Slecht hotel vlakbij het centrum
Als toerist verblijf je in een hotel, dichtbij het centrum, waarbij je direct het dagelijkse ritueel meemaakt: Ontzettend veel lawaai/herry van het drukke verkeer Daarnaast zijn er heel veel kleine ondernemers die zich proberen te redden met het verkopen van allerlei spullen langs de straat, het is een beleving tussen al die duizenden lokale bevolking. De airco werkte niet goed De koelkast was leeg maar koelde niet De bedden zijn smal De kamers ruiken muf De kamers worden niet goed schoon gemaakt Wij hadden voor een duurdere kamer betaald en kregen eerst een goedkopere, vieze, klein kamer waar de airco jaren niet was schoongemaakt, zo zwart zag het er uit. Wij hebben geweigerd en kregen een ander kamer in het nieuwe gedeelte en de klachten: lees bovenstaand!!!

Hotel up to western standards
This hotel is quite nice and is located near shopping streets. You are able to go out to the Tantra nightclub if you're into clubbing in the nearby Plaza hotel. You can walk there in about 15 - 20 minutes. It has a nice view if you're on the 8th floor facing the victoria palace. You are able to see the park and the palace itself. The 2 restaurants in the hotel are good as well and the Aaheli is recommended if you want to try Bengali food. According to an Indian and Bengali friend of mine this is the best Bengali restaurant. Only remark, but that accounts for all the high class hotels, is that you need to be scanned by security each time you enter the hotel. This has started after the Mumbai bombing.

Cleanliness is terrible. Damp and peeling walls, carpets have not been cleaned since decades., no ventilation system in bathroom , very stuffy But staff are very polite and helpful.

One of the worst hotel ever for the price
This was one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever been to. The carpets both inside and outside the rooms weee really dirty. Bathroom were in a really shabby condition and in fact I am pretty sure it even had mold in it. For the money they charge it was at best a one star hotel experience. I would never stay here again.

A great hotel in the heart of Kolkata Clean, close to shopping and a friendly staff. I always stay at the Peerless Inn when in Kolkata.

There is an UNMARKED switch outside the bathroom which controls the water heater. It is easy to turn off with light switches. and I believe when the room key is removed.

Excellent location in the middle of the city. Very close to the metro and the bus station. I was housed in the new building and that was very nice. Previously, I had stayed in the old building and the bathroom was not clean. I was told that those rooms are being renovated. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Parking may become an issue if there are other events going on, though the staff tries to help out. On site restaurants have excellent food. Overall had an excellent stay.

Sehr gut geführtes, teilweise renoviertes Hotel
Es gibt bereits renovierte Zimmer in den beiden oberen Etagen im 7. und 8. (und 9.?) Stockwerk. Diese Zimmer sind gut. Noch nicht renovierte Zimmer in den anderen Etagen sind eine Zumutung - wir haben dringlich auf einem Zimmerwechsel bestanden. In den „alten Zimmern“ liegt ein fleckiger, feuchter Teppich, der sehr unangenehm riecht. Das Bad ist in einem schlechten Zustand und riecht nach Kanal. Die Klobrille ist locker etc. Die neuen Räume sind mit Laminat ausgelegt, die Zimmer haben modernere Möbel erhalten, die Bäder wurden saniert und modernisiert und sind gut. Das Personal macht durch seinen exzellenten Service und seine herausragende Freundlichkeit alles wett. Das Essen ist gut, das Frühstück und Dinner in den beiden Restaurants gut.

Booked 3 rooms. At the check in hotel said they had reservations for 2 rooms only. Hotel staff took no initiative to resolve the issues with Hotel.com. They said they didn’t even have the number to contact Hotels.com. Luckily the online chat of Hotels.com was a big help. The agent resolved the issue in less than 15 minutes. So, highly dissatisfied with Peerless Inn, but quite satisfied with Hotels.com.

I and my wife stayed at Peerless Inn for 04 nights from 20-24 January 2020. We chose this hotel for its location and being a 4* we were expecting basic minimum standards. Our nightmare started from the time we checked in. Since, we had booked online and prepaid for the entire duration of our stay, we were compelled to endure the nightmare. We were first allotted a room on 03rd floor, overlooking a hollowed out dilapidated building so it was not possible to even open the windows. On complaining, next day we were allotted a room on the 08th floor overlooking a street infested with Hawkers and the Hawkers were so loud that it is impossible to rest during day time. Nights were worse, every morning we got up with severe backache since, the beds had ‘bonnell spring’ mattresses. And being used to ‘natural foam’ mattresses, we just could not sleep. Apparently, for environmental reasons, drinking water in the rooms was provided in glass bottles that were supposedly refilled with purified water. However, from Day 2, I started having stomach cramps and an upset tummy. After Day 3, we realized that the water being supplied was from dysfunctional UV water filters and was being handled in a very unhygienic manner. We immediately, switched over to bottled water and thankfully started recovering. The F&B arrangements were no better. Fresh juices were being mixed with water and every morning we had to ask for freshly squeezed juices without dilution. At breakfast, uncleared tables/plates were

Imagine hearing hawker calls through your 8th floor window..thats how soundproof they were. The apparently filtered water was being filled at a run down UV filter, which was not even working. At breakfast, excepting Chicken sausage, there was no other non veg item. Further, we were given diluted juice, and they knew exactly what they were serving !! The staff is so reluctant to clean tables as if it hurts their ego to do so...the first time we have come across such a lopsided approach in our experience in hospitality. In all, a very disappointing experience never to be repeated and forewarning to others.

Hotel is clean. Helpful staff. Very close to New Market which makes it harder to get in and out because of the traffic. Food quality at the restaurants have gone down significantly from the last time i stayed here. Hopefully the management will take care of it.
