Vergane glorie, ook na renovatie
Het hotel heeft enorme historie wat nu wel voorbij is. Van de sfeer van het Britse rijk is niets meer over. Het hotel is te ver gerenoveerd om nog iets te proeven van die tijd van de Britse gouverneur. De kamers (21 en 23) zijn enigszins aangepast aan de huidige tijd; groot lcd-scherm, nieuwe badkamers e.d. Ze zijn alleen niet groot (foto op site zijn genomen met een heel goede lens/camera), hebben geen geluidsisolatie (er wordt zelfs verzocht om de tv niet hard te zetten want de muren hebben oren), de badkamer betreft alleen een douche bij de kamers met balkon aan de stadskant (wel heel mooi) en jammer genoeg zijn alle tweepersoons bedden alleen gekoppelde eenpersoonsbedden in de luxe kamers. Uitzicht op de stad is snel aan het verdwijnen door gebouwen vlak bij. Het huis van de gouverneur zal ooit een riante tuin hebben gehad die inmiddels is verdwenen. Het zwembad is mooi, wordt alleen niet goed genoeg onderhouden om zonder bladeren in te zwemmen. Het continentale ontbijt, inclusief in de kamerprijs, is ronduit teleurstellend; kop thee of koffie, vruchtensap uit een pak, 4 sneetjes toast, boter en 1 soort jam. Het zoete brood bestond uit een minimuffinkoekje. Dat is het. Al het andere kost gelijk ettelijke Amerikaanse dollars extra. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en service gericht en kan aan het bovenstaande niet veel veranderen. Gastvrij zeer zeker, maar niet het ultieme genot op het gebied van hotels. Geboekt op basis van de iets te wervende eigen hoteltekst.

the property is well maintained and staff are friendly and welcoming. I like that everything was provided, meals, gym, spa options and information about different places to visit. the only thing I did not like was the free breakfast was sparing but you have the option to purchase if you want something different

Becoming a regular here. They treat me well. Super Convenient-little worn-but balanced out by the above level service. The Manager, and also Bartender/supervising waiter Keisha who does an awesome job at Breakfast are just solid people. Very warm and inviting staff. Caribbean customer service at its best.

This hotel is extraordinary in appearance and staff friendliness! Those who were exceptionally friends and helpful were Keisha, Ashante (an intern), and L'Audra (please pardon me if I misspelled your name). The decor and furnishings were classical yet comfortable and in wonderful shape. I would not hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay while in St. Vincent!

This unique property is lovely to stay in; beautifully modernized without losing its character. The only comment I would like to make regarding improvement is that, as there is no elevator, it would be most helpful to have staff assistance with luggage, when checking in and out.

Room was ok for a business trip of one night. Staff was attentive and friendly. The hotel is located atop a hill which is a bit of a walk from downtown but nothing too taxing. Views are stunning. Beware of the mosquitoes, tropical country and lush greenery so you can't help it much.

Lovely hotel in all respects
We only stayed one night on pur way to Bequia, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel arranged a taxi pick-up from the airport, and then to the ferry port the next day. Dinner and breakfast were both very good, and the room and bed were very comfortable.

Grenadine House is a lovely characterful property in a wonderful position overlooking bustling Kingstown. We stayed for seven nights and used it as a base to see the island, with transportation and guides easy to arrange via the hotel. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and helpful, and the hotel is both a great place to relax in as well as it doing good food, plus it’s just a walk to the botanical gardens or into the bustling town.

Booked a 2 night stay here on our way to Bequia Beach Hotel (partner hotel). We had a lovely stay in this hotel with lots of charm - rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. West Indies Bar was a pleasant hangout for a drink. Breakfast was good and filling. We also ate lunch and dinner in the hotel. The meal we had in the restaurant was excellent - good choices and very tasty. Only downside was the mosquitoes but each room had room spray and body protection. Would not hesitate to stay here agai.

Lovely old house and nicely equipped room. Right in the middle of city streets, but the property itself was quite nice. I had booked a massage for the evening I got in, around 6.30, but the spa staff decided to leave earlier so no luck. Food was good. De'andra at the front desk was fantastic and took all sorts of initiatives to keep me on track.

When we are in St. Vincent Grenadine House is our choice of a hotel to stay at. It is very clean and the staff is always very friendly. The meals are always good as well.
