Great Cabin, but Some Privacy and Communication Issues
Pros: clean cabin, comfy bed with comfy sheets, about 23 minutes from Leavenworth, close to Plain Hardware and Cafe. Plenty of towels, robes provided, hot tub was pristine, kitchen well stocked with spices, pots and pans, dishes. Pet friendly, nice neighborhood to walk the dogs. This was our 2nd stay here (our first in 2019) and we looked forward to returning. Cons: Outdoor lighting stays on outside the bedroom all night (unable to shut off, as it plugs into a locked shed). Multiple outdoor cameras that made us feel like we were being watched (these also popped on with a blinding light as we walked our dogs at night). An intrusive Alexa that came on randomly with noise and lights, An unannounced pop in by the owner as we walked up to the house while returning from a dog walk (she did not say she was the owner, but did say she was there to balance our hot tub). Shortly after we received a VRBO message stating that there is an extra charge for pets along with their pet policy (as if we were trying to get away with something). I replied with a screenshot of our VRBO request to have our pets with us when we booked. Not sure what the misunderstanding was there, but it was off putting to have the owner pop by without warning (glad we weren't in the hot tub, but I'm guessing maybe they knew that with all of the cameras). 3 days after checking out we received a message that they found a wet pet spot in the cabin. Very shocked, never had a problem with our dogs. Will not return.

Monica Thank you for your accurate description of the cabin condition and amenities. We are always happy when guest return, because it indicates we met their needs for a relaxing and well cared for property. Our sole purpose is to provide a space that requires guest to bring minimal items with them to enjoy their escape. Hence the well stock kitchen with items most rentals do not provide. As you mentioned a sparkling clean hot and robes for our guest. Because you were at cabin for longer then a 2 night stay, I stopped by on my way home to check hot tub and make sure it was balanced for you. I knocked on the front door and you did not answer, I also announced my presence as I walked the path to back porch it case you were in hot tub. Of course you were not, I usually text or call our guest prior . so my deepest apologies as I was trying to ensure you had a positive experience. Since this is your second visit you know the 2 cameras on the driveway are the same 2 cameras that have always been onsite. Sorry you felt watched, I totally understand how one might feel.that way. They are there more for security when guest are not there, but they come in handy if a complaint is lodged for too many cars or more people onsite then chelan county permit allows. It allows us to prove the complaint is false or true. The alexa on wine cabinet is for guest use for music and can simply be turned off, it for guest to use if they choose. Regarding vrbo message, we are required to communicate through vrbo, and you did identify you were bring your pups, the fee had not been charged. Usually on return guest with good behavior pups I try not to charge the pet fee. But when we found the wet urine in the master bedroom which was quite large, I had to follow through on collecting the pet fee. Im sorry that you seem to think I would collect it for no reason, I assure you I don't do that. Pets when left alone unkenneled in a strange house have a higher probability of marking then not. Hence why we provide kennels if notified and pet beds, bowls and poop bags. As always we hope your stay was relaxing and any miscommunications forgiven. T & J

We love this cabin!
Another relaxing and rejuvenating stay at this just-right cabin! Location is great with easy access to Leavenworth, Plain, and some easy/beautiful snowshoeing trails on both south and north sides of Lake Wenatchee and a new-to-us trail called Hidden Lake (Google it!). Cabin has a wonderful kitchen set up and many details to make your stay great. Owners are responsive and so nice to work with; we really couldn’t ask for anything more in a getaway! Girls Trip
What a lovely property. Perfect for our girlfriend get togethers. It’s away from it all but close enough to Leavenworth to make a trip into town for the day. The cabin is cozy, cute, clean and well taken care of. This is our second time coming to this spot and we will be back again. ❤️

Amazing Girls Weekend
This is maybe my sixth stay at this location, so the fact that I keep coming back speaks volumes. Normally my husband and I spend a week there every winter, but it's also a fantastic location for a girls weekend. This area is stunning in the fall! The house is the epitome of comfort. It's spotless, the owner is so warm and responsive, and I have truly loved every single visit. I give this place 10 stars out of 5!

Everything as described in listing and more! The location was perfect with access to miles and miles of mountain bike trails from the neighborhood! Owner has gone out of their way to make sure house is stocked with everything one needs for a relaxing weekend. Plenty of firewood for both outside firepit and inside wood stove. The hot tub was large and spotless! Owner is wonderful and super responsive! Can't wait to return!

Weekend Getaway
The cabin Outside of town but still close enough to go do stuff. Leavenworth is such a cute town with lots to do. You have privacy at the cabin plus tv and Wi-Fi or you can choose to unplug. The cabin is cozy and has everything you need. It’s a great bonus that there is a hot tub. Love that they allow pets. We absolutely enjoyed our stay!!

Absolutely amazing!
This cabin is one of the best cabins our family ever stayed in and we've stayed in quite a few of them. The host is super nice, responds quickly and went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect. The location is pristine, the cabin is so clean and is literally stocked with everything you could need (dishes, pans, kitchen appliances/supplies, game area for the kids, etc). There were six of us who stayed (me, hubby and our four children) and there was plenty of space for all of us. The cabin has an a/c unit which is a total blessing for those hot afternoons and the surrounding trees give the cabin such a feeling of privacy. We loved the cozy front porch and the propane firepit unit was awesome since there was a burn ban in place and we couldn't use the wood fire pit. The beds are clean and comfortable and so are the couches. This was the cleanest cabin we've ever stayed in and all the amenities made for such a relaxing and enjoyable get away. We had such a great time that we didn't want to leave and will definitely be back in the future...thank you so much =)

Comfortable house
House was comfortable, cozy and well supplied. The furniture was comfortable, the fireplace well supplied and the hottub was great. Down side, being into February the house was decked out with Christmas stuff in all the rooms. When I rented the house I was in a hurry and didn't do my due diligence. The house is listed as 4 bedrooms. It is only 3 bedrooms with a loft. It was my bad for not catching that but it should not be listed as 4 bedrooms.

Hello Glad you enjoyed your stay at black bear cabin. Im.not sure where you saw our cabin listed as 4 bedrooms. We only list on vrbo and it is listed as a 3 bedroom 1 bath. The loft isn't even mentioned in the description. Sorry you were disappointed I'm sure if I was under impression I rented a 4 bedroom I would be too. Other then that I hope the fact our home is stocked better then most property's was comfort to you and your guest.

Great winter break getaway
We have a large family (7 total) and this place was wonderful. 7 out of 7 of us agree beds were probably the most comfortable we have ever been in at a rental. Additionally the water pressure was amazing for the shower which was also a huge plus!!! The cabin was large enough to fit us but still quaint and intimate. All the amenities you need for kids with wifi and gaming system on site, with streaming services on every TV. We enjoyed the hot tub and walked the snowy streets. You must have 4x4 to get there in the winter!!!! Tracy the owner was super responsive and really helpful! We would definitely rent from her again.

Christmas Holiday
Amazing, very clean, well-stocked, comfortable beds and host was more than helpful and gracious. When you walk into this lovely home you immediately feel right at home. Much to our surprise a Christmas tree decorated along with decorations all over the house. Fresh Flowers on the table. The wood stove ready to start. The hostess provided us with areas to visit along with instructions on how to get there. We had a 9-year-old and 13-year-old with us, and they did not want to leave. Amazing home and amazing experience. We hope to rent this home again.

Soul Restoring
Everything was comfortable in this lovely cabin. The owner reached out to us early to warn us about weather and welcome us early if we liked. We have three kids, and despite the small living quarters here, we could absolutely feel that attention had been paid to usability - there were hooks everywhere, for towels, costs, etc. This little detail makes a space so much easier to keep neat. We cooked an entire Thanksgiving meal right in the kitchen, and there were plenty of the basic necessities, down to coffee and tea supplies. The hot tub was amazing - clean, hot, relaxing. I would 100% recommend a visit for anyone needing to get out of town!

The cabin was as pictured, it was very cozy, comfortable, clean and the locations was great. It was a bit farther to downtown Leavenworth than we had thought, but it worked out fine. Lake Wenatchee State Park was beautiful and very close. I wish we would have spent the whole day there. All in all a very good trip, we would rent it again.

Everything about the property and host contributed to a relaxing weekend. Everything we needed for a relaxing weekend was taken care of for us. Example was the fire starter already placed in the wood stove when we arrived, so all we had to do was strike the lighter stored next to the fireplace. This type of thought and consideration was seen throughout the house.

OMG, I almost hate to let more people know how wonderful this place is! Perfect layout for our family of 5 + our dog. Everything was sparkling clean, including the hot tub. Comfy beds and nice linens, and very thoughtful details (i.e. robes for the hot tub). The kitchen had everything we needed and more, with great quality pans and kitchen tools. Appreciated the firewood available for the wood burning stove. Owner was quickly responsive to questions. We will definitely try to rent this gem again! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

This was our sixth year at Black Bear cabin and it was a delightful stay, as usual. Tracy makes sure we have everything we need, the cabin is clean and comfortable, we love the hot tub and the fireplace (which our old dogs love lying in front of), and we love going for snowy walks and exploring the neighborhood. Plain Hardware is adorable and the perfect stop for a coffee and cocoa, and of course the trip isn't complete without spending time in nearby Leavenworth. We look forward to this winter getaway every year!

Black Bear is Marvelous Retreat
We were quite pleased with our wonderful long weekend at the Black Bear Cabin. The room arrangement was absolutely perfect for my spouse & I, our four kids (two in singles, two sharing a double), and my adult brother. It even felt roomy for our large group. We were there to hang out, play board games together, and take advantage of the nearby XC skiing and sledding at Kahler Glen, Lake Wenatchee State Park, and Chiwawa, and the downhill skiing up at Stevens. The cabin was well cared for, and the decor was festive and cheery, with thoughtful details and marvelous little accents all about. (One little basket tucked under a side table we discovered to be filled with deciduous dropped antlers, which was fascinating to all of us.) The kitchen was well-organized and equipped for everything. We brought a lot of food & supplies with us (never certain how equipped a cabin kitchen really is) and then discovered the cabinets truly were full of spices & seasonings, oils, flour and sugar, etc. and pots, pans, electric griddles, measuring cups, silicone baking mats, foil, ziploc bags.. The kitchen was ready for anything. Other things we loved -- the well-maintained hot tub, the atmosphere with the wood-burning stove, the little hooks above the stove to dry our wet gloves, the artfully stocked toiletries, the snow-shovels and sleds, the good wifi, the cosy lighting. (The kids were also quite pleased with the screens & games.) The region received a record-breaking dump of snow in the week prior to our visit. Our host, Tracy, was considerate and proactive. She reached out to us beforehand to give us an update on snow conditions, and even texted us a photo of the plowed driveway so we'd be able to recognize it in the unusually snowy conditions (and in the dark). About Tracy - we heart Tracy. We've had some lovely hosts over our years, but she was exceptionally responsive and thoughtful. Clearly, a lot of thought and work has gone into the cabin, into the experience, and into being a good neighbor in the community. I just want to highlight and celebrate this.

Wonderful White Christmas
Upon arrival my family was pleasantly surprised by all of the Christmas decorations including a beautiful tree. It was an incredible treat. The cabin has an open floor plan, was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked to cook everything from Christmas Cookies to Christmas dinner. The cabin is in a prime location to experience all types of entertainment imaginable from snowmobile trails, to a reindeer farm, and Leavenworth. We highly recommend the cabin and plan on staying their again in the future.

This property was great for a wintertime retreat it felt very comfortable. Unlike some other properties which are misrepresented. During our stay the surrounding properties were vacant so no issues there. Only one small complaint is the keypad was not programmed to the code we were given but quickly resolved when we called host. Had she not answered or there had been no phone service this could have been a problem but she answered and gave us a code that worked, problem solved. Would definitely rent again.

Quick Weekend Getaway
Overall great experince. Was great for our family. Our dog loved the open space and she got to explore all the new smells. Our kids loved the evening time in the hot tub. Beds were comnfortable. Only one thing that threw the stay off was the kids upset no air hockey table as in the pictures and listed. Other than that they got over it and we had a blast.
