The summers go by too quickly here, but they're always memorable. It's almost sweater weather now, which is just as sweet, but we'll eek out as many sunny summer weather days as we can now through October. See you next summer!

Thank you Jose! Yes, it's very close to Camp Lenox. What a lovely venue for a wedding. I agree. My home is in a peaceful setting and an easy drive to/from Boston. It's funny, because there can be a parade going on very close by on Main Street, but it'll be very quiet inside and out at my house! It must be the vibe from October Mountain. I'm so happy that you got a lot done. There's so much to do in the Berkshires.

I love it when a guest appreciates the personal and intentional touches I’ve mixed in with the functional aspects of the home. My mother is 91 yo and my inspiration for decorating inside and out. She could make a flea market find look like it was made for the spot she placed it in. She set the bar high while making it look tasteful and effortless. While I appreciate reviews and am constantly updating my home, I’d like to clear up some things. I showed my home to your sister prior to your decision to rent and I told her I had reservations as to whether my home would be a good fit for you, since you were 83 and using a walker. I was never made fully aware of your special needs, but these two things alone concerned me. I was slightly surprised, but very pleased when you called to tell me you would be choosing my home. I did tell you that I had been planning on installing a railing for some time and would do so prior to your arrival for your convenience. I have always had 3 a/c units in the bedrooms for my renters, but I told you that this year I would put a 4th one in the living room, because though 3 is enough, I know all my renters would feel better if they knew there was one more. Regarding the sump pump, it did not back up. There was an insane and probably unprecedented amount of rain for the entire month of July when you stayed. The sump pump tried pushing all that water out of the basement and the ground outside was saturated. Thankfully, there was very little water in the basement. Thankfully, it wasn’t truly flooded. We cleaned it up for you and explained that this was an unusual situation, but unfortunately excessive rains sometimes happen. The rain actually seems to have come in through the ground at the foundation level from downpours. The gurgling will be addressed and we don't typically work on the home while there's a guest in the home unless it's absolutely necessary. A former owner had the kitchen and sump pump lines tied together, so there was simply air in the line when the sump pump was pushing water out of the basement. Regarding my home furniture and lighting, I have normal furniture. It is not shabby. I have designer barrel chairs that are extremely comfortable. You mentioned to one of us that they you couldn’t get in and out of them, so you put my stiffer Queen Ann’s style chair in front of the tv, but we thought that was possibly because you use a walker and your advanced age. Again, I don’t know what your special needs are. You insisted that one of my light fixtures didn’t work, but when we checked, it did. We also explained that I installed brand new horizontal blinds, so that you can let in as little or as much natural light as you would like. They're top down /bottom up shades for your convenience. All of the bedrooms have very nice shades to also let in as much or as little light as needed. There are lamps in every room, as well. I offered to drive a replacement lamp to you when you were fixated on the one lamp, but you declined. We stopped by several times to help out and assisted you every week with getting the garbage out to the curb, though that is not part of my package. My home is clean and well appointed. As I've said, it is farm house country style in decor. I think you may have been looking for something more modern, since you reside in a newer assisted living facility, and I am doing my best to constantly update the accommodations. It isn't perfect, but it is still a sweet country home and we're working on all of it's imperfections as they surface.

The backyard is especially peaceful in the early morning and late afternoon. The home is perfectly located in a quiet part of town and yet incredibly close to so many attractions in the area.

You were fabulous guests and so understanding when there was randomly no cable the night before you arrived. Like I told you, had I known the tv wouldn’t be working (it ended up just being the remote needed to be replaced!), I would’ve left you a bigger bottle of wine! 😄 I’m so flattered you chose my home to spend your weekend celebrating your wedding anniversaries! ♥️ Cheers to many more years enjoying trips and time away together!
