We had a great stay. Pool was fantastic (and in good use). Very spacy accomodations; we were two families with 4 adults and 4 kids, but the house could have easily accomodated almost double. Very good, helpful and effective communication with the host Cécile. Locationwise nicely positioned to explore the Loire valley castles and vineyards.

It is a big house with plenty of room for a big group to eat and relax indoors and out. The pool is great for a family group as it lockable and close to the house.

Fantastic house in Langeais

We were 3 families (12 people) on holiday together in the house. It is situated on a large beautiful private plot. Nice swimming pool right next to the house and nice terrace area. The house has a fantastic large kitchen, nice rooms with good beds and nice bathrooms. The town of Langeais is very nice and cozy, and the Sunday market can be recommended.

A happy week!

A happy family get together in August. Plenty of room for ten. Nice pool (well worth paying the heating charge) and garden, with table tennis and garden toys. Great table, chairs and parasols but could do with more loungers. Great location for castles, paddle boarding, canoeing etc.

5 jours entre amis avec adolescents (12 a 17 ans)

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux dans ce grand gîte qui a accueilli nos 3 familles d’amis avec au total 6 adultes et 9 adolescents. Quelle belle découverte ! Le gîte est très grand et a su répondre à toutes nos attentes : visite de châteaux, village troglodyte… La piscine chauffée et les grands espaces du gîte : cuisine, salon, chambres et l’immense dortoir nous ont permis de passer un très bon séjour ! Nous avions une réserve sur le dortoir pour nos adolescents et finalement nos enfants ont adoré dormir tous ensemble dans ce grand dortoir. La cuisine est très bien équipée et les propriétaires ont à chaque fois rapidement répondu à nos questions. Nous vous recommandons très fortement ce gîte ! Une réserve ? non aucune !

Three generations of family in a lovely family home.

Thank you to Cecile for her lovely house and all her prompt replies to queries.We did a lot of cooking annd the kitch was very well ewuipped and a great space for cooking and eating. The children aged 7 to 13 loved the large bedroom with 4 bunk beds and various toys. We all loved the pool and the garden space for outdoor games.. Also great living space and comfortable bedrooms and beds.Minor points -- WiFi sometimes slow so a bit awkward as 2 of the men had to do work meetings while there.- It would be good to replace some of the outside games such as badminton racquets and table tennis bats which were broken - but we had brought some indoor and outdoor games ourselves.- Langeais beautiful - busy on Sunday but very quiet the rest of the week. Hard to find a local restaurant to suit a family. I would not recommend Le Garden which gets good reviews on line. We had an excellent trip to Tours and Gadawi Park Sud which the children and adults loved. - Guests are responsible for taking all waste to communal bins a few minutes walk down the road. It would be a lot easier if there were bins on site. Overall we loved the house, garden, outside eating space and pool and would thoroughly recommend the house.

House was great for us since it has a lot of space, with a big kitchen and very well equipped. Pool water was green, which did not seem very normal so owner requested us to add some chemical products to correct that issue. Actually it was not resolved during our stay. Grass was not very green, quite yellow I would say. Gardener came one day without letting us now and left the external gate open which was not great since we were with kids. To add also that external gate does not closes properly which can be a danger. Bedrooms were nice, but beds quite uncomfortable. To close this review, I would like to say that communication with the owner was not great, and at some point not polite from her side.

Family Holiday

Had a lovely two weeks as a multi-generational family ages 1- 75. The villa was well equipped but could have had a few sharp knives. The bedrooms were a good size, with comfortable beds. The dorm room was a great hit with the kids and they loved sharing this space. The outdoor space is a definite positive of this villa, being a family of 13 it was nice to sit outside and the tables were large enough to accommodate us all. The garden and pool area are enclosed by trees and only get the sun to 5pm (early Aug). This suited the younger and older generation but the teens wanted a little more sun. There are plenty of toys in the shed that the younger children enjoyed. We loved the pool and as we had a baby in our party the fence was a great comfort to the parents. The villa is situated in the beautiful town of Langaeis, which is an energetic 15 mins walk or 3 min drive. We had several lovely meals in the village. Mainly Odelice and Pont Levis. There are several bakeries where we got our bread and croissants from and if one of the three we closed another would be open. There are also lots of other towns to visit, Chinon, Villandrey and Tours were where went for the day. We also had a day trip to the Lakes. Very easy to find and free to enter, paid activities and cafe available where you can do paddle boarding, peddle’o and giant inflatable obstacle course. My personal recommendations would be to pay the extra for the pool to be heated. We were lucky as the weather was 33plus each day but it was still cold. The older children did not mind but the younger children did find it to cold. One of the bedroom is a through room, it was not an issue for us as the grandparent were happy to help out the parents of the one year old. We had a great two weeks.

Great house for a family holiday in a sheltered setting near the attractive town of Langeais

My wife and I wanted to share a holiday with all our children and grandchildren together, something we had not experienced before. We were twelve in number, with ages ranging from two to early seventies, so it was not an easy task to find a holiday home large enough to accommodate us all. In addition, it had to be well equipped, to have facilities and features which would suit the whole family, and to be within easy reach of shops, services and places to visit for days out. La Tuffiere on the outskirts of Langeais in the Loire Valley fitted the bill in all these respects. It is a large stone-built house set in very attractive grounds. A key feature was the swimming pool, which was a good size and was securely fenced to prevent toddlers (and doddery grandparents!) falling in accidentally. A special word of praise here for the gentleman who arrived without fail each morning to maintain the pool and surrounding area in excellent condition. There was a wide range of play and sports equipment in the adjacent outbuilding to appeal to everybody, and equipment such as TV and DVD player within the house itself. For the most part, we catered for ourselves using the extensive range of cooking utensils provided, and also the barbecue on several occasions. For the last evening, we ate at the local creperie, which was also a good way to celebrate one of our granddaughter's birthday. Langeais itself is a very attractive small town on the Loire, west of Tours. One of the main events is the weekly Sunday market, and the local chateau is well worth a visit. The local supermarket carries a wide range of goods, but a cautionary note to holidaymakers from Britain, used to the extended shopping hours of the major supermarket chains. The opening hours for the Langeais supermarket are 9.00am to 7.30pm, with a closing time of 12noon on Sunday. Most of the local shops in the centre of Langeais close for a couple of hours in the early afternoon. For trips out, we visited several of the chateaux for which the area is well-known, such as Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Chenonceau, and one or two smaller ones such as L'Islette. All in all, it was a most enjoyable fortnight, and I thoroughly recommend this holiday home.

Wonderful stay

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is spacious and the beds, kitchen and bathrooms are modern enough. The house is located at walking distance from the centre of Langeais, a small but lively town with a beautiful castle. Many other interesting tourist hot spots are at short distance, such as the castle of Villandry and the city of Tours. A small disadvantage is that the larger part of the estate is situated in front of the house. The area at the backside can get really hot on warm summer days, but it probably perfect when it is less warm. We enjoyed the swimming pool a lot!

Maison charmante, fonctionnelle et bien équipée.

Nous avons apprécié notre semaine de vacances à la Tuffière, cette charmante maison de famille. La cuisine est très bien équipée et fonctionnelle. Les chambres sont spacieuses et les enfants ont adoré la chambre dortoir! Nous avons apprécié la terrasse, la piscine bien chauffée et bien entretenue. La région permet d'allier sports et culture. Seul bémol: le parking pour les voitures juste devant la maison qui est exigu alors qu'il y a un immense terrain devant la maison. L'aménagement de celui-ci en le dégageant de la façade de la maison serait bienvenu. Une maison de vacances à recommander!

Belle maison parfaite avec des enfants.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié cette grande maison typique, le jardin est magnifique et bien entretenu. La maison est parfait pour accueillir plusieurs familles notamment grâce à la grande salle de jeu où les enfants ont trouvé leur bonheur dans la malle à déguisement et dans les coffres à jouets. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les soirées au coin du feu et la cuisine très conviviale. Quelques petits points d amélioration : l escalier qui monte à l étage est très glissant, il faut prévoir des chaussons adhérents, un léger manque de lumière dans la salle de jeu (1 ampoule ne fonctionnant pas). Nous avons apprécié de pouvoir aller à Langeais à pied par de petites routes, la balade est sympa.
