'Everything nice'

'My check-in experience at this Holiday Inn Michigan City was disappointing. I waited at the front desk for about five minutes before a staff member came out. Instead of greeting or assisting the guests who had been waiting in person, she answered the phone and helped the caller first. It was frustrating to stand there waiting only to be overlooked in favor of someone calling in. A simple acknowledgment or checking in the guests who were already at the desk would have made for a much better first...

'Clean room. Helpful staff. Did not use the indoor pool, but it looked nice!'

'The room that we stay was air unit on the room was very noisy we could not sleep. The coffee and breakfast were bad.'

'There was no office. Front of building including restaurant appeared shut down for renovations. No sign out front. Trashy people hanging around various places outside, so I left and found another place to stay.'

'Just be aware that they have roaches. We saw one within the first 15 minutes of us being in our room. They did give us a full refund but I wish I would have known before bringing my baby in there.'

'Checking in was awful as they tried to sell us a more expensive room with all kinds of excuses. Fine if you want to upgrade us for free, but don’t start with all the nonsense. The rooms are in need of an update. Would not stay here again.'

'Staff was very accomodating. Really enjoyed the place, a bit old timey but for the price you cant beat it. Free Coffee in the lobby was Ok. Free bkfst, was yucks...but no worries Mcd up the road 3 minutes. Loved the manager and his family, they work hard to keep things nice.'

'New owners are starting to get the property around, but there's a ways to go. I don't know about all the rooms, but our shower was not good. They need to tear out all the old spa tubs and flooring and install modern bathroom settings. Our room had a bit of a musty odor too, whatever needs to be done to mitigate that should be high on the priority list. The property has great spaces, we loved the firepit and the the rest of our room outside the bath. The location is great for walking to town, and...

'This hotel was just fine- not super clean, but fine for just sleeping in. i’m sure it must’ve been a busy time, but we almost couldn’t find a spot to park our car in the lot.The surfaces in the room were pretty grubby, and that’s just what we could see. The air in the room worked alright but it was super loud. Seems like a kind of “you get what you pay for” kind of situation.'

'The old photos of the house in the common areas were a nice touch. Plus it is very close to the two Dunes (Indiana and National) parks.'
