4/10 – Matig

I checked in for a week and had to unload luggage in a paid parking lane; the hotel’s parking is a block away. Our first room was unbearably loud at night—bar noise from Southard (drunken singing and screaming) sounded like it was inside the room. I asked to move and was told nothing was available, so I spent several nights with little sleep and constant headaches.
We were finally moved on Thursday, but downgraded from an executive king to a double. The new room was quieter, but the curtains didn’t fully close and bright pool lights flooded the room. I had to use a towel just to block the light.
The next morning, I found a dead German cockroach nymph in the bathroom. I requested a proper curtain panel around 8am and was told they’d “look into it.” By 2pm, they said none were available. I then asked for an extra towel and was told housekeeping had already locked up.
Front desk staff (with one exception) were dismissive and passive-aggressive, often seeming annoyed by basic requests. Housekeeping was inconsistent—one day only one of two beds was made.
There’s also no front desk staff after 6pm.
For the price, this level of service and condition is unacceptable. Stay elsewhere.
