Everything You Need
If you're looking for a clean and comfortable place to sleep(with AC) in the perfect location...this is the place. (Be aware the fold out couch is just a loveseat, so the bed is a single.) Not much room for hanging out inside but there is a nice covered patio with a large picnic table. All the beach gear you need including chairs, and mat, towels, boogie boards and snorkeling gear. The beautiful sandy beach is right across the two-lane street. And there is an outdoor shower to rinse off before you go in. If you want to watch TV after a long day there is access to Disney Plus, Netflix and Hulu. There are basic kitchen needs and Foodland is one minute away. The bathroom has basic soaps and a hair dryer. This apartment is attached to the house(entrance around back). The hosts are gracious and attentive but not intrusive. I also loved having a place to park inside a gated yard.

Amazing in every way
I hesitate to say how amazing this place was because I’ll never be able to book it again due to the demand. Truthfully the best stay I’ve had in Hawaii. Super clean, quiet, location cannot be beat. Set up perfectly and the hosts couldn’t be better. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.

Highly recommend this VRBO
I highly recommend this VRBO for a couple, or small families of 2 adults and 1 teen, or 2 adults and 2 small kids. Very cozy with all the amenities you need. It's a 2-minute walk to a huge/amazing beach and a 10-15 minute drive to the beaches on the North Shore. It also has a fenced-in driveway with a remote for the gate to a beautiful yard. Grocery stores like Foodland are just down the road, and it's within walking distance of the Polynesian Cultural Center. The owner (Kelly) is very friendly, and nice. Communication with her was easy if you need anything. Again, I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. A perfect location for a perfect vacation! Mahalo Kelly

Great stay on the North Shore
Great place to stay. The apartment is very nicely updated and quite comfortable. Also, it is extremely secure and private, as it is on a locked property. The owner was easy to work with and responded quickly to our questions and inquiries. They have several sets of beach chairs, snorkel gear, and other beach accessories available for guests to use, which was great since these are not cheap to buy in that area. Overall a great place for a couple to stay, and just a few steps from the beach across the street, and very close to the famous beaches of the north shore. What would be useful in the future is perhaps an extra hot plate for cooking, as it was a bit challenging to cook with only one, as well as some extra pots/pans. Would stay here again!

Such an amazing stay
Kelly and her family were super accommodating. We loved that she had beach gear for us to use as getting on the beach was the first thing we wanted to do upon our arrival. We couldn't have asked for more for our stay. The house was clean, beds comfortable and we love the huge shower that awaited us after being on the beach. Parking is a big issue on the island so being able to park in their property and have the vehicle secure is an added bonus! We will recommend all our friends and family to stay here if they decided to visit the island!

Perfect place to relax
The place is clean, comfortable, has all the amenities you need, and it’s right across the street from my favorite beach. What more could you ask for?! No stovetop, but a hot plate that worked just fine for us. There were even beach chairs and toys that made it more enjoyable. The hosts communicate in a timely manner and are very accommodating. Loved our time here, would stay here again!

Cute apartment in great location!
This apartment is in a really great location in Laie, with a beach right across the street. The PCC is just a few blocks away! It's easy to go up north like to Turtle Bay and not too far when you want to go to Honolulu. The apartment is very small, we had 3 people and I would recommend only 2. There is AC in the bedroom and living room, but the kitchen and bathroom get pretty warm as there is no vent in the bathroom. The AC was out upon our arrival and after a few hours of it not cooling down I texted the owners and they changed the unit within hours. After that it cooled very nicely. There is no washer/dryer so keep that in mind if you are staying very long. They must not provide any fresh towels because I texted the owner several days into our stay asking to trade out towels and got no response. The patio is wonderful to sit outside and enjoy a meal, and the backyard is beautiful and private. They provided snorkels and boogie boards, but we were expecting paddle boards since they were shown in the pictures. It is a nice, clean little apartment that is nicely updated. Plenty of kitchen equipment as well. The did rent the upstairs to the house while we were there too, so parking could have been an issue with their 5 cars plus mine, but the renters were very nice to make sure to leave me one of the parking spots. It was overall a good stay!

I’m glad you had an overall enjoyable stay. I’m sorry- I didn’t get your message about needing more towels. I definitely would have brought some by! And we do offer paddle Boards for guest use. We just keep them put away until Requested. I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. We normally don’t have people renting our home, so I’m glad the car situation worked out fine. This is a great apartment. It was actually a little bigger than I expected. The only downside was no microwave in the kitchen bit there were other appliances. The owners were responsive with questions and it was a great location. It was really nice to have some beach towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear, umbrella, and boogie boards.

We loved out stay here. The only recommendation I have is screens on the windows for when it's nice enough to not use the ac. And a fan for the middle of the apartment bcuz the bathroom/kitchenette gets hot. And maybe some signage or directions to the apartment once you arrive. I wondered around a little lost for a few minutes We loved the location and the coziness of the apartment. It was a great home base for us and close to everything. I wish we could have stayed there longer.

Great location and was exactly as advertised. What we didn't expect was mold in the shower, no smoke detectors (and no one offered to come and replace it) and only two towels (someone did come and bring more towels after I contacted the property manager). And while the place was exactly like the photos, I didn't expect about 24 bottles of hotel shampoo, three large bottles of cheap shampoo (one is plenty) and a fridge full of used condiments and other stuff in the pantry. For some reason, the cheap bottles of shampoo and dozens of hotel soap was insulting to me. I don't use them when I stay at a hotel. Why would I want hers?? If the owner wanted to leave some shampoo, no problem. Leave one cheap bottle of shampoo/conditioner. But the tiny bathroom was FILLED with half used bottles of various products. I couldn't find space to place my toiletries. Another problem is the musty smell. I suspect the owner may not live in the upstairs (this was a basement studio) and contracts the housecleaning. Maybe the homeowner is unaware that the cleaning crew is doing such a lousy job. So to summarize our stay, we were pleased with the location and the AC, but we were terribly disappointed in the musty smell and lack of attention when we contacted the property manager. As a property owner, I'm quite surprised that no one rushed over to get us smoke detectors. There is a whole house above this unit. And I assure you, if a renter dies in a fire and the fire dept determines there are no working smoke detectors, the family would own that place. I'm hoping the owner was just unaware of these issues. We didn't contact her as she sent us a message telling us to contact her property manager as she was away from the home. We left feeling like the red headed step child tucked away in the basement.

Very nice for two people
We enjoyed our stay and the place is perfect for two people! Few things we had issues with....The entrance door to our room would not lock so we had to leave it unlocked every time we went out. The code works but the lock does not. You can manually lock it from the inside. Kelly was out of town and the number to call for help no one answered and I left a message but no return call. The upstairs AC drips over the entrance door so you had a wet mat and dripped on every time you walked in. The bedroom closet is broken and comes off the track. There is a sewage vent leak in the bathroom that needs to be fixed. AC filter in living room was dirty so had to clean it after that it cooled really well. Guess were in the main house so there was some noise at night. We loved having the beach across the road, secure parking, and very nice backyard to relax in. We would stay again and recommend this place but need to fix the things listed first. Access to a washer and dryer would be a plus.

Nice stay. Living room and dining are quite small but the bedroom and bathroom are full size. Had problems with the WiFi most of the time we were there. Wouldn’t recommend for more than two people. Overall a good experience, though.

Super Clean and convienent to Laie attractions
This is a super clean, and close to all the North Shore attractions. (Laie) PCC, BYU H etc. This was the perfect place for my wife and I. It maybe a little cramped with 3 + adults but Doable. The living room area is a little small, but you are never in the house much.( its Hawaii) It had everything we needed, most importantly a clean bed and a nice size bathroom. The gated parking is a very nice bonus!!

A little bit of paradise
The house is in a great location! It's right in the north shore located with beautiful look out points, beaches and tons of great food! The house itself is perfect! There is an outside shower when coming home from the beach. There is charis, umbrella, biggie boards, and snorkel gear!! Great place to stay!! We can't wait to come back ❤️🌴❤️

Great location!
We stayed here a week while attending a wedding on the North Shore. Conveniently located, this place was perfect for the two of us. It was very well kept, comfortable, and fairly priced. There is a nice beach right across the street. I would recommend this place to anyone staying on the north shore who wanted more of a home-like setting.

Wonderful!
Fantastic location right in front of Hukilau Beach. Very cute, and very clean. There were two rooms, one with a double/queen where I slept, and my daughter slept on the pull-out couch, which she thought was very comfortable. I was so incredibly impressed with so many details put into it - all kinds of products in the bathroom in case you forgot something - even sunscreen and bug spray! The beach chairs provided, and snorkel equipment, were incredibly useful for us. Adorable property with gate that made me feel secure. Wall and portable AC that cooled the place down right away. Walking distance to Huklilau Cafe, and short drive to Polynesian Cultural Center and LDS Temple, which was important to us. Family-oriented, quiet, nonsmoking property. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful place!
My friends and I stayed here while exploring the North Shore and absolutely loved it! The rental accommodated 3 people comfortably. Everything you needed for the beach was there for you to use, and we were so grateful for that! Right across the street from the beach and short driving distance to all other amenities, which was very convenient. We were there in July and A/C was a life saver during the humid, hot weather. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, friendly and accommodating hosts. Secure parking, across from a beautiful beach. Loved the use of the beach chairs. Appreciated the air conditioning, fridge, and all the other amenities. Close to most of the activities/points of interest that we wanted to see. Honolulu only an hour away for the odd things that we were interested in seeing/doing there. We were more interested in the north shore and rural Hawaii. Would recommend this property.

Why you should stay here!!!!!
This was my first time to Hawaii and feel so lucky that I found this wonderful place to stay. We were there 5 days/4 night. Great place to stay for 2 main reasons. 1. The property is newly renovated and feels like a small suite. The whole property is gorgeous and kept neat and clean. It was also very helpful to have snorkeling equipment, beach towels/chairs and boogie boards available for use along with an outside shower to rinse off after the beach. Another added bonus is the kitchen has the necessary basics to be able to buy and stock up for a quick breakfast /lunch. The weather was warm and humid so having the AC units upon return from a busy day outside was refreshing, being able to cool off within minutes. 2. The location was perfect for our stay in Laie. Access to the beach across the street, (great way to start the day with a stroll along the beach) bus stop across the street (we took it to Turtle bay and then Shark's cove for snorkeling-which was amazing!) Close to PCC and local stores. We were there for a wedding so were very busy the first few days, coming and going with preparations. This location worked great for all that needed to be done. All our friends were impressed with how great this property was too! I would definitely recommend this property and hope to be able to return someday!!! Great time in Laie
We had a wonderful time at this unit across from Hukilau beach. The unit was small but comfortable enough for my boyfriend and our 8 month old. We loved how we could walk to the beach and how quiet it was even thou it was right on Kam highway. I read reviews complaining of the owners children being noisy but we barely could hear anything. The owner was very accommodating she even went out of her way to get us a beach umbrella so our baby could get some shade. There was no stove but we cooked many meals off the hot plate. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had a spa-like feel. The unit is nicely updated and was pretty equipped, we used their coffee maker and rice cooker and I didn't have to buy cooking oil, rice, salt /pepper etc. It was very close to food land and walking distance to hukilau cafe. A short drive to North shore where we spent a lot of time. If you are looking to spend your vacay away from the hustle and bustle across from a beautiful beach then this is the place for you. We will be staying here again.

PERFECT Location and Great Ownership
We have rented many times in the past through VRBO, in various states and countries. I value responsive owners. The Chamberlains were simply outstanding to work with! Kelly is responsive, helpful, and very professional. The apartment unit itself is a renovated downstairs portion of the house. It has a separate entry and great parking in the driveway behind a remote controlled gate to the main road. The location is PERFECT! You literally walk across the street to Hukilau beach, or two blocks to the excellent Hukilau Cafe for breakfast or lunch. The home is also just one block from the 1.5 mile (one way) paved jogging/walking/bicycling pathway that runs almost all the way to Kahuku, and is less than a mile from the beautiful LDS temple grounds, BYU Hawaii, and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Be advised that the apartment does not have a washer/dryer, and we couldn't find a laundromat in town, so plan accordingly. The bedroom has a free-standing AC unit (loud but effective), but the living area can get very "stuffy," because it has no AC and is located on the SW corner of the ground floor, and all the breeze comes off the ocean from the E and N sides--so you don't get any breeze inside. Overall we had a very good experience, and I will recommend this rental to friends.

Perfect location, new, secure, and clean
We really enjoyed this location on Oahu. The Laie area of the island was perfect for the activities that we had planned. The apartment was clean, new, and well appointed. It did get a little warm in the place but the owner has included A/C for a minimal (and reasonable) fee. The ability to get in and out of the parking was easy to manage and Kelly was great to work with. We thought that we had everything when we left and forgot a portable charger and Kelly kindly mailed it to us. Seven Brothers was awesome, PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center just down the road) was a blast, place is very near the Laie LDS Temple, and Kualoa Ranch is 13 miles away (we loved that place!) It was a bit of a drive to Pearl Harbor but well worth staying where we did to avoid the Honolulu and Waikiki area of the island. Mahalo!

We had a wonderful stay here! The house was very clean and updated. I didn't even feel the need to sanitize everything like I usually do when staying at a rental or hotel! Which says a lot. The yard was gorgeous and the rental is literally right across the street from the beach. And it is a great beach for kids. Kelly accommodated us in so many ways! There were also a lot more kitchen appliances than listed. We almost decided not to stay here because we wanted to prepare most of our food. Grateful we asked for details. There was a crockpot, rice cooker, plug in hot plate, toaster, microwave, griddle, etc. I would highly recommend staying here!

Amazing location and very clean!
I highly suggest renting this property! Kelly's rental is great! There were 3 of us that stayed for 11 days - May 10-21, 2016. The rental was VERY clean, neat, and had everything we needed jus as described. The bed was so comfy - had a memory foam topper. There were plenty of bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, beach mat, snorkel gear, and even boogie boards. The tiled walk-in shower is GREAT! I sure miss it now that we are home! Location, location, location! Hukilau Beach is across the street and is fabulous! Rarely more than 15 people during the week, Sandy bottom, waves for playing in the surf..we have been to Oahu 6 times and had never gone to Hukilau... I know we will during future visits! Our privacy was well respected. We rarely ever heard or saw them. However, Kelly was readily available if we needed her. She even sent over some homemade cookies! The only semi-negative remarks I have ..it was a bit warm in the rental if you are inside during the heat of the day. The huge ceiling fan in the bedroom and portable fan in the living area makes it bareable until late afternoon. Who stays in the room when you are in Hawaii??? There is only 1 TV in the living area. If you are used to one in the bedroom, there isn't one. We were normally so tired by 9 or 10, it really didn't matter to us. We will definitely stay here in the future! Great Quiet Getaway
My wife and I stayed for five days for a quiet getaway away from the craziness in and around Honolulu and our lives on the mainland. This place met our needs perfectly. The apartment was new and very well kept. Kelly was very helpful and answered all of our questions. It is a very short walk (just across the road) to the beach. The beach itself had great swimming and never had very few other people. A short drive to sunset beach and other popular north shore locations. It was also within walking distance of the Laie LDS temple and the Polynesian Cultural Center. We absolutely loved are stay and would definitely stay again.

A great rental...for a certain type of person
I'll start with the overwhelming positives: The property owners are super nice, and so are their four kids. Kelly was very good at getting back to us quickly, and was incredibly helpful and friendly. Another huge plus is the cleanliness. We really appreciated how clean everything was in the beautiful condo. They clearly put pride into this suite and it shows. The towels are fluffy and the bedding is soft. We also fell in love with the rainfall shower! We also liked the location, as we were just across the street from a great beach. They're also very close to the town of Laie, which has some great activities, though I'd stay away if you plan on going out for a drink, as it's a dry Mormon town. However, I do think it's important to say that this rental may not be for everyone. My husband and I were on our honeymoon looking for some quiet alone time, and there virtually wasn't a time during the day/evening that we couldn't hear the family in the house clear as day (the only time was Sunday morning, when I'm assuming they left for church for a while), or hear them walking/running above us. I could pick up complete conversations between the family members (and there are four kids including at least one young child, so it's a lot of people). It was hard watching TV because of the noise over the TV. However, when I texted the owner one time to ask about the noise, she did get everyone to quiet down, but I didn't want to constantly have to text them asking them to be quiet in their own home, so I left it alone after that. So, if you're looking for quiet, you may not find it here, as the walls seem to be very poorly insulated and the suite is right beside their kitchen. BUT some people may not need that and may be out doing activities a lot, so then this would be a great affordable solution. Additionally, the rental ad mentions a kitchen equipped with appliances and conveniences to cook. This is one of the reasons we rented this property, as we like to cook. However, there really isn't, to my knowledge, the appliances they're suggesting. There may be a hot plate, but there is no oven or stove, so baking anything is impossible. But again, if you're not needing an equipped kitchen and plan to eat out a lot, then that shouldn't matter. Anyways, I hope I've left a fair review. I really liked the owners, specifically Kelly, a lot and think this is a great choice in rentals IF you're the right type of guest.

Aloha Beth- I appreciate your review. We love to have happy guests and we take your feedback seriously. I'm sorry it wasn't as quiet as usual due to family visiting. We live in this home but we are conscious of the noise level for our guests and want our guests to feel at home and have the privacy they desire. As advertised on VRBO, the kitchen is equipped with certain appliances but does not list an oven or stove. Our goal is for our guests to be very happy and we would never be misleading. We're glad your overall stay was pleasant and we appreciate your comments. Mahalo! Kelly
