Set in the wooded Eden Parc estate in the Landes area, less than an hour from Bordeaux, this spacious home has a real holiday feel about it, and would be perfect for a family group of up to eight people. The surrounding pine trees make the villa feel very private and, but there are shops and plenty of restaurants nearby and it's a pleasant cycle along dedicated paths to the beach, just 4km away.

With so much going on within a few miles of Villa Samasti, it's the perfect choice for a group with varied interests, or for an active family who want to fill every day with fun.

This detached property surrounded by pine forests has plenty of room for up to eight people in four bedrooms, with three bathrooms.

The main entrance will take you to the first floor, where you will find a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. This floor is also home to the laundry and integral garage.

The main living area, on the floor below, is open plan. There's a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area and a seating area which are all decorated in blues, whites and greens, giving it a real oceanside feel. Furniture is simple, and the room is cool, light and airy - perfect for those long, hot, summer days.

The living area opens on to the wraparound covered deck - a shady place to relax with a book and a cool drink. For more sunshine, move down to the pool area and stretch out on a sunbed next to the water - pure bliss. The 8x4m pool is a good size for simply cooling off or a bit of a workout.

There are two double bedrooms on this floor, as well as a shower room with double sinks. The master bedroom is on the second floor, and has its own balcony overlooking the pool and the golf course beyond. There's an attic room above this, which has been made into a children's play room.

The wooded grounds of Villa Samasti offer plenty of opportunity to find a secluded spot to get away from it all, or for parties around the pool. If you like to eat al fresco, choose between the shaded terrace or the poolside, both are furnished.

Villa Samasti is a purpose-built holiday "residence", in the Eden Parc holiday village - an exclusive estate of just 20 villas. It's just 4km to the beach at Lacanau-Ocean on the Côte d’Argent - a mecca for surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers. There are several surf schools here too, so beginners can book up a few lessons before they go it alone. The international surfing competition, the Lacanau Pro, takes place here every August - it's a great chance to see how it's really done.

A similar distance in the opposite direction will bring you to Lacanau lake, which is popular with nature-lovers, cyclists, walkers and bird-watchers. This large lake also has areas for sailing and watersports such as stand-up paddleboarding. For the ultimate in relaxation, why not try a yoga class on a paddleboard?

Golfers won't have far to go to practise their sport - Villa Samasti overlooks a superb 18-hole golf course, and there are two other courses close by. The villa is also close to restaurants, a spa resort, a tree-top adventure park and a riding centre, so there really is something for everyone!

The fragrant pine forests surrounding the villa are crisscrossed with walking and cycle paths. Bikes can be hired locally, and several companies will deliver them to your villa.
