  • Geniet van het uitzicht op het meer op de bergen vanaf de 360 graden afgeschermde veranda van dit historische huis aan het water. Geweldig uitzicht bij de vuurplaats of het botenhuis. Neem je favoriete boek of je kinderen mee naar het stadsstrand naast de deur; er zijn strandwachten en een zwemplatform het grootste deel van de zomer en het biedt een volleybalveld voor familieplezier. Kajak of kano vanuit onze haven, of lanceer uw 10 pk vissersboot vanuit de staatslancering op de weg. Voor gelicentieerde vissers en vrouwen is hier geweldig vissen, direct aan de kade of op het meer! Vier van de vijf slaapkamers hebben uitzicht op het meer. Twee volledige baden zijn voorzien van een bad op pootjes en een opstaande douche. Volledig gerenoveerde kombuis keuken heeft granieten werkbladen, een full-size koelkast, een vaatwasser, een gasfornuis met ingebouwde bakplaat en een boerderij wastafel. Hardhouten vloeren. Het huis is een eeuwwisseling Victoriaanse met veel originele details zorgvuldig bewaard. Ons huis is goed gevuld en biedt eigenlijk alles wat u nodig heeft voor een geweldige familievakantie. Als u iets speciaals nodig heeft, vraag het ons dan van tevoren.

    Het dorp Saranac Lake ligt op loopafstand en Lake Placid ligt op ongeveer 15 minuten met de auto. Dewey Mountain ski (Nordic) en mountainbike centrum Minnesota Street. Whiteface Mountain ligt op ongeveer 40 minuten. Overal beschikbare activiteiten en binnen slechts enkele minuten van het huis. Verschillende wandelingen met piektoppen, lokaal park met basketbaltennis en kinderattracties liggen op loopafstand op een beschermd pad, mountainbiken, Mount Pisgah, kunst en antieke galerijen, een historische carrousel, Lake Flower en Saranac Lake bootlanceringen, de boerenmarkt, en hoofdstraat met eten en entertainment. Het Pendragon-theater en het Lake Placid Center for the Arts bieden uitstekende afleidingen.

Our group of 10 came here to finish the Adirondack rail trail, which we did.Some chose to go fishing instead, with success, on Lake Colby.This house is conveniently located for most outdoor activities.We enjoyed the lake view while relaxing on the wrap-around porch.The kitchen is a little tight for a large group, but otherwise there’s plenty of room to spread out in the vintage living & dining areas. The 125 year old house has been well taken care of & was well suited to our needs.

Perfect family getaway

This was the perfect spot for our big group of family. The beach was perfect for the kids and everyone enjoyed the access to the kayaks and canoes. To get a place this big on the lake was amazing!

Nice, Clean, and Spacious

We loved the view of Lake Colby and enjoyed fishing the lake in a canoe. The house was clean, spacious, and nice. There are many amenities , too many for us to use in 4 days. The location was perfect for us as we visited The Wild Center, Lake Placid, Middle Saranac Lake, and shopped in Saranac Lake.

Family time at the Lake

This house and its location are absolutely spectacular. I greatly appreciate historic architecture and the owners have done such a loving job of restoring this beautiful home. The house was equipped with everything we needed. And the boat house had canoes and kayaks for everyone. It was wonderful to see my 10 and 7 year old grandchildren get on their life jackets and take canoes out on the lake. The 4 year old loved the nearby sandy beach. The adults had a great time in the canoes and hiking. It was a good family time together, with family members coming from Salt Lake City, Rochester, and San Diego.

Property clean and comfortable. Beds very comfortable, kitchen well supplied with dishes and pots and pans. Communication with property owner great. Dock area not accessible. Short supply of bath towels and garbage bags. Mix up with check in occurred because we changed our booking to arrive one day earlier and cleaners weren't notified.

We loved our stay at this house. The location was perfect - lakefront with shallow water at the dock, and a very quick walk to the community beach. Our kids had a great time swimming and playing in the sand. For part of our week-long stay, we had the maximum number of guests (12), and the house was cozy while allowing space for everyone and included amenities for all. There are two large dining tables, great bedroom layouts (at the max, we had 7 kids staying, and they loved the bunk beds and having their own space on the third floor), enough canoes, kayaks, and life vests for everyone to participate at the same time, and enough outdoor seating for all to enjoy a campfire together. The house is very charming with a lot of character, and includes a wrap -around porch, a fireplace, a piano, two sets of stairs from the first to second floor (which the kids loved), and Adirondack theme throughout. The house was very well-appointed, and we didn't need to bring any of our own kitchen utensils, storage wrap or containers, or cleaning supplies. The house even came with laundry detergent and dryer sheets. I communicated with the owner throughout the week, and he was super responsive (within minutes) every time.

Adirondack Fun at our Fingertips

We were a family of 13, four adult couples and 5 children, ranging in age from 5 to 74!! It's hard to find a place that can accommodate us all and the Lake Colby house was it. The house has 19th century charm and it made us feel like we were really in the Adirondacks. Beds were comfortable and Todd did so much to accommodate us, even bringing over a blender for our morning smoothies and evening frozen cocktails! Everyone enjoyed reading on the porch and looking at the lake. The dining room table fit all of us for big family meals. The small table in the living room was perfect for puzzles and crafts. We enjoyed our late night talks and s'mores around the fire pit. Everyone enjoyed hopping in canoes, kayaks and paddle boards and exploring the lake. Even the five year olds were able to master the kids' kayaks. The lake itself was beautiful with lots of areas to explore from your own boat. The public beach was next door and our kids could walk or bike there without crossing a street, which made us feel safe. The kids also made a fort in the wild area past the beach. We all enjoyed walks through the state forest at the end of the road. The location was also perfect for exploring the towns of Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. There were endless activities that matched everyone's tastes. I can't recommend this house enough!

Beautiful Lake Colby Lakefront Home

I recently stayed at this home with my husband and our 4 kids ages 11 to 6. Close family friends also vacationed with us and their family included 2 adults and a 13 y/o. The home is 100+ years old and beautifully restored. The home is huge! As a party of 9 we had beds left over. We spent the majority of our week sitting on the wrap around porch and enjoying the views of the lake. When we weren't on the porch the kids loved fishing from the dock. The home has so many kayaks and canoes! We were all able to explore the lake at once. The home also included a huge variety of life jackets. The public beach which has life guards is next to the property so we could easily walk to it. The kids loved swimming to the platform at the public beach. There are several hiking and biking trails near by, Lake Placid is also a short drive away. There were so many restaurants near by, we loved Tail O' the Pup and La Bella Ristorante. At night we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and roasting s'mores. Plenty of outside seating was provided so we had less to pack. We all enjoyed the historic home which was decorated with not only Adirondack charm but also many historic items. We could tell that the home is loved by its owners and well cared for. On many days our kids didn't want to leave the house at all, they just wanted to be in the water or fish. There are many board games at the house as well. Every morning the kids would search through the game cabinet for a game to play at the dining room table. We loved that the home was close to restaurants and included so many amenities. The home owner was easily reached and he provided recommendations for different fishing locations on the lake and trails to hike/bike. Our kids said that this was one of their favorite vacations. Overall a great vacation in a beautiful home.

Lake Colby Trip

This is a beautiful lake with plenty to do. We fished, kayaked and canoed. We brought our own canoe, but there were plenty of kayaks, canoes and lake toys available for our use. We took a boat out on the connecting lakes one day and hiked several others. The location was great-close to Saranac, a supermarket and restaurants and a quick easy drive to all the Lake Placid attractions.

Paddling the Adirondacks

Very convenient location. On the water. Our group of 10 adults found the place most comfortable. We paddled each day from a different Putin exploring beautiful Adirondack’s waterways. Spent late afternoons overlooking the water from the deck enjoying a cold beverage and later cooked marshmallows at the fire pit. Would recommend the place highly. Paul

Spring break

The listing described the house accurately and the pictures were helpful. The location was perfect for giving our daughter a break from the dorm room as the college had an abbreviated break of 2 days off so we went to her instead of her coming home. If the weather were warmer it would have been ideal for some kayaking as the lake is in the backyard. It was lovely to have a fireplace and to enjoy. We were able to enjoy cooking together and having relaxing family time together.

Beautiful house- close to lots

Beautiful house that was plenty big enough for my family of 12. Great location and a gorgeous wrap around porch and view of the lake. Could use some small upgrades- like a better banister on the 2nd floor at the top of the stairs and a door on one of the bedrooms on the 3rd floor. But its a picturesque Adirondack lakehouse!

Saranac Lake House

Highly recommend staying here. I was pleased to see how clean it was. The house presents the true Adirondack atmosphere. We went to celebrate my mother in-laws 80th Birthday. The lake house was a delight. Two “80 somethings “ maneuvered easily through the house including the upstairs. The owners were pleasant and very accommodating. They give a deep cleaning between clients. The house is WELL stocked with I’d have to say everything we needed and then some. Thank you, my in laws talked about making this an annual trip!
