Dit is het meer huisje je grootmoeder tijdens haar kinderjaren bezocht. Charmante, originele 1920 kenmerken. Grote vernieuwde keuken (nieuw fornuis / oven) en de grote woonkamer voor familiereünies en gasten. 9 personen in alle comfort; het heeft vaak geslapen 20. Veranda kijkt Lake Wononscopomuc - diepste meer in Connecticut. Dicht bij trein naar New York en recreatie faciliteiten, in het hart van de New England onafhankelijke school wereld en precies goed voor de familie van de maanden mei en juni, het einde van school en afstuderen in het weekend. Grenzend aan Hotchkiss School en Interlaken Inn. Grote vissen, wandelen (met inbegrip van de toegang tot Appalachian Trail), antiek, golf, tennis, herfst gebladerte, openluchttheater, dans en kunst. Prachtige veranda zitten. Houtkachel, open haard en elektrische kachels omgaan met extra koele avonden of ochtenden. Barbecue op gas supplementen 2 overdekte ovens en fornuis. WiFi, TV, telefoon.

Let op: dit is geen goede plek voor wilde of late night partijen. Het is gelegen op een rustig meer, niet ver van buren die de stille schoonheid van het landelijk gebied te waarderen. Als u wilt hard feesten of plunderen het meer, ga dan ergens anders.


Culturele Activiteiten - In de buurt van Lakeville, CT: Binnen een paar mijl van Lakeville, CT zijn functies die Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, Tri-Arts Sharon Playhouse, Music Mountain, Norfolk Festival, Railroad Dagen, uitstekende restaurants, en een prachtig NW CT platteland omvatten. We zijn vijf mijl van de Appalachian Trail en vele andere wandelmogelijkheden. Lake Wononscopomuc is koel en schoon de hele zomer. Het daalt tot 180 ft binnen 250 yards van onze kust. Kajak, kano's en een meegeleverde zeilboot.

Sport: Sport omvatten alle lage snelheid watersporten - geen water skiën. Vissen is uitstekend voor Lake forel, baars, snoek, baars en meerval. Veel andere meren beken en vijvers in het gebied. De Hotchkiss School Golf cursus is ongeveer 300 yards en andere in de buurt en openbaar beschikbare cursussen zijn in Sharon, Amenia en Noord-Kanaän. Tennis is verkrijgbaar bij de stad hoven een mijl afstand. Paardrijden in de buurt is. Veel mogelijkheden om te wandelen.

The house is very comfortable and perfect for visiting with family and friends.We enjoyed the roomy kitchen space. The porch is great for relaxing and gazing at the tranquil lake. We appreciated the use of the canoe and the dock.

Don’t drive anything other than an SUV or Pickup down the driveway as it’s narrow rutted and has a mud pit right in front of the house. There are no walls and exposed wiring throughout the building. No soap or shampoo at the house for guest as is customary. The listing says it sleeps 18 but sleeps 10 only, so buyer beware. Musty smell throughout the house. Animals scratching from the basement at sunrise on the floors from below. Floors as a mishmash of unfinished wood and essentially a step above a dirt floor.“Master” bedroom had a futon as a bed and the other beds were no better. Not what I would expect in the area and for the price. Rustic at best so make sure you are prepared for a near camping experience. READ THE DESCRIPTION PROVIDED ON VRBO VERY CAREFULLY AND PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

great fall stay!

We had a wonderful time in Lakeville. The house is close to great hiking trails with wonderful fall foliage! The house was well-equipped for cooking and was spacious. We enjoyed the lake views and hanging out by the fire in the evening! The cabin was pretty chilly in October, and the space heaters helped heat up the smaller rooms but didn't make the main room and kitchen particularly warm, so plan to build a fire in the fireplace in the kitchen and the woodstove if you're there in the fall!

Our annual happy place

This is a fantastic property for our large group. We can't wait to return next year. The partially shaded waterfront provided shade and privacy while still allowing pleasant views of the lake. The screened-in porch space was fantastic, and the common space in the house is great for a large group. The bedrooms are roomy and separated from the common space. The large kitchen with 2 sinks and 2 refrigerators made meal preparation easy for multiple cooks. The property was equipped with so many useful things. We especially enjoyed the multiple boats for cruising the refreshing and quiet lake. The area has easy access to services and other activities for a wonderful vacation visit.

Idyllic!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this timeless cottage. The simple but spacious and comfortable cottage evokes an era of long and unhurried summers, yet areas such as the kitchen are fully updated and ready to for everything from big group dinners to quick snacks. The setting could not be better: a generous and very-private yard, shielded by spreading trees, looks out to the lovely quiet lake. The screened porch, the dock, or the canoe are all perfect spots for enjoying long summer sunsets. And the trails, shops, country roads, and people of the area could not be more charming. We feel so grateful to have been able to enjoy this special experience!

Great weekend!

We felt like we stepped back in time in this lake house! Although rustic, the house was clean, well equipped and functional. Our large group of 3 families had plenty of space and we especially loved the huge screened in porch. The waterfront out back was accessible, just had to take care stepping onto the floating dock; no sandy beach at the house however had a great time kayaking, paddleboarding, and canoeing (brought a couple of our own and used canoes on site, plenty of life jackets on site a well) across the lake to the town beach to enjoy sand, swimming and a large playground/playscape area for the littles. Thank you Alden for welcoming us to your home!

Step back in time

Great old, classic lakeside lodge. Quiet yet close to local towns. Wonderful, large kitchen for cooks and guests that extends out to a large, open living and dining room. Lovely screened porch looking out over the peaceful lake. Perfect for families and friends!

Comfortable lakeside home

The house had several roomy seating areas icluding a large screened porch. The kitchen had lots of counter space and we enjoyed cooking in it. We did lots of swimming and canoeing. Had a very good week.

Great location, terrible house

Large yard on lake. Has canoe, kayak, fire pit. Dock is unstable and dangerous because of the plank that you need to walk on. House old and run down. One refrigerator is covered in rust. One garbage disposal doesn’t work. Dishwasher probably leaks. The bathrooms are old. Claw foot tubs are rusted on the outside. Has one shower. The walls are unfinished and dark. There was a leak in one bedroom ceiling and the screened porch. Furniture is old and some are uncomfortable. This house would be outstanding because of the location but it needs a tremendous amount of work to make it functional and attractive.

Lake House is a rambling old summer house that has good space and comfy beds for a big family

Once we cleaned up after the resident squirrel and got the place warmed up, cuz we happened to get there on the first frosty night with little firewood…. The house was a great place for our family gathering. Good kitchen, good gathering space, comfy beds, lovely location on the lake. Alden was helpful and accommodating remedying the firewood and squirrel situation.
