Een Gearasdan werd volledig gerenoveerd volgens de hoogste normen in 2007 en won het jaar daarop de prestigieuze RIAS-prijs, waarop de eigenaren terecht trots zijn. Het huis kan comfortabel 8/10 slapen - het is groot genoeg voor 2 gezinnen of een grote groep vrienden. Het is uitgerust met moderne meubels en heeft een frisse inrichting. Beneden accommodatie bestaat uit een grote garderobe, bijkeuken met wasmachine, droger, koelkast met vriesvak, een w. c en doucheruimte. Vanuit de gang zijn 4 tweepersoonsslaapkamers (twee met twee eenpersoonsbedden, één met kingsize en één met superking) (één met eigen badkamer), een familiedouche en een aparte tv-lounge met een kleine slaapbank voor twee personen. Boven is licht en open gepland met een volledig uitgeruste keuken met grote koelkast, ovens en magnetron. Er is een goed gevulde bibliotheek met interessante boeken en familiespellen, en een eettafel voor 10 personen. Drie grote banken omringen een moderne Jotul-houtkachel. Het huis biedt alle comfort die nodig is om uw vakantie compleet te maken.

Gezellige lichte woning in leuke omgeving gelegen.

Prachtige woning die je ook tijdens regenachtige dagen voldoende comfort en mooie uitzichten biedt. De woning is goed uitgerust, bedden zijn prima. Hoewel schoonmaak en onderhoud beter kan, vinden wij het zeker een aanrader.

Stunning location and a great house for a group of family and friends

Great beach walks and trips over to Skye on the Ferry. A lovely shop and pub in the village - and even a nearby brewery, which we visited a few times too. Plenty of Cycling/ paddle boarding done - and loads of wildlife to see. We will definitely go back.

My family and I spent 5 nights at this beautiful house.The location is lovely with amazing views across to Isle of Skye.From booking to check in the experience was good as the host responded to messages quickly through the website. Facilities within the property are good with lots of extras for families with small children The village itself has a small shop and a local pub. I would highly recommend having dinner at the pub, food is really good.Ferry trip over to Skye was also a really interesting experience.

Another Wonderful Stay

We love this property. It is a great space for sharing with family and friends. Fabulous views over to Skye and close to the pub. What more can you want ? Great facilities. Laundry room and a huge boot room at the entrance so plenty of room for jackets and walking boots etc. Four good size bedrooms and a downstairs lounge. Upstairs is such a wonderful space and it really makes the property a great place to be. Good communication with the owner which always helps.

A very welcome break

Our fourth stay here and we just love it. The scenery and tranquility is fantastic. The house itself offers everything we could need and the local pub is so close. We did some paddle boarding this year which was new to some of us. Apart from that we did some walking, geo-cashing -again, new for some of us - and general lazing about. Another great week and next year to look forward to !

The property is perfectly situated in the wonderful village of Glenelg. Well fitted out with all your needs covered . My only suggestion would be a 4 slot toaster, not 2 , considering the property sleeps 8! Wonderful upside down house, amazing views and a wonderful living space icorporating, kitchen, dining and lounge with lovely log burner. Ample parking and amazing boot room keeping all coats, boits, rucksacks etc out of the way. Thank you

Amazing Location

The property is in a beautiful location overlooking the Isle of Skye. Check in process was easy and communication with the host was very good. Our queries were answered quickly and they were able to accommodate our stay to fit in with our tour of Scotland. There were a couple of issues whilst we were there but we communicated with the host over these and Kay was quick to come back to us. We wanted the first leg of our holiday to be somewhere remote and this is most definitely it. The village shop and the Glenelg Inn are very useful village amenities as the closest Coop is a 40 minute drive. Amazingly peaceful and relaxing!

Lovely holiday

Glenelg is a beautiful place and the house is situated in a very tranquil spot overlooking Skye. The upstairs of the house is beautiful, great set up, well equipped kitchen and lots of games and books for the family. Kay was great to deal with and very quick to reply which was appreciated. Highlights for us; Sea kayaking in Plockton Pony trekking in Glenshiel Mam Ratagan Also coming back to the beautiful house after a long walk was great- the fire stick in the telly worked really well as did the wifi. Only things I would highlight are we found the sliding doors downstairs difficult to open (some blinds do not stay up) and the bedroom level could maybe use a wee freshen up (some stains on carpet in ensuite etc). Just small things which didn’t spoil the stay at all but maybe things to do in quieter periods. We would definitely return though- it is a very special place.

A Wonderful Week Away

This was our third time at An Gearasdan. We find the house to be ideal for housing us and all the kids who are now grown up. The house has everything you could possibly need for a week away. The kitchen is well equipped with various sizes of pans, bowls etc., lots of cutlery as well as food mixer, coffee maker, roasting tins etc. A short stroll to the pub for a lovely meal and the beach is close by for picnics.

A great location and brilliant communication and support from the owners. The house is in a great spot, with stunning views of Skye from indoors and outside. The local pub was a delight, for food and atmosphere. We kayaked around the Sound of Sleet, enjoyed the beaches and the tranquility. We’lll definitely be back.
