A good sized property, on the seashore, so ideal for those who want to kayak. The kitchen is well equipped which is a big bonus, although the local pub is only five minutes walk away. There's plenty of hot water, but we found the shower to be lacking in power. We did not find the heating system easy, primarily because the dials for the timers for some heaters, were small and difficult to read. There was an additional heater in the living room which made it cosy but not in the kitchen. We tried contacting the cleaner over another issue, the lack of dishwasher tablets, but she did not respond so had no one to help resolve the heating. The kitchen was therefore colder than we would have liked.
We had fun watching a sheep head butt the latches on the gates to gain access to the garden. She did not succeed at the front, but she did at the back. She gave our dog the shock of his life when he came face to face with her one evening after dark, and he's a border collie! Maybe an elasticated luggage strap or some such device would help to keep her out.
The surrounding area is beautiful and we were lucky enough to get a close sighting of a golden eagle.
We were caught out by the ferry coming back from Skye as the operators seem to have no way of warning potential passengers at the Broadford end when they are shutting early. It might be worth checking at Glenelg before you set out
