Amazing House!
This rental was absolutely gorgeous. The outdoor area is where we spent most of our time the pictures of the pool and cabana area don't do it justice its so well landscaped. You truly feel like you are in your own private tropical paradise. The screened in porch area is large and the kitchen had everything we needed. Plan on staying again, hands down the best house we have rented in the keys!

Gorgeous property/location - with some issues
We have been renting in Marathon and Key Colony for many years. The property and location was nice and we enjoyed our stay overall, but we did encounter a few issues. The all in one washer/dryer unit left our clothes with a funky smell. The patio/pool area was beautiful but there were several trip hazards from the uneven pavers. My husband and myself both tripped several times during our stay. There also weren’t enough towels provided so we ended up having to re-use towels for our daily boat trips in order to avoid getting charged for “excessive laundry”. The house was decorated well and had a comfortable layout for the 4 of us. The location on 11th street was convenient and we were able to fit our boat on the dock with no issues. Trash pick is on Tuesdays and Saturday’s and we took our trash down the night before like we always do when we stay in Key Colony. Upon check-out at 10am, we put our trash from that morning in the garbage can outside, like we always do when checking out of a rental. Unfortunately we were informed by the host that we were being charged an extra $50 for having trash in the outside trash can. We have never had this issue before with any other rental and it is commonly known that people will have some trash upon checking out. The host refused to listen and accused us of not bringing our trash down to the curb on trash pick up day which is absolutely not true. This has left a sour taste in our mouths unfortunately, so we will not be renting here again.

We are sorry you did not have a good experience at SC2 as we always try to make our guest experience the best ever. We’re sorry that the 10 guest towels were not sufficient for your boating activities . Additionally while yes the trash was taken to the outdoor trash cans, the trash cans were not taken to the curb thus we had to pay for the trash removal to allow space for the next guest. Also, as we are pet friendly home, our cleaning crews did not appreciate your pet urinating in the house. Because of this we had to bring in an additional cleaning staff at our expense to fully ensure the home was cleaned and ready for our next guest.

Key Colony Take Me Away
We had an amazing stay in Key Colony. The property exceeded our expectations. Patti was excellent with communication. The property was thoroughly cleaned and smelled so fresh when we arrived. A relaxing getaway
The house and property were stunning. Everything was clean and fresh...everything worked...and it was a joy overall. We have stayed at other properties and there always was little problems but this time there were none. I would have liked to have the pool heated as it was quite chilly even though the outside temperatures were a glorious high of 78 and low of 75! But we took lots of walks and loved sitting under the hut watching the boats and the pelicans go by! Highly recommend this place in the Keys!

Beautiful home both inside and out!
Such a beautiful home! Loved the interior design and all the little extra touches throughout. The kitchen was well appointed with everything one could need. The linens and thick plush towels were very nice. Even had plenty of pool/beach towels, which we weren’t expecting. The outdoor area was where we spent much of our time. Gorgeous landscaping, the tiki was so relaxing, and of course the pool was fantastic! We’ve traveled quite a bit and this was one of the best trips we’ve taken. In fact, we already booked again for next year!

Awesome week in key colony
This property was just as shown on the listing and we really enjoyed our time here. The pool and tiki hut were amazing. The inside of the house was beautiful. Key colony/ marathon was a great vacation spot for a family. There’s a aquarium, turtle rescue, and dolphin center all within 10 minutes. Key colony is also nice because its off the main highway. We even used the community beach club a couple days which was also great. And sunset beach in key colony was only a 2 min walk for sunsets.

Wonderful place. Perfect for 2 couples or a small family. Exactly as listed, no surprises. Communication with owner was great. Lots of little perks (boat dock, fish cleaning station, bait freezer, washer/dryer combo). Backyard landscape is beautifully done. Pool with a waterfall and a really nice tiki hut with chairs and a fan for morning coffee and evening drinks. Got to see manatees, nurse sharks, and a spotted eagle ray in the canal. Great location at the keys. Walk to sunset Beach. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Perfect place to dock a boat and a few miles from some good fishing, sunset cruises, and sand bars. Many places to take your boat for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend.

Good Property with some imperfections
Property was very clean upon arrival which is a great sign and owner was very responsive. Outside area was very nice and great to hang out in the evening. That being said the following issues could be easily addressed. 1. Fridge is not up to standards with previous vacation rentals in Key Colony. No ice maker and bottom freezer draw was not closing smoothly. Water leaked from the fridge as it appear the freezer has a bad seal and would defrost on the floor. 2. Back slider would not close unless locked so if outside it would have a gap of 2 to 3 inches allowing AC to escape. Owner did state that she is addressing this issue with a new door. 3. My biggest concern with the property is that the dryer is wedged in sideways in the outdoor washroom closet. You can't really load or unload easily as door opens 6 inches before it hits the washer. You had to contort yourself to pull clothes out and use a clothes hanger to reach items in the back. Pain in the rear. Easy solution, replace with stackable washer and dryer. 4. One AC vent covered the entire living space outside of the bedrooms. The temperature differential from living area/kitchen and bedrooms had to be 10 degrees. It appears the previous owner had a large ductless AC unit as well to cover the living area for this issue, but is no longer operational. 5. Weber grill has paint chipping off the top of lid, so it will fall on you food while your cooking. You need to cook with lid up to ensure you are not eating paint chips.

Slice of paradise
This was our family’s first time in Key Colony Beach although we’ve been vacationing in the Keys for 20+ years. We cannot wait to return to KCB and specifically to Southern Comfort 2. The house was very clean and exactly as pictured. The kitchen is fully stocked and all the cookware is in excellent shape. Our family of 5 were very comfortable in the space and thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay. The property owners are extremely responsive and address any issues quickly and effectively. We loved the outdoor space, the kayaks and the boat dock. Amenities were great and even some bonus ones we haven’t always found in a rental such as a bait freezer, fishing poles, dog bowls, screened in porch with dining, fan under the cabana and more. Highly recommend!

Amazing home and location
Patti’s home is beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable. We went out fishing almost every day and enjoyed the catch of the day by the pool. Every evening we walked our dog to sunset park and watched the spectacular sunset. The last day we enjoyed the pool club. It was a perfect week in paradise!!! We will definitely be back.
