriving Monday. I contacted them by phone and e-mail over the next three days and each day I was assured someone would come and check on the property. No one came. The surround property neighbors (I can provide their names and contact info) claim the stench is prevelant everyday throughout the summer months and more so in the heat. We had accommodations with bugs running around on the sinks and there is not sleeping for 6. I have photos of that 3rd bed which was not a bed it was a PAD not a mattress, and it sat in the swamp the window was directly on the first floor over the smelliest part of the property. The property is a health hazard and the management company did not honor the service agreement. We request the refund we deserve and will proceed with legal steps if necessary. Outrageous as it is all documented in the messages as well as the 4 calls that I spent a minimum of 30-50 minutes a day.

Thank you for your review, Shiobbean. We sincerely apologize for the issues that you encountered that prevented this from being a perfect stay. We are so sorry for any odor detected. The home is located adjacent to a tidal creek and protected grasslands that afford visitors picturesque views of natural wildlife habitats. Because of the proximity to the coast, the tributary that connects to the Kennebunk River does have a high and low tide espousing the natural features of the tidal creek. Rest assured that this poses no health hazards for our guests. The windows and doors are locked between guests for safety purposes and while this home does not offer AC as an amenity, multiple fans are located throughout the home for guests comfort. We also apologize that the sofa bed was not suitable for your party. A new mattress has been purchased. Thank you again for this valuable information as we always welcome the opportunity to improve. We hope to have another chance to impress you on a future stay!

Lovely home but..
Lovely well equipped home walking distance from restaurants, shopping, docks, etc. The cottage is updated with large bedrooms and beautiful bathrooms. We picked a bad week to be there and did not realize there's no A/C. The exterior lock is a real challenge and super frustrating (it consistently times out before the 10 digit code can be entered). The cottage sits on a busy road with a narrow drive and no place to turn around. I'm sure it's not an issue in the off season. Overall, we appreciated the cottages but will likely not book again for the reasons noted.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was clean, equipped with everything you might need and close proximity to Dock Square which is a huge plus. If you wanted to, you could walk to Dock Square which is great because parking can be limited, especially during the peak months of summer. We would definitely stay at this property again!

Perfect location for a Kennebunk weekend
Great house for 4-6 adults planning to enjoy downtown Kennebunk and surrounding areas. Comfortable walking distance to downtown and basically across the street from a hidden gem, Wandby Landing. The food, ambiance, drinks, and service were shockingly good and somewhat upscale. We loved it so much for apps and drinks on our first night that we went back for full dinner the next. Friendly staff and a welcoming environment. At the house, the fire pit was a nice amenity and there were ample towels, sheets, pillow, TP & paper towel. Everything you need for a great weekend away!

Great Place; Poor Check-In Process
Excellent home and location. Super clean. But the check-in process was not ideal. There is a lockbox to open the first door and an electronic keypad to open the second door. We were never given the first code to open the lockbox. After I had to call and get the code for the lockbox, the code for the second door was wrong and did not work. We had to call back and they couldn't fix it. We ended up using the key to enter a different door. But once inside, the house was great.

My friend and I were looking to get away for a few days and were lucky enough to stumble upon this VRBO just a few months before visiting. The location is solid! The interior is exactly as the pictures display. My cousins came down the first night and enjoyed themselves....I'd love to go back again!

Great stay at the Quaint Bungalow
We really enjoyed our stay at the quaint bungalow! The house was super clean upon arrival and super cozy for a fall weekend in Maine. It was located in a great area of town, a beautiful and easy walk to both the beach and the town. The listing does mention that it’s on a marsh, which is one of the reasons why we booked this place thinking it would be fun to go to with our little one. Unfortunately you have to cross their neighbors property to get there so you can only see it slightly from the bedroom window which we were bummed about. Also, the kitchen is not super well equipped for cooking or cleaning. They left one countertop wipe and one small garbage bag per day and the knives are very dull if you want to cook a meal. These are just a few minor things, but worth mentioning. We would definitely rent again, but just come a little more prepared :)

RELAXING GETAWAY
The house was even better than we expected. It was so incredibly well stocked. I brought many things that were not necessary. A very pleasant surprise. Second bedroom has a double, not a queen bed as listed. We are used to a queen, so it was a little uncomfortable. All in all a wonderful getaway for our 39th anniversary. We will be back.

Charming home away from home
This property is beautiful! Well maintained and clean. We loved having the stocked kitchen for dinners by the fireplace. We sat on the front porch and watched wild turkeys stroll by. The bed was comfortable and we had a quiet nights sleep. The town was hustling and bustling with people from all over the world. Don’t forget to get a lobster roll (or two) while you are visiting. 5 star rating!

Pros: 3-5 minute walk to downtown and a 5 minute drive to the beach. This was a perfect location. The house was perfect. Very clean. It had a great front porch. There was a functional gas fireplace and the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless and all amenities were there along with toiletries. There was enough paper products to last 3-4 days. Great wifi and smart TV. Cons: not many. Maybe a lock on the bathroom door upstairs, a noisy fridge and I would recommend backing in to the driveway in the evening because backing out on a major roadway could certainly be challenging during the busy season of busier times of the day. We didn’t use the outdoor grill or fire pit but that was a nice added touch. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we would certainly return.

Fine for a couple plus one
This property was mostly as described, with one significant exception: the second bed was a full, not a queen. Unfortunately we were two couples, getting away for the first time since the start of the pandemic, as all of us are fully vaccinated. That meant that one couple had to squeeze into a full sized bed and as a result did not sleep well for the three nights we were there. There were indeed two full bathrooms (or perhaps two 3/4 baths — both had showers and not bathtubs, fine for us, but worth knowing), but one was on the first floor, with both bedrooms on the second - not a serious issue, but not ideal for two couples. The place was spotless, a big plus, and the kitchen fairly well stocked, Location is very good, walking distance to center of Kennebunkport, but situated on the main through road. No noise issues inside the house, but sitting on the enclosed front porch was pretty noisy. All in all, just fine for a couple and one other, but not for two couples unless one couple is comfortable in a full sized bed.
