'Een verblijf op Mont Saint-Michel is een must. De hotels zijn er veel duurder dan op het vaste land, maar als de dagtouristen weg zijn geniet je het meest. Dit hotel biedt alles wat je nodig hebt in oude stijl. Je auto blijft op het vaste land op ern bewaakte parking en met een pendelbus ga je naar het eiland. Een geweldige ervaring. Tip: kleed je warm als het waait.'

I booked this room so I could stay on the island in the evening and early morning without the crowds, which worked great. I did not expect much else since the whole place is full of crappy souvenir shops and low effort restaurants. It makes sense because most people visit once in their life so there is no expectation of repeat customers anyway, and the same goes for hotels so I expected it...

Sait Mont Michel is 3 kilometer verwijderd en een klein stukje fietsen via een fietspad langs het kanaal. Zelfs wandelend is het zeer goed te doen. De kamers zijn schoon, eenvoudig en praktisch. "Wij zijn zeer tevrefen. We hadden eerst een kamer op de verdieping maar ik ben slecht te been en bij de receptie zochten ze direct een andere stek op gelijlvloers. De ligging is perfect direct in de buurt van redtaurants en de winkels zijn ook vlot bereikbaar."

It makes sense because most people visit once in their life so there is no expectation of repeat customers anyway, and the same goes for hotels so I expected it to be pretty bad. The room was a bit worn (paint falling off the door, loose tiles in the bathroom) but clean, and one of the biggest rooms I've seen in France so far (my room was in the annex building Maison Rouge) and it had a bathtub as well. Breakfast was pretty average but at least it was included in the price instead of gouging people for another 20 or so. Obviously you could get a lot more luxury for the same I price elsewhere, but elsewhere is not on mont saint Michel. "
