I read a lot of the reviews prior to staying here and was a bit worried about what we would encounter on our trip. Needless to say, this place is an absolute steal for the price you pay. Clean, safe, close to the beach - what more can you ask for? Some people have claimed that their place was outdated but ours was quite nice. This may be due to the luck of the draw since each unit is owned by someone different and there is a lot of variation in what you’ll end up with. As for us, we couldn’t be happier with our stay.

Expedia photos are VERY deceiving! Photos showed beautiful updated and remodeled units. We ended up with a unit that hadn't been updated since the 70's. Lumpy dirty carpet in the bedrooms. Mold and mildew in the bathrooms. Ceiling fans with broken chains and dirt buildup on blades. Unpainted Patched holes in the wall above sliding glass door. Old fixtures and furniture. Tub faucet leaks. Rusty beach chairs, no umbrella. We paid a cleaning fee upfront yet I was picking up dead bugs in the bathroom and wiping everything off in the kitchen. Rusty refrigerator. Old fashioned keys that stick instead of keyless entry. We paid TOP dollar for a unit that needs to be completely remodeled. VERY deceptive marketing. We should be refunded something since we reserved an updated unit and paid for one but didn't receive one. Paid 3k for the week. The grounds were beautiful and well kept and all the other units that had doors open were very nice. Location is perfect. They just gave us the bottom of the barrel with the oldest and most run down unit!

Check in took 45 minutes which is too long. We were surprised with additional fees at check in. It seemed that Expedia and the property were not on the same page. We were charged $450 that I don’t understand. The total cost was reasonable but I did not see the value once the added fees were included. The grounds are pleasant and well kept. Our rental unit was a bit “tired” but staff quickly addressed most of the issues. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Rented apt 922. There is no ac in the whole apartment. They put a portable ac unit in the bedroom and so we spent the entire stay locked in the bedroom because it was too hot and humid in the rest of the place. They did not mention that in the description at all. It was horrible. Do not rent apt 922. Each apt is owned by a different person so it is only managed by Aston Properties.

Poipu Sands Condos at Aston Poipu Kai.
Was offered a 3 bedroom house to stay in upon arrival even though I only paid for a 2 BR condo. The house did not have air conditioning, but the condo did. Stayed at Poipu Sands. Perfect location walking distance from Shipwreck beach. Condo was better than good. Two master bedrooms each with a good working AC unit.

The place needs renovation, carpets were dirty, only had AC in the bedroom. The living room, kitchen and hallways were warm as we had a southern exposure. The bedroom had a single AC unit. that ran all night, the bedroom needs window treatments if you wanted to sleep in past 7am as it was bright.

Spacious lodging, HUGE flat screen tv and entertainment system (didn't use), the lanai on the second floor was a lovely surprise.
The only downfall was that the front door was wiggly, and VERY hard to open. We struggled every time getting in. We went to the property office and they filled out a maintenance form. I hope they fix it before our next visit.

The best thing about the Aston at Poipu Kai is the proximity to the beach; it is an easy 1/4 or so walk. The property is dated and we did not find it to be clean. There was sand all over the washing machine and caked in gooey detergent. There is not more 3 minutes of hot water no matter what time of day it is either. While the staff responded to our concerns and sent maintenance; the hot water issue was not resolved. The maintenance staff was friendly and efficient but the front desk staff was brusk.

Lovely - just not what we were expecting
We booked a 2 bar/2 ba condo and wound up with a ginormous house. It was beautiful but was in a neighborhood rather than in a resort setting. We certainly acclimated quickly but I think it would have been nice to know upon booking this may be an option.

Thank you for your feedback. We greatly appreciate it. Yes, our Front Desk is open from 7AM-7PM daily. However, we do have a 24 hour patrol service on property. Their contact number is listed in your welcome letter that you receive upon checking in. If you are checking in after hours, your welcome letter is provided in your late check in packet. We also have our 24 hour Call Center phone located outside our Front Office. Our Call Center and Patrol Services are 24 hour and they are both able to contact a manager after hours if needed. Sehr nette weitläufige Ferienanlage an zum Teil großartigen Buchten, Wohneinheiten teilweise jedoch recht weit vom Strand entfernt (Auto empfehlenswert), Apartments großzügig und gut bis sehr gut ausgestattet gestattet, Häuser ansich jedoch abgewohnt und renovierungsbedürftig, hohe Endreinigunggebühr von ca 220 USD. In Summe gut bis sehr gut mit Verbesserungspotenzial 😊
