There's a cosy home-from-home feel to this lovely chalet, in the heart of Le Grand Bornand. Built in 2014, it combines a sleek contemporary interior with antique furniture, vintage rugs and unique artwork to create an atmosphere where you'll feel immediately at ease.

Chalet Ibusta is in a great location too, with the ski bus, slopes, ice rink and village facilities just a short walk away. If you'd prefer not to use your car, just park it up in the garage and forget about it.

The chalet has plenty of room for ten guests in four charming bedrooms, and with a sauna, games room and outdoor hot tub, we think it has everything you need for a hassle-free mountain holiday.

Accommodation at Chalet Ibusta is set over three floors. On the lower ground floor, you'll find the garage with a boot warmer and plenty of room to leave your bikes or skis at the end of a day in the mountains. From here, you could head to the sauna, or perhaps the hot tub on the terrace. There's also a large workout area with an exercise bike, a shower and a useful laundry room.

The main living area on the next floor is arranged around a large central fireplace. The cosy living area has chairs and a large sofa, as well as a piano, perhaps for musical evenings. The well-equipped kitchen makes cooking a pleasure, and there's room around the dining table to enjoy a meal together.

In good weather, step out on to the spacious terrace where you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink, soak in the hot tub, or cook up a feast on the barbecue.

The first of the bedrooms is on the ground floor - a double room with an en suite shower room. There's also a separate WC. There are three more bedrooms upstairs, two of which are double rooms with plenty of storage. The third room has a double bed with a mezzanine floor above it, reached by a ladder. At the top there are 2 single beds, suitable for children. These bedrooms share a shower room with two hand basins, and a separate WC.

There's a great TV room on the top floor landing, as well  as a games room with table football and a desk area for two, handy as a workspace or for playing computer games.

ABOUT THE AREA ...

The bus, which also serves La Clusaz, runs every 15 minutes between Chinaillon and Le Grand Bornand, and is free to use with your Aravis ski pass. This covers more than 220km of pristine pistes, in the resorts of Le Grand Bornand, La Clusaz and Manigod, so there's plenty of challenge for skiers and boarders of all abilities. There are also plenty of cross-country trails.

Non-skiers won't be bored either - try hiking or snowshoeing, paragliding, hot-air ballooning, ice-skating or ice-climbing. Le Grand Bornand boasts the Famille Plus mark, ensuring that ithere is always plenty of entertainment and activities for even the youngest visitors.

In the summer, a network of walking and biking trails criss-cross the slopes, and you can pick up a route map for either at the tourist office. Le Grand Bornand has a beautiful nine-hole golf course with a great driving range, and on those very hot days, why not head for the fantastic swimming pool complex, with a restaurant and grassy areas for picnics.

If you’re looking for something a little more challenging, there’s a climbing school, via ferrata routes, a tree-top adventure park, canyoning, white-water rafting and paragliding all nearby.

August sees the international children’s festival - Au Bonheur des Mômes - in Le Grand Bornand, a week of magic shows, circus acts, theatre, games and workshops, with a grand firework finale. It’s always hugely popular, so make sure you book early to guarantee a holiday you’ll never forget!
