The staff at the reception desk upon arrival was very offhand. We had driven up from Southampton and arrived 10 minutes early.We were told to take a seat at the bar if we wanted until our room was ready. Not the best start.

I love staying at the Cottons. The staff treats you like family. Everyone aims to please. I will continue to stay each Time Im in Knutsford and highly recommend this warm and friendly, caring staff.. Maid service is very nice.. with a special touch.. thank you, Cottons!! Front desk always on the spot helpful .> The Bar staff and Wait staff are friendly and up beat!!

Rooms need upgraded. I paid extra for a Jnr Suite and I have stayed in bigger hotel rooms! It was basically just a slightly larger version of the normal room with an extra sofa at the foot of the bed, and a TV in the bathroom! Food was nice, service was good but disappointing overall. Worst pillows ever

When I arrived at 6.30pm on a Wednesday I discovered I was 13th in the queue to check in, this took 35mins. The poor receptionist was on her own and doing her very best but clearly they need more staff. We were offered a free drink while we queued. My room was ok, I think I was in the dated part of the hotel, my bathroom was definitely ready for a refurb. Bed was comfortable and the shower warm. I wanted to use the gym and was told it was a £10 charge to use the spa facilities and pool, I explained I only wanted to use the gym but unfortunately it’s still a £10 charge. I travel a lot with work and have never been charged to use a gym. Won’t be returning.

Lovely hotel, excellent staff, nice breakfast. Only downside Hotel bar was closed before 11pm so my wife and I were unable to get a nightcap drink when we returned from a meal in nearby Knutsford.

Would definitely go back
Clean, well appointed room with extremely comfortable bed and very strong shower which I loved. Parking was plentiful although it was very busy with a number of functions on at the hotel in the evening. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Good choice, table service, freshly cooked and delicious. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

Lovely spa getaway
Staff were very helpful, loved the free cold water and milk machines in the corridors and the spa was lovely to go in for £10 on top of the stay. We are in the bar where the food was lovely and had a very comfortable stay.

Disappointed - wouldn’t stay again
There was an alarm going off all night in the hallway on the third floor which stopped us from sleeping. We went to have a coffee in the morning but the plastic water dispenser for the coffee machine had black mould in the base and also on the lid. Other than that it was pretty clean and tidy but really disappointed with the noise as it sounded like another guest was also trying to reach someone about the beeping but no one resolved this until the very early hours. Some of the staff seemed overworked and therefore seemed annoyed for guest presence. Manager refusing to serve guests whilst another member was running around getting other orders sorted. She instead went looking for the server instead of just serving the people that had been left waiting

The Signature room was spacious with a lovely sitting area. There were recycling options. Milk and water were provided from a central location into glass containers to reduce single use of plastics. There was a Lavazza pod coffee maker. Comfortable and clean space with great proximity to Manchester Airport. Will definitely stay here again.

Accommodation is good, although the wait of over an hour for breakfast is excessive especially for the venue. Trying to be constructive and not criticise: The staff try their hardest and spear tired. I feel this place like other businesses is suffering from a lack of staff resource.

Nice hotel - poor nights sleep.
Pros - nice room, comfy bed. Ate in the retaurant which was quite pricey but good food and service. Cons - we were put in an ajoining room meaning we could hear every word being said by our neighbours through the door. On one night they returned at 1:30am and were chatting and playing videos on their phone until gone 3am, meaning i got a very bad nights sleep. When I raised this with reception I was only offered a verbal apology. I'm not one to complain, and perhaps if I'd been more forceful we might have received some compensation. I felt this was quite poorly dealt with. Also felt a bit conned that the pool is an extra £10pp per day to use. I've never stayed in a hotel that charged so much extra for this.
