Is it OK to come to Maui? Yes, yes, yes.... Today is May 14, 2026.
Lahaina was severely damaged by the fires but is showing signs of rebuilding and though the recent flooding adds a different layer, Maui still needs you, us. Come, enjoy the island and aloha spirit and wherever you go travel with Pono. The person next to you may have lost someone, something, everything, all of the above. Keep that in mind, go out, have fun, tip well and all is helping towards the rebuilding process.
AND, a weekend trip is even easier than you think too, with Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines coming together the access is as easy as its ever been.
Now the good stuff, this is a ground floor, oceanfront unit, 1 bedroom/1 bathroom and truly a slice of paradise with the privacy of a small boutique-ish property housed in a two story building with ONLY twelve units. The Pikake’s beautiful not busy beach is steps from your patio door.
Experience amazing views of the ocean, the island of Lana`i to the south and Moloka`i to the north. The sunsets are ridiculous and morning rainbows are frequent. Visits and views of sea turtles, dolphins, and of course the humpback whales during winter/early spring.
This is my home away from home and was remodeled June 2023 with a new kitchen that now includes unobstructed views as you cook facing the ocean and sunsets. I find that my place is best for a couple and a child (or two) for a relaxed uncrowded experience.
The bedroom has a King bed and the living area has a brand new queen sofa bed. All new living furniture including a 70" smart tv, stainless steel appliance(s), beautiful, tiled shower with frame-less shower door and a fully equipped kitchen. Additionally, provided for convenience and fun, umbrella, beach chairs, boogie boards, ice chest for excursions, laundry basket, and snorkel gear.
Having one of the few sandy beaches in Honokowai it is not uncommon to have a turtle on the beach and depending on season, whales, whales, whales!!! There is NO A/C, but ceiling fans in bed, living room and patio and the trade winds do a pretty good job of keeping things comfortable. It’s west Maui beachfront at its best.
