The circular route through Ashbury Woods (4.5 miles), beneath an Iron Age fort, is another rewarding option for stretching your legs. Pick up fresh local produce at Chelsfield Farm Shop (2 miles), where you'll also find a bar and takeaway for an easy holiday treat. For food shopping, curio shops and fab places to eat, head to the bustling market town of Launceston (9 miles). Fancy a day at the seaside? Crackington Haven is a fab option, or head to The lively coastal resort of Bude (13.5 miles) for wide sandy beaches. Picturesque Boscastle (13 miles) is packed with charming cafés and plenty of Cornish character.

On arrival, step through the front door into a welcoming hallway where you can leave coats and shoes. The dining room is on one side and the inviting lounge on the other. Exposed character features and soothing blue shades create a warm and homely atmosphere, and there’s a wood burner housed within an inglenook fireplace to keep you warm on chilly days. At the rear of the cottage, the well-equipped kitchen provides everything needed for preparing hearty holiday meals, with a separate WC here too. The utility room is handy for hanging up soggy coats if you’ve been out in the elements countryside adventures. Upstairs are three comfortable bedrooms – a king-size, a twin and a single – along with a family bathroom with a bath, shower and WC.

Outside, spend lazy mornings enjoying the fresh Cornish air in the enclosed garden, which comes with outdoor furniture so you can dine alfresco on warmer days. Private parking is available for two cars, with additional on-street parking nearby if you needed.
