Hotel ligt op 10 minuten lopen van het centrum.
Het hotel staat geboekt als zijn de vier sterren. Echter in Nederland zou het niet meer dan drie sterren krijgen. De kamer had een niet nader te bepalen geur. Er was geen airconditioning en geen koelkast op de kamer. De hal , waar de kamer deuren zich bevonden, had hoog nodig een opknapbeurt nodig. Hij was het geld dat we ervoor moesten betalen echt niet waard.

Good & pleasant stay for good price.
Had a very good and pleasant stay on the outskirts of Kilkenny. Room, service and breakfast were all good. The only downside was the 15 minute walk from the center to get there, but to be honest when the weather is not to bad this is also refreshing. Managed to get a good price via hotels.com so also from price/quality perspective I can recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the first 2 nights of our 7 day journey in Ireland. The location was perfect! Walking distance of about 15 mins. to town and lots of sites. The Roswell Bar at the hotel had great food choices. The breakfast each morning was sufficient and it was nice to have a hot meal first thing in the morning. The rooms need an upgrade but overall we had a nice stay.

The hotel was fine, but it is not central…, it’s a good 15/20 mins walk from the town centre. It’s clean and comfortable and the pool and gym are a bonus. Only the pub area was open for dining and the food was reasonable but the breakfast was not quite so good.

Disappointment in Kilkenny
We arrived on a Friday night in September for a 1 night stay. We should have known it was was going to be a bad night when they they never texted us to tell us our room was ready. There happened to be a wedding reception (more than one) in progress when we arrived. We were tired so we ate at the hotel. Big mistake. The worst food we had in Ireland, hands down. Regardless, we just wanted a good night sleep and continue our vacation to our next destination. Just as we were going to sleep, at 11pm we could hear from our room loud music, literally pounding in our room. I called the desk and they told me that the music would end at 12:00. When 12:39 came and the loud music continued, my wife went to the desk to complain. She requested that we get moved to another room in another part of the hotel. We ended up moving to a room at 12:30pm where the noise was inaudible. We finally managed to get some sleep. In general, the rooms are outdated, the food was awful and the service was horrible. The toilets in both rooms continue to run water after flushing. It clearly is waste of water. The rooms are outdated, bathrooms, electrical outlets, etc.

The location of the propriety is a mile within walking distance of pubs and attractions. Check in was later in afternoon and was told we would receive upgrades, only to discover the spacious rooms were on ground floor.

Die Zimmer sind abgewohnt und zweckmäßig eingerichtet - die einzige Steckdose zum Aufladen der Geräte war mitten im Raum, Smartphone musste zum Aufladen auf den Boden gelegt werden. Im Zimmer kein Kleiderschrank und wenige Ablagemöglichkeiten für Koffer, sodass wir das dritte Bett, welches fix fertig bezogen ohne Tagesdecke im Zimmer ist, als Ablage verwendet haben. In der Badewanne Duschvorhang - igitt, mag ich persönlich überhaupt nicht! Sauberkeit der gesamten Anlage, auch der Zimmer, ist sehr gut. Schwimmbad ist eine Sporteinrichtung, nicht zum entspannen geeignet da keine Liegen vorhanden sind, aber sehr gut um schnell ein paar Bahnen zu schwimmen - Badehauben sind Pflicht, aber vor Ort erhältlich. Essen in der Bar und Frühstück sehr gut, die Mitarbeit waren sehr freundlich. Wir hatten bei der Buchung ein Problem - zuerst wurde uns erklärt, dass eine Buchung über Expedia nicht geändert werden kann, als wir dann den Manager gesprochen hatten und die Situation erklärt haben, wurde uns aber bereitwillig geholfen. Das finden wir super! Alles in allem für einen kurzen Aufenthalt sehr gut geeignetes Hotel mit guter Lage zum Stadtzentrum.

Amazing hotel.
Hotel was fabulous. Couldnt fault it. Spotless clean. Friendly staff. Pool was great with a smaller section for kids. Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful midweek break
I could not fault this lovely hotel. Staff at reception were lovely, as were staff at restaurant, gym and bar. Our room was lovely, comfortable and clean. Our only disappointment was that we were unable to use the gardens. They are closed to guests and only used for private functions. This meant that the only outdoor space was the bar / patio area which was used by smokers. As non smokers, with an asthmatic child, this was a no go for us. Ultimately though, our overall experience was wonderful and i would definitely recommend the Hotel Kilkenny to family and friends. A return visit is definitely on the cards.

We were looking forward to a hotel w/full service and a more elevated experience than the boutique hotels we previously stayed at. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the appearance of the actual room. The outside of the building gives a beautiful impression. The inside needs serious updating as it looks like 1980 something. Our bed was comfortable but it he bathroom needed attention. The sink was slow draining and one of the lightbulbs above the sink flickered on snd off. We addressed this with the desk and they told us it would be fixed while we were out. It was not. If the price point wasn’t as high I would not expect as much. Not impressed

Good but not great.
The room was very nice and clean. Some of the common areas were overlooked when cleaning was taken place. We were there 3 days and crisps were on the floor outside the lifts all three days. The breakfast was not that impressive. We had better in other hotels that same week. The room was nice the bar food was good to. I'd give it a 7/10

Easy parking and within easy reach of Kilkenny centre. Dining room good. Our major problem was banging at night which I suspect originates from slammed doors. It seens to me that there is a design fault with the closing of doors which are pulled shut but with no dampening of sound and sounds reverberate through the building.
