The minute you enter the hotel the lovely fragrance is a prelude to things to come. The staff is friendly, kind , helpful and welcoming. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The restaurant had an extensive buffet or an al a crate menu. Either choice was extremely satisfying. The popl and gym were amazing. The gym clean and well equipped. The pool was the perfect temperature ( a little cool at first) but a delightful escape from the hot weather. If you have the opportunity, please stay at the Westin… you will be so happy did .

This is a nice hotel and what you would expect from the brand. You get a luxury experience at a very good price. When I checked into this hotel, I had a problem with the cleanliness of my bathroom. But the hotel rectified it straight away and several members of management apologized. I also paid for half-board at the hotel, which included breakfast and dinner. The buffets for each meal were quite expansive and catered to multicultural tastes. Wherever in the world you are traveling from, you will find suitable food. I enjoyed the Indian dishes but the buffet offered other cuisines as well. The hotel is far from the city center, so you will need a taxi or an Uber to get into the heart of the city. And Kolkata traffic is atrocious, especially during the late afternoon and early evening. You should factor that into your plans. Overall, very good value for the price.

It was okay since at the beginning I had to face some service issues. Overall is good. Amit( one of managers at the restaurant where breakfast was served) was very professional & crew members were well behaved.

Comfortable stay
Comfortable and convenient hotel. The hotel is a Westin high rise and felt like Westins around the world. Everything worked. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good. Room was good size and I slept well. Bathroom was great. Location is convenient relative to airport and Salt Lake. Cleanliness is adequate but not exceptional and there were some minor rough edges here and there.

My one-night stay at Westin Kolkata was exceptional. The hotel's ambiance was elegant, and the staff was incredibly hospitable especially Shruti Pandey (Front Office), providing top-notch service from check-in to check-out. She made sure the room was immaculate, offering a blend of comfort and luxury. The amenities were fantastic, especially the fitness center and the pool area. The dining experience was delightful, with a wide array of delicious options. Overall, my stay was nothing short of outstanding, and I'd highly recommend Westin Kolkata for a memorable and comfortable stay.

The Westin is a luxury Hotel with all amenities. The affluent locals use the restaurant because of it's excellent food and variety of dishes available. The most exceptional thing about the Westin is its courteous and attentive staff. They couldn't have been kinder and we felt we made friends. I give this hotel Five stars and say thank you to the staff. Thanks to Pryanka and Sajan in the dining room.

The property is 5 stars, but the service is maybe 2. The staff is really unprofessional - when we checked in, the receptionist made a big deal with changing the card on file. We were there for three days, but the staff left us 2 rolls of toilet paper and we had to find the room service cart on a different floor to get more after calling and asking multiple times. Many small things also added up - I had to prove, for example, that my swimming trunks were in fact swimming trunks and not cotton pants. Although there were numerous staff in the lobby, nobody ever held the door open for us while we were moving luggage. We asked to do laundry and also for the cost, but they took our clothes without specifying and charged us an exorbitant amount in cash without providing us with a physical copy of the bill - again we had to force the receptionist to print us a copy. Overall, a fairly poor stay - the only bright spot was the food.

From the start, this was a disappointing stay. We had a terrible check-in wherein the property charged us extra for our child, though our booking already included the child. Here, we would like to appreciate the effort put in by Expedia in clarifying & resolving the issue. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out as the property wasn’t supportive. During the stay, we found the bath tub needed maintenance intervention before it could be used. Also, the housekeeping too wasn’t regular. Overall, the staff behaviour too wasn’t friendly. We did discuss this with a few managers & a chef. They showed a lot of understanding and were quite supportive. In the end, the overall experience, unfortunately, was far below our expectations.

Getting back it’s pre-Covid mojo
I stayed at Westin Kolkata both pre and post Covid19. There is definitely a difference in terms of overall maintenance of the hotel. It’s getting back on track now and that’s pleasing. The 10th floor restaurant’s food and staff are amazing - all of them! Reception area needs to get back it’s old mojo and you can see the effort being put in. Unfortunately some of the chaos in the reception area is caused by guests who feel entitled as they are in a 5* hotel but that aside the reception does need a refurbishment. Communications between reception and concierge MUST improve. It’s broken (more than once for us). Overall staff are nice, courteous and helpful! I will recommend this place.

Check in took so long it was ridiculous. Tried to give me a smaller room than the one I paid for. When I finally got to the room I expected, the sofa was so stained I wouldn’t sit on it. Housekeeping removed it and brought two clean chairs. Very good happy hour…free drinks which was just what I needed after the horrendous check in.
